Chapter 35: Chapter 35: Exorcised Demon?

The door opened and the family saw a group of monks wearing dark brown robes tied with thick ropes.

Their faces were hidden under the shadows of their hoods. In their hands they carried prayer beads. πšπ•£π•–πšŽπš πšŽπš‹πš—π¨π―π•–π•.π•”π¨π•ž

The moment they appeared they all chanted at the same time, they voice echoed in harmony.

The family couldn’t tell if they were speaking Latin or another language but Danny had learnt Latin.

He knew this was not Latin but he couldn’t identify which language it was. As soon the monks chanted, the demon retreated with a scream.

The monks came in and didn’t say a single word to the family. Before Danny could say anything somebody followed behind the monks.

It was a priest of the church, unlike the monks he wasn’t bound by the oath of silence.

He greeted the family and explained why they were there. Apparently a week ago then had received word of a demon lurking in this house.

" I apologise for out delayed arrival but we needed preparations as it would be foolish to face a demon without any."

The priest smiled gently at the family and told them to wait outside. Danny dragged his entire family outside.

Inside the house, the priest took out a bottle of salt and holy water. He drew a magic circle using the salt.

Then sprinkled holy water on himself before proceeding to follow the monks. Demons were tricky to deal with.

A single monk would never be enough to exorcise one and so they brought 20 monks and so the priest was relaxed.

Before coming here they had surveyed first and were certain the demon was merely a low level demon.

It was a level 1 unnamed demon, had it been a named demon even as a level 1 they never would’ve dared come here.

They would’ve requested assistance from the main branch or bring more than a hundred monks.

They proceeded inside the house, it was hard and quiet, eerily quiet but that was how demons operated.

They played with you mind and then consume you, he would never let a demon play with his mind.

It wasn’t long before they found the demon, it had taken a form of a monk to deceive them but it evil could not be hidden.

One of the monks immediately started casting a spell. The demon roared loudly and the house shook.

Its body twisted and the sound of breaking bones echoed through the dark house, they lit up a soft light using magic.

Because of that the demon couldn’t switch the light off. It crawled on the walls and the roof and tried to run away.

Another monk cast his own spell causing the demon to roar with pain and run even faster, they chased after it but it disappeared in a blink of an eye.

This was how occult magic worked, it didn’t create fancy light, it was silent but powerful and very effective against demons.

Each spell cast by the monks hurt and limits the demon’s demonic power. Of course these spells alone weren’t enough to defeat it.

To exorcise a demon a magic circle was necessary but he had already drawn the magic circle.

All that was needed now was to lead the demon inside the circle and trap it. He followed after the monks as they chased the demon.

One thing they’ve learnt at the church was never to split up when exorcising a demon, that makes you easier prey.

So they stuck together and continued chasing the monk across the entire house. Its abilities made it hard to pinpoint.

But they had placed hexes around the house so it couldn’t leave even if it wanted to, it was trapped here with them.

Suddenly he found himself alone in the basement, he had no idea how he got here and he knew immediately it was an illusion.

He had expected this, unlike the monks he was not an occult mage but he was a devout believer and no demon could have his mind.

He uttered a silent prayer and his mind cleared. He smiled, he knew it, he was beloved by God.

How could a lowly demon claim him when his soul and mind belonged to the lord. Drunk in his own pride he continued following the monks.

They found the demon back in the living room, it had taken its true form appearing as a rotten head of an ox.

The demon was massive with giant teeth and ox horns. Its muscles were as thick as logs.

It looked like a battle demon which meant its talent when it comes to illusions she mind games were not powerful.

While demons did share some abilities, the differ in talent. There were demons who were good at tricks.

These were the type of demons who usually haunt houses, they had expected this one to be that type.

Those demons are hard to deal with, their ability to play with people’s mind was very powerful.

Then there were battle demons, they differ in size but they had one thing in common, they were all physically strong.

Of them, the demons of the wrath lineage were the strongest but those were royal demons.

Now lowly demons who play in human houses. As the muscular demon wreathed in agony, the priest drew closer.

He felt proud, as the leader of this expedition, being able to subdue the demon so easily was something he was proud off.

The demon was surrounded by 20 monks, all of them casting the same spell. Its power was being drained with each passing moment.

It was only a matter of time before it was too weak to do anything and then he would personally drag it to the magic circle.

While he couldn’t use the magic circle since he was not a mage, it had been personally drawn by him.

Another source of pride, as expected, in less than 30 minutes the demon succumbed. The monks helped him drag it by it foot.

The massive demon weighed as heavy as a cow. After it had entered the magic circle, the monks exorcised it.

A pit of fire appeared inside the circle, the ground seemed to give in and it was sucked inside while screaming.

Then everything ended, they had banished the demon back to hell, he was a hero. The priest was lost in his own self importance when the door opened.

He turned and saw the family enter the house with hopeful expressions.

" Father, you called us, is it done?" The man asked.

" Indeed it is done my child, wait, I didn’t call you." Suddenly the door shut close behind the family locking them inside.

" No."
