Death Mage with an SS-Rank Talent-Chapter 248
Chapter 248: Chapter 248
"Now that we are alone, let’s see what you are interested in", Jay said as he took out a booklet and placed it in front of Aaron.
Aaron didn’t understand why Jay placed a booklet in front of him.
Seeing the confused look, Jay explained, "This booklet has the list of all items that I am trying to sell".
"Oh, so this has the names of the items you have from which I can choose, huh. It is a great idea, not showing the item, but still letting others know that you can sell that, which makes it difficult for anyone who was trying to steal and run away, which would be possible if they are placed in the open", Aaron nodded in understanding.
It also saves him the space, especially because Jay was kind of a guy who wouldn’t open a shop in a place to sell them. He was more like a travelling merchant than a shopkeeper who would open a stall somewhere to sell their items.
Though he is a merchant, he lacks the patience to sit and sell the items one by one. He acts more like a caravan that transports goods from one place to another.
It was not just because he was not a patient man. It was also because of his class.
The world knows his class as a Merchant, but only he knew the truth that it was not a common merchant class. It was something different, which anyone would come to the conclusion if they found out about his skills and how he gains EXP to level up.
---
Though Aaron understood what the booklet was for, he didn’t completely understand.
Aaron believed that the booklet had all the items that Jay had, but it only had the items that Jay wished to sell. Also, Aaron thought that Jay printed the booklet for the occasion to sell the items.
What he didn’t know was that Jay didn’t.
The booklet is the result of his skill. It can show the items that he wants to sell and will update as time goes on.
It was not a one-time use piece, but something that didn’t have to be printed every time there were new items or old items that were no longer available. Though that was the case, everyone who saw the booklet assumed that he had printed the booklet just for them.
He never corrected them, as it drove his sales, and thereby his EXP.
Jay smiled and said nothing, just as usual, when Aaron thought the same. Though they bonded over the day, they are still strangers. For anyone, EXP is needed for strength, and he was not going to cause disruption just because he came to like the boy.
It was just like the boy wouldn’t reveal his secrets like that talent he has.
At first, he thought he was a fourth-year student based on his level, only to realise that he had yet to finish his second year as they spoke during the trip. The only reason why he was outside was because of the situation outside was not good, and he needed help.
Jay finally understood what the talent, Supreme Growth(SS), meant.
Though he could see the status of a person, he couldn’t be able to decipher what their talents or skills are, unless he came across them before.
Jay had a mini-heart attack when he saw Aaron’s status. He didn’t want to know anymore, but as they spoke, he slowly came to understand what his talent or physique or bloodline gave him.
Jay came to the assumption that his levels are due to his Supreme Growth, while his attributes are due to his Physique and/ Bloodline.
He knew that Aaron would never share these details with anyone. Similarly, he too can’t share some details about his class with anyone.
So, he let Aaron form his own opinion about him.
---
Aaron checked the booklet and saw there were a lot of items that he wanted to buy, but he lacked the resources to buy them.
Most of them needed credits, but some worked on Barter.
He needed to provide certain items in exchange for the ones in Jay’s booklet.
Exchanging items for credits was fine. He has some, while he can dump some useless items that he has to get the other required credits, but item exchange, that was the problem.
There are items that he can use to exchange for the ones he has, but showing them would create unnecessary issues. Though they became close over the few hours of bonding they did during the travel, Aaron didn’t want to show all his cards.
So, he dumped a few useless items that wouldn’t raise eyes for credits, which he used to buy some from Jay.
---
One of the items he chose was Status Veil Skill.
This would protect others from spying on someone else’s status.
Though the status panel was private, and unless given permission, others can’t see one’s status, but there are ways to overcome such issues.
This skill would plug those holes that could create a pathway for others to see someone else’s status panel. It would be bad for Aaron if someone were able to saw his status.
Until he saw the skill in the list and asked why such a skill existed, he thought that his status was safe from others. Only now did he understand how stupid he was.
In this world, there is no guarantee.
One day, something might be unbeatable, but the next day, it could be crushed. So, he has to not depend on one thing and should be on the lookout for a better thing.
In addition to the skill, he brought a few more skills and items that are useful, but most of them were not for himself but for his parents, which he intended to send to them through parcel services.
He already has a lot of skills, and some in his storage to be used when required. He is also powerful enough to stand against most enemies and can escape if the odds are not in his favour, but that was not the case for his family.
They are his only weakness.
As long as they are safe, he has no worries. In order for that to happen, he had to improve their strength too, alongside his.
If he grows too quickly, and if they can’t catch up, what is the use of it?
Staying at the top with no one to share your life is worse than dying as a normal person. At least, they would share their lives with someone they care about.
