Delayed Regrets: He Regretted Only After Her Death-Chapter 114: Just Be Honest About Your Feelings!
Hector Chaucer closed the door.
His tall and graceful figure was reflected in the corridor light.
Tiana Linden stood in front of him.
Under this image of steely tenderness, Tiana appeared somewhat petite.
Tiana was quite surprised and grateful.
"Hector Chaucer, I didn’t expect you to tell stories to kids so vividly."
She had just stood at the door listening for a while.
Even she got immersed in his story.
He used his unique voice to play each character in the book.
The cunning depth of the old captain, the bravery and wit of Charlotte, the sailor’s fear and trepidation, were all brought to life by his varied tone and pace.
The story in the book came alive.
He put so much heart into storytelling.
No wonder Daisy loves him so much.
Tiana couldn’t help but feel a little sad.
Perhaps Daisy has lacked a father’s love since she was little.
That’s why she likes Mr. Chaucer so much.
How wonderful it would be if Daisy could have a patient dad like Hector Chaucer!
Speaking of which, Daisy and Hector Chaucer are truly fated.
When Daisy was still in her womb, everyone thought Hector Chaucer was her father.
Now when Daisy calls Hector Chaucer "Dad," it’s like gaining some fatherly love.
"Hector Chaucer, you can be so gentle and patient with Daisy."
"If you had your own daughter, I wonder how much you would spoil and adore her?"
"Why don’t you hurry up and find a woman to marry and have kids?"
"After all, you like children so much."
Hector Chaucer responded with calm composure:
"I don’t like every kid."
"And it’s not just any woman who can have my children."
As he said this, he kept looking at Tiana.
His gaze was calm and unwavering, yet it never moved away from Tiana.
The atmosphere suddenly became a little strange.
It was as if the air had become still.
Tiana didn’t understand why this man was staring at her so calmly and for so long.
His gaze never shifted.
It seemed like he might be interested in her, but she couldn’t see any emotion in his eyes.
If he’s not interested, then why does he keep staring at her?
Perhaps they had been silent for too long, and Hector Chaucer broke the silence first, asking:
"What are your plans next?"
"Have you thought about finding a dad for Daisy?"
This wasn’t part of Tiana’s plan at all.
Hector Chaucer continued:
"I have quite a few outstanding young men around me."
"If you’re considering it, I can introduce a few for you to choose from."
Tiana waved her hand and laughed, "Forget it, I’m an old woman who’s been in prison, with a daughter, and I’m already thirty. Who would be interested in me?"
Saying this, she yawned.
"Hector Chaucer, thank you for helping me move again today and for lulling Daisy to sleep."
"Take a shower and sleep early, I’m heading back to sleep."
"Good night!"
The woman turned and walked towards her room.
Leaving Hector Chaucer behind, seeing her off with his gaze.
This was the first time in thirty-three years, that Tiana had said good night to him.
There would be many more: Good night!
Hector Chaucer couldn’t help but smile.
The curve in the corners of his mouth was unstoppable.
His cold and austere features suddenly became softer.
Habitually using numbness and coldness to hide himself, Hector Chaucer suddenly seemed much brighter.
It was as if even the night outside the villa brightened up with him.
The night sky was clear.
Stars dotted the sky.
The wind was sweet.
But on the other side of the night.
The air was unbearably bitter.
After five days and four nights, this pair of porcelain dolls was finally repaired by Aiden Grant.
He re-engraved the two lines from back then:
The red thread is already tied.
Hold hands until old age.
The two dolls were standing shoulder to shoulder.
The cracks were long gone.
Just like before, you rely on me, love and sweetness.
Aiden’s eyes showed no sign of clearing from sorrow.
He was the one who had smashed them back then.
Tiana must really hate him.
When he took the porcelain dolls back to Tiana, would she still like them?
The female doll was carefully picked up by Aiden.
It looked very much like Tiana.
Memories flashed, and many past events came back to Aiden.
He believed he and Tiana had a deep emotional foundation.
As long as he was patient enough, Tiana would surely forgive him.
...
The next morning.
Hector Chaucer received a call from Christopher Grant.
"Hector, Jane and I want to see Tiana, but we don’t have her current contact information."
"Could you help us out?"
While drinking his soy milk, Hector Chaucer downed more than half the cup in one gulp.
Yet, his manner of eating breakfast had nothing to do with roughness.
On the contrary, even eating breakfast, he displayed a unique manly charisma.
He set the cup down and said to the person on the other end, "Tiana is right here with me."
Oh?
On the other end of the line, Christopher Grant was a bit surprised.
It was only seven in the morning.
So early.
How did they happen to be together?
Christopher Grant was puzzled, "So early, did you meet by chance?"
Hector Chaucer took a bite of a steamed dumpling, "The mother and daughter are staying with me. Hold on, I’ll let her take the call."
"Who is it?" Tiana asked, a bit bewildered.
Hector Chaucer handed the phone over, "Christopher Grant wants to talk to you."
Since it was Christopher Grant’s call, Tiana had no reason not to take it.
After all, Christopher had helped her a lot from childhood.
During the years she was wrongly imprisoned, everyone else doubted her.
Except for Christopher, who believed in her character.
She was about to take the phone, but her hands were greasy from breaking the fried dough sticks.
Seeing her wipe her hands, Hector Chaucer moved the phone closer to her ear.
"Just listen, I’ll hold it for you."
Tiana quickly answered, "Christopher."
Christopher Grant was very excited on the phone.
Since learning she was alive, he hadn’t officially met Tiana.
At the wedding of James Linden and Sharon Sullivan a couple of days ago, Tiana made a bold return, and Christopher only got a brief glance.
There wasn’t even time for a word.
Now hearing the familiar - Christopher.
Christopher Grant’s eyes filled with tears.
He responded excitedly and quickly said:
"Tiana, knowing you’re alive and well makes me so happy."
"It’s my fault, I couldn’t convince them when you were seriously ill."
"I’m sorry, Tiana."
If not for Hector Chaucer, she would have been a pile of bones in a grave.
Christopher’s voice was choked with emotion, and Tiana heard it.
She couldn’t help but console, "Christopher, here I am, alive and well."
Christopher sighed with relief, "Tiana, Jane and I would like to invite you for a meal, Joshua also misses Daisy very much, are you free tonight?"
Tiana readily agreed, "Yes, I’m free."
Christopher was delighted, "Then see you tonight; I’ll have a driver pick you and Daisy up."
Tiana: "Okay."
Seeing her fall silent, Hector Chaucer took the phone back from her ear, "Finished?"
"Mm."
Tiana continued to break the fried dough sticks, dipping them into soy milk.
She wasn’t accustomed to Western-style breakfast.
She still preferred the Chinese breakfast.
With her head buried in soy milk filled with fried dough, she heard Hector Chaucer say, "So you’re not coming home for dinner tonight?"
Tiana looked up: "Mm, no need to prepare dinner for Daisy and me."
Hector Chaucer complained mildly, "Just when I don’t have to eat alone, I’ll be lonely again tonight."
Tiana: "It’s not because you’re afraid of loneliness that you let Daisy and me move in, is it?"
Hector replied with a question, "Is there anybody else aside from you who’s reliable and wouldn’t hurt me?"
True.
All of Hector Chaucer’s relatives wanted his life.
She was both a friend and a relative of Hector Chaucer.
While eating breakfast, she reassured him, "Alright, Daisy and I will be back early tomorrow to keep you company."
After breakfast, Tiana and Catherine Armstrong had an appointment to take Daisy and Laura to kindergarten together.
After they left, Gordon Lowell asked, "Family Head, why don’t you just express your feelings directly to Miss Linden?"
