Ground Conquest-2

The demonic army was divided into five corps, led by A, G, Batsago, O, and R and sent out to Earth. Each of them exuded the power of Predation, so even if they died, they would be absorbed by other demons in the legion instead of giving experience to humans.

“The legion shall strengthen as the battle continues. Truly they are worthy of Satan’s name!”

“G, show some moderation. You’re not going out for a walk.”

“I’m just a little excited after such a long time. Oh, be careful not to kill all the humans. It will only give power to the Lucifer you hate so much.”

“Huh.” The large army crossed through the gates into Earth. The faces looked somewhat crazed with joy, but I understood their feelings. Soon after, the underground was nearly empty, all the demons and Rebellion having left.

“Fate.”

“Oh, it’s nothing. We’ll go to…” I turned at the voice of Rain calling me, but he shook his head with a smile.

“I wasn’t trying to rush you. I prefer to move slowly myself.”

“I see.” We shared a laugh at his words.

“It’s a shame we don’t have the time to relax.”

“It can’t be helped. Not everyone gives me the time to relax.” Ever since opening my eyes as a goblin, I barely had the chance to rest properly. Even when I shared a drink with Rain or spent time with L, there was always something else in the corner of my mind. Perhaps it would be impossible for me to take proper rest until the Lucifer and Heaven problem had been solved. But Rain seemed to be thinking about something slightly different.

“Are you okay with Fate? As the strength and memories in the soul return, Fate is regaining his original form. Personally, I’m happy about it, but I wonder what it is like to you.”

“…” I was speechless. I hadn’t stopped thinking about it. Had he not asked me first, I might’ve asked him.

“Fate has always been Fate. What the hell are you talking about?”

“Isn’t it certain that Fate’s disposition is changing…or, rather, coming back?” Rain calmly refuted the words L intervened with, but she just laughed.

“He hasn’t changed. His thoughts, decisions, the way he looks at me…! All of that has been there from the beginning! Don’t bullshit!”

“That’s not what I’m trying to say…”

“I’m fine.” If this continued, infighting would arise before we reached Earth. I reached out with that thought to stop them. Both of them were right. Some parts had changed, and some hadn’t. Rain reacted with anxiety to my sudden changes because he valued me as a human. That was the Rain I encountered in the store. On the other hand, L worried about my feelings.

“Fate, as a demon, as one with power, you shouldn’t worry about your identity.”

“I know that well. Don’t worry. My growth just accelerated for a couple of reasons, so it feels a bit awkward still.”

“Fate…”

“It’s okay now.” As I watched them worry over me, my worries melted away. They were considerate of me, but in the end, I could judge my changes more accurately than they could.

“Just as Rain affirmed me, who was a human, I also do. They’re both me, and if there’s only one left at the end of all this, that will also be me.” Rain tilted his head at me in an oddly cute gesture from a middle-aged looking man.

“Because I can become anything to survive.” I opened the gate. The legion of demons must already be sweeping through the human battlefields, shouting my name, so now I had to appear.

“Let’s go end this war.” Instead of leading the army, I arrived with a small number of elite troops. A battle on a terrible scale awaited us. And, of course, everyone’s eyes caught on to us who appeared in the middle of it all. I was no longer hiding my presence.

“This…!”

“He is…?! I can’t breathe…!” The closest humans had trouble breathing, even though they exceeded level 160. However, if I didn’t apply this much pressure, the fighting wouldn’t stop.

“So this is Earth…where Fate spent twenty years.”

“It’s a little dirty. The level of combat power here is higher than that of Hater. Why?” L and Rain carefully looked around as they spoke. The humans surrounding us were tense, holding their weapons toward us. They had been exposed to all sorts of things since the Great Fusion, but our appearance was undoubtedly strange despite that. Rain was dressed in a butler’s outfit, and chains hung all over him, whereas L was dressed in a gothic dress. A silence had taken over the battlefield, which just moments prior had been filled with the screams of its combatants and the sound of conflict.

“Stop fighting. You don’t need to anymore.”

“…What?”

“What are you saying?” My voice wasn’t loud, but it spread throughout the battlefield. Many tilted their heads at me, laughing before they raised their weapons to continue.

Each one who raised a weapon staggered and knelt in place.

“Ooh?!”

“Wow?!”

“Drop your weapons.” L whispered, raising a hand. Her power of Fascination spread across the battlefield, powerful enough to instantly kill those who were affected if she wished.

“I won’t be so kind next time.”

“Fuck!”

“Kill those from the other countries…” The battlefield was so wide I couldn’t see the end of it. Nevertheless, her power unfolded without delay over each human on it. Her ability wasn’t activated around her, but rather responded based on the individual actions taken after her words affected them. The second they were struck by her power, they had made themselves her enemies. There was no way out now except to obey or die. They soon realized that. The moment they picked up a weapon, their heart would burst.

“Run…”

“I can’t help it, that’s no human.”

“Maybe it’s a goddess, come to stop us…”

“If we don’t fight, we’ll die…”

Only

“Put your weapons down, fools.” The atmosphere changed in an instant. Humans hurried to disarm to survive.

“Yes, now you are listening.”

“She might be a goddess.”

“Beautiful…”

“Are we safe…?” It quickly spread all over the battlefield. The noise made by various weapons clattering on the ground was sweet enough to make one cry. Now, at least here, no humans were fighting. The situation had cleared up in minutes, thanks to L’s power.

“She’s amazing. She can do so much that I can’t. Although I can’t appreciate the thoughts that lay behind her actions.” I laughed quietly as I listened to Rain.

“Fate, it’s your turn now.” L grabbed lightly onto my sleeve. I nodded, stepping forward, and activating my skill. Since evolving, my Domination skill had almost no limits.

We headed onto the next battlefield three minutes later. Wherever we went, there would never be another battle.
