Death Mage with an SS-Rank Talent-Chapter 274
Early in the morning, Aaron woke up as usual.
He did what he usually did in the morning after waking up and then left the fort to hunt, or at least that’s what he said at the gate when he left. Sure, he would be hunting, but that was not the real reason to be outside.
After reaching a certain distance, he sensed the surroundings for a minute.
"Hmm, are they not suspicious? Or they don’t care about what happened?" Aaron thought.
He has been gone for two days. Normally, that should have caused a small ripple. Students stationed at the fort would not always return daily, but they did check from time to time. Though that was the case, he was not like everyone.
He is still a second-year student, which means that he is still weak in their eyes. So, him staying outside should have raised some eyebrows, but what Aaron didn’t know was that they were kind of busy with their own problems.
Most of the team that went on a secret mission from the alliance was dead.
Though the general and the top officials of the fort learned what the secret mission entailed and what they achieved, that didn’t remove the pain of losing powerful members.
With a single mission, they lost 17 powerful professionals, just like that. The three were not available for immediate duty. They needed rest, before they could return, and when that time occurs, whether the scar of the battle would let them return to duty or not is still a question.
If it were any other time, they would have bothered with such a change, but with bigger issues to deal with, they didn’t bother much with his absence.
Though Aaron has no idea, a tragedy worked in Aaron’s favour, with him staying low-key and not attracting attention to himself. With his deeds at Duskmist City already spreading, he was climbing the hit list of the cults.
He didn’t want to attract any more attention to himself.
Unless there was something tempting, there was no need to attract attention to himself.
---
"Well, whatever the reason, it’s working for me, that’s enough", Aaron thought as he disappeared from the area.
He found himself in a small cave that he had found accidentally a few weeks ago. He placed some undead as protectors and settled there.
He then reached his communicator and got in touch with Jay, the merchant friend.
Since Aaron knew that Jay might have seen his status, and decided to form a connection with him, Aaron didn’t think against that.
He sold everything that he didn’t want to Jay and exchanged some for credits or resources that either he or his family could use. He even saved a few for Zara, which he would give to her when he sees her again.
Erika and Reyna can earn themselves and they are combat professionals. So, there was no need to support them much, but Zara is not like them. She is a crafter, and she can’t get those resources to craft other resources without someone supporting her.
This was the relation that Aaron maintained with Jay. Resource for resource or credit when he has no need for a resource. This way, both of them benefited.
Aaron didn’t have to maintain the unnecessary stuff in his storage and could make good use of them, while Jay improved his levels like never before.
As a merchant class, he needed sales, whether it was buying or selling, he would earn a lot of EXP. Of course, there was no way for him to create loopholes like buying and selling the same item again and again from the same person.
He could only gain EXP if that item had passed a certain time since he made the sale.
If such a loophole existed, then he would have reached the peak long ago, as long as it was certain that he could have completed those rank-up quests.
Now with Aaron’s supplies, he improved a lot, but that was something Aaron didn’t know, that what he cared about was Jay’s discretion.
He needed some resources to take care of the dungeon. To transport it from the place it was to some other place, he needs those; otherwise, he could forget about gaining a personal dungeon for himself and his family.
---
"Hello, Aaron, it’s been a while", Jay spoke as soon as the connection was established.
"Hey Jay, it’s nice to hear from you again, but I need a few resources quickly, and the reason why I called you", Aaron spoke.
Hearing the urgency in Aaron’s voice, Jay said, "Sure, name it. I will find them as soon as possible".
Aaron told him what he wanted, and when Jay heard those words, he was surprised first but then he burst out laughing loudly.
With the strength that Aaron possessed, Jay didn’t think that it was out of order for such a thing to happen. What made him laugh out loud was that with dungeons in Aaron’s possession, he would raise his level even more quickly than before, and that means he would get even more resources to sell, which means Jay would level up too.
"I can find them, but I would need at least a day to find those resources", Jay replied.
Aaron agreed to that, as he knew that he couldn’t claim the dungeon in a day anyway.
Once the call ended, Aaeon turned his attention to the notifications that he had ignored before. It was the reason why he found the cave to settle before claiming the reward that was withheld from him, for reaching the Epic grade.
--
[Detected that the Awakener is now at Rank-5.]
[Reward is now accessible.]
[Do you want to access the reward?]
[Yes/No]
Aaron immediately accepted the reward.
[Reward is being distributed.]
[Access to Death Lands granted(Lower Realm).]
[You can now access Death Lands from anywhere. Though you can only enter the Lower Realm for now. Access can be improved.]
--
Aaron was surprised looking at the reward that he got, which was not at all what he expected.
"An access? I thought that there would be another class upgrade like before, but it seems that it was not the case. It seems I can access something called Death Lands, and that, too, only the Lower Realm. There is a notification that I can improve the access, but I can think about that later".
"First, that word, Death Lands. What are Death Lands? If I have access and it says lower realm, then it is possible is an area or region, but where does this lie? Wait, I remember that I heard those words before, but from where?" Aaron wondered as he looked at the notifications.
He thought for a while, but he couldn’t, for whatever reason, remember where he read or heard those words, but he was sure that those words were familiar.
"Since I feel familiar with those words, I can find out about that again later on", Aaron decided to push that issue aside.
"First, let’s return to the dungeon and claim it completely", Aaron decided.
He stood up and quickly placed the undead back in the undead space and went to the dungeon that he claimed the previous day.
