Deceiving Her Ears: Ignoring Your Call-Chapter 181: Your Boyfriend Is So Worried About You
During the meeting, Natalie was barely able to focus, distracted several times, and her condition was poor.
When it finally ended, as soon as she got into the elevator, her legs gave way and she fell forward.
"Careful!"
Luckily, a hand reached out from the side and grabbed her arm, holding her steady.
Natalie followed the hand upwards with her gaze and saw the face of the person who helped her. She said calmly, "Thank you."
Tristan Jordan was also at the meeting today.
He noticed Natalie’s strange behavior from the start, so instead of returning to his department after the meeting, he subconsciously followed her.
"Miss Kendall, are you feeling unwell?"
"No."
Natalie withdrew her arm from Tristan’s hand, stepped back, leaned against the elevator wall to stabilize herself.
Tristan looked at her pale complexion, clenching his fingers at his side, speaking in a low tone, "If you’re not feeling well, don’t try to tough it out."
Natalie said nothing, and as soon as the elevator reached the designated floor, she brushed past Tristan and walked out.
After she left, the elevator doors were about to close.
Tristan sighed lightly to himself, a self-deprecating look on his face, and as he was about to press the floor button, suddenly heard a "bang."
He immediately rushed out of the elevator and saw Natalie collapsed on the ground.
"Miss Kendall!"
——
Hospital.
Natalie was still unconscious.
A nurse came to change the IV drip and said to Tristan, "Once this bottle is finished, there won’t be any more. She should wake up soon."
"Okay, thank you."
Tristan thanked the nurse while tucking the blanket around Natalie.
Natalie woke up three hours later.
Her eyes met the unfamiliar ceiling, and the smell of disinfectant lingered around her nose.
She was dazed for a moment before realizing she was in the hospital.
"You’re awake."
A male voice sounded.
She turned her head and saw Tristan sitting by the bedside.
"What happened to me?"
"You fainted."
Tristan picked up the water cup from the bedside table, "Would you like some water?"
Natalie slowly sat up.
As she did, Tristan instinctively reached out to help her, but withdrew his hand before touching her.
Natalie leaned against the headboard, took the cup, and drank it all in one go.
"You had a fever of 39.5 degrees, didn’t you know?"
Tristan took the empty cup, "Want some more?"
"No, thanks." Natalie raised her hand to touch her own forehead
Her temperature was normal.
But she indeed felt weak.
This fever came on strangely.
"Do you want to eat something? Something light, I’ll go buy it."
Tristan said this without giving Natalie a chance to refuse and turned to leave.
Natalie lay back on the pillow, closed her eyes to rest a bit, and vaguely heard her phone ring.
She fumbled for a while until she found it, and answered the call without checking who it was.
"Little Ear."
It wasn’t until Isaac Vaughn’s voice came through the phone that Natalie woke up abruptly, realizing that it was Isaac calling.
She brought the phone to her eyes, fully confirming it was Isaac’s call.
She remained silent, intending to hang up, but suddenly the door to the ward opened, and a nurse came in.
"You’re awake! How are you feeling? Any better? Your boyfriend has been worried about you, keeping vigil by your side."
The nurse smiled and said, "I just bumped into him, he said he was going to buy you porridge. You two have such a good relationship."
Natalie frowned, knowing the nurse misunderstood her relationship with Tristan.
Just as she was about to explain, Isaac’s anxious voice came through the phone: "Little Ear, what’s wrong? Are you sick?"
Natalie looked at the phone in her hand, guessing Isaac probably heard what the nurse said just now.
