Desire's Vessel: My Lewd Reincarnation-Chapter 40: A Divine Challenge
"Come on Prince Egil, you don’t think its uncultured to attack a man while he is walking up to the alter..." Zaja said with a cheerful smile, and with a dramatic spin, he pulled off his shiny white mask.
His eyes flashed red for just one third of a second and the audience stood in shock and awe, scattering in the veil of darkness.
"You?" recognizing the mysterious advisor who had provided him with the tools to keep the King and Queen Mother busy, Egil staggered, his eyes full of utter confusion.
"Ladies and gentlemen of the Ironforge Dominion..." Zaja started. "The priest..." Zaja greeted, delivering a slight bow to the priest who was still rooted to one spot, not daring to move an inch as he bore sight to the terrifying Red Veil Arcane Beast duo Zaja had summoned.
"Every body sit tight and nobody move, I am merely about to deliver a quick lesson to all of you..."
"This is a ceremony of the highest order within the country boundaries and you all have performed the rituals, therefore in no distant time, the god Helios will make his grant entry..."
Barely had Zaja finished his words that a trio of pure white flames coiled up the statue and lighting struck from the open days sky, through both veils and lighting the statue on fire.
To everyone watching, blinging rays shot out of the statue’s eyes, firing into the distance and the rays were so intense and hot that it destroyed both veils that had been previously lowered.
The hot, golden flames ran through the sky of Emberfall Citadel, and when everyone saw that ray of light, they knew what had been awakened. It meant that Helios himself had manifested due to a ritual performed by someone of high status.
It was a true divine feat, as Helios was only known to speak or manifest through his vessel— the Pope.
Of all the gods and deities that ruled the Ethereal Realm, one stood above the rest, Helios stood prominent above all.
Being the god of the sun, Helios was known as one of the most ferocious god in existence, a deity so obsessed with sensual dances, coitus rituals and blood sacrifices that were highly respected by the worshipers of the religion.
A massive white cloud took shape above the venue, blocking out the sun and the sky light.
"You all hold your head quite high..." The resounding, celestial voice boomed out of the statue. The voice sounded as if it had several or even millions of voices backing it up and speaking in coordinated unison.
Every one present took initiative and dropped to their knees and just at that second, a circumference of hot, golden energy erupted from the statue and obliterated any and everything that stood taller than waist level.
All has fallen to their knees and non were exempted, However one man refused to bow and even at that he was unaffected by the circumference of massive energy.
Egar and Naga formed a defensive layer before Zaja, preventing him from being affected.
’You are a direct descendant of the lost Jester Clan, that’s why you possess the ability to control Red Veil Arcane Beasts...’
The same voice rang out, but this time only in Zaja’s mind.
’You have performed your ritual well and I am well pleased, but why should I hacken to your request even knowing fully well that you are a Vessel to my subordinate...’
’i will lay down two choices for you Dazzai scion... Give me your soul and become my vessel so you may receive my powers and sacraments, or die for disturbing me in vain.’ the deadpan voice echoed in his mind continuously, and the next moment, he appeared in a white room, standing before a blinding pillar of gold flames.
In the middle of the flames, a shadowy figure hovered, facing Zaja with a pair of golden oppressive eyes.
Zaja seemed to be unbothered and he simply smirked to himself and sat down with his hands joined in a difficult mudra.
He closed his eyes and bowed his head slightly to pay respects to the almighty Helios, God of the sun.
"Hallow be thy name, all mighty Helios, I heard your requests, seeing as I am a stronger person to be your vessel in comparison to your current vessel..."
"I However have a much more simpler counter request to offer you my Lord..."
Zaja said, still maintaining his bow.
The white expanse seemed to stretch even more as if it moved in accordance to Helios’s intrigue and feelings.
’Speak... Jester child...’ the celestial voice boomed.
Zaja raised his head and stood up, looking at the silhouette dead on. "Grant me but three wishes and I will be your willing vessel after the end of the decade..."
A short stretch of silence seemed to follow as Zaja finished speaking.
’Three wishes? That is all you ask for?’ the voice came again.
"Yes oh gracious, three wishes... And after the decade, I will become your Vessel and your manifestation will flow throughout my bloodline here on forth" Zaja said with a mimic genuflect.
’I however have a counter offer...’ the god said. The statement seemed to put Zaja in a state of shock, there was nothing more tastier than this deal he had just offered the sun god, what more could he want.
’You seem to have high affinity due to your ancient lineage and your service to the lewd god— Dazzai. I however, want to taste that affinity and it goes like this...’
Another long stretch of silence rippled through the space as cold sweat began running down Zaja’s forehead.
’I will materialize as my previous vessels in one of the Oasis Planes, you and I will engage in mortal combat, and if you manage to defeat me, you get your three wishes and you can forget giving me your soul...’
’However, if I emerge victorious, you will surrender your soul to me here and now... Do I make myself clear... Jester child?’
Has Helios gone mad? Why would he want to fight a mere mortal just so he could have the chance to control Zaja’s soul.
Zaja was no stranger to having humans trying to take advantage of him, but this? Helios is a literal god! With the powers of the sun at his feet and the entire nations of Ironforge Dominion and Ember Crown Empire worshipping him, he was indestructible.
