Depraved Hero's Path: Enslaved Monster Girl Harem In The Apocalypse!-Chapter 28: What’s Up With Her?
Chapter 28 - What's Up With Her?
"Can't believe I'm taking care of a bunch of entitled rich kids." Elijah sighed.
"This better not be aimed at me." Marianne crossed her arms.
"Well, you go to see this fancy university, don't you?"
"Sure do." She nodded.
"Looks like it's expensive as hell."
"It sure is." Marianned nodded proudly with a smirk.
He stared silently for a moment.
"No way you're a student here." Elijah muttered as he looked away.
"Ha?! Why do you say that?!"
"Just a feeling." He shrugged.
"Isn't Katherine and Chloe knowing me enough to prove it??"
"Nope. You're too proud of this university costing a lot of money."
"So? Why shouldn't I be proud of that?"
"Hm... Most people who go to places like these would respond apologetically, scratching their heads while arguing that it's not that expensive or that there are better more expensive options." He whispered while scratching his chin.
"Spare me the pseudo-psychological bs." Marianne scoffed.
"You're here on a scholarship, aren't you?"
"..."
"You're not paying the tuition, are you?"
"..."
"I knew it-"
"Shut up!"
Elijah looked at the horizon for a bit. They were standing on the Sports complex's roof.
"There are less than 900 participants, when the place looks like it's made for ten times that number. What's up with that?" He asked.
"That's because today is a Sunday." Katherine said as she walked up the stairs, joining them.
"Oh, right..." Elijah muttered. "The Apocalypse descending on the Lord's day, huh? That's kind of comical."
"Hm." Katherine nodded. "Do you think there is a relation there? Like... God is punishing us?"
"I don't think so, but anything is impossible." Elijah shrugged.
"Maybe the Gods got bored and decided to send some trouble our way." Marianne muttered. "Maybe they want to watch us fight and..." Her eyebrows rose as she realized.
"You got it." Elijah said with a smile.
Marianne stared at him with a frown.
"If there are indeed Gods, and they're the ones doing this... Don't you think they'll take offense?"
"Take offense? And do what, curse me?"
"For example." Marianne shrugged.

"What exactly are you talking about?" Katherine asked, scratching her head.
Elijah walked up to her and put his arm around her shoulder.
"Marianne just understood the point." He chuckled. "Did you leave her with Léa?"
"Yes." The blushing Katherine nodded. "Since there are still some Wolves, I left that area for her."
"Good."
Marianne shaded her eyes as she looked at the plaza at the center of campus.
"Quite a crowd."
"You did a good job gathering everyone, Katherine."
"Well... It was pretty simple since she was there." Katherine pursed her lips. "I don't really like the fact that she doesn't have that leash around her neck anymore. I can't bring myself to trust her."
"Yeah? We'll put it back afterwards. People wouldn't be inclined to follow us if we show them a human-looking person on a leash."
"Right." Katherine nodded.
'W-What's developing here exactly?' Marianne thought with a frown, seeing them standing so close to one another.

'The Gods got bored, and sent trouble our way. They want to see us fight.' Elijah thought to himself as he walked through the crowd. 'That's the understanding that most people will reach pretty quickly. I doubt the truth is as simple as that. But in any case...'
"Ugh..." Katherine struggled to make her way through the crowd. "Thanks." She said as Elijah took hold of her wrist and pulled her closer.
In the crowd of more than eight hundred people, they stood side by side, his left arm in her right arm.
"Time to end this Quest."
"Yeah..." Katherine whispered, before going momentarily silent. "Can I ask you something, Elijah?"
"Sure." He answered with a nod as Zarath made her way through the crowd, telling everyone to leave empty space at the center of the crowd.
"You said you have no affiliations with the university."
"That's right. I was outside of every Main Quest Location, so I was told to head here."
"You were told... To come to us."
"Yeah."
"What about before that? Where were you?"
Elijah scratched his head before raising his gaze upward.
"Beyond the clouds. Well, until the plane started its descent. I don't want to talk about it though."
Katherine nodded, looked away, and held his arm a bit tighter.
'The plane... How far did he travel before making it here? Did he come from another city? Another country? The other side of the world?' Her glistening eyes couldn't help but move to catch another glimpse of his face. 'It must be fate that brought us together. It must be fate that brought him to us... An Angel sent to help and save us. Sent from a foreign land far, far... Oh, no. Oh, no, no, no... I'm starting to blush, I can feel it...'
Once enough space was left at the center of the crowd,
'The more power I use, the hungrier I will get...' Zarath raised her hands, and four magic circles appeared. 'You better take responsibility, Master!'
"Those chains..."
"Is that magic?"
"Damn, that's sick! And she's so hot!"
"I know, right?"
"I really didn't want to leave the Safe Zone, but she was so hot that..."
The chains encircled the empty space at the center of the ground and,
"W-What the hell?"
"What is it?"
"The Map! The Boss Monsters!"
"Wait, let me... Holy fuck! They're coming towards us!"
At once, all three remaining Boss Monsters started moving towards the center of the college campus, towards the crowd that had been formed!
'Good job, Zarath.' Elijah said telepathically.
The Succubus, standing at the center of the crowd, blushed intensely. She bit her right hand while her hand moved towards the crotch.
"Hey..."
"What's happening to her...?"
She could feel her insides tingling, aching for him.
'That's no fair, Master.' Zarath moaned internally. 'Your voice appearing inside of me like this... Is making me...!'
"What's up with her?" Marianne asked with a frown, arriving by Elijah and Katherine's side.
They shrugged.
Fortunately, this acted as a good enough distraction.
The crowd screamed in horror, as it was surrounded by all sides.
Three Boss Monsters stood around them, their eyes blazing with fury and killing intent.
