Destined with You-Chapter 1979 - 1994: Only After Missing Do We Learn to Cherish (3)
Bai Jingqing saw the two return, and it seemed they had reconciled. He was genuinely happy for them both.
He envied his older brother; as long as the one you love is with you, even the occasional quarrel is a happiness.
Gu Qingxin looked at Bai Jingqing, feeling a bit of pity. The current Bai Jingqing always exuded a sense of sadness, so intense it made one feel heartache.
She didn’t dare to look at him again and took Xiao Yi to play with the General’s family.
After dinner, Gu Qingxin decided to have a talk with Bai Jingqing.
When Gu Qingxin found him, he was sitting in the back garden daydreaming. She called him from a distance, and Bai Jingqing, hearing the sound, quickly turned his head to wipe away the traces of tears.
"Doctor Bai, you’ve chosen a fine spot; it’s quiet here." Gu Qingxin carried a pot of hot tea, placed it on the table, and poured a cup for each of them.
"I’m really glad to see you and my brother reconcile." Bai Jingqing’s voice was low.
Gu Qingxin sighed deeply in her heart, Aunt Zhou had told her about his mother’s visit, and she could tell when Aunt Zhou was talking that she was very angry.
Gu Qingxin couldn’t understand how there could be such mothers in this world; this was when Doctor Bai was most lonely and helpless, yet his mother mercilessly rubbed salt in his wounds.
"Thank you for always being there to support us." Gu Qingxin smiled slightly.
Bai Jingqing’s lips curled bitterly as Gu Qingxin said, "Have a cup of tea."
"Thank you." Bai Jingqing took it and drank a sip, not expecting it to be sweet.
"When life is too bitter, I like to drink something sweet, and then I strive harder to move forward."
"It’s really sweet." Bai Jingqing took another sip, and the warm sweet tea made his cold body feel much better.
"I know recent events have hit you hard, but do you really want to keep wallowing like this? You said Qianqian would come back. Do you really want her to find a desolate version of you when she returns?" Gu Qingxin took a sip of tea.
"How am I even a qualified doctor now?" Bai Jingqing’s voice was full of bitterness.
"That’s not your fault! Nor does it reflect on your medical skills. In mine and Qianqian’s heart, you’ve always been the best doctor in the world, the most responsible director... Losing you would only mean more patients losing the chance to be healed."
"..."
"Qianqian hopes you can be well, and when she returns, I believe she’d want to see an even stronger you!"
This was Bai Qianqian’s request for her to encourage Bai Jingqing after some time.
This was something only she could accomplish.
"She will come back, right?" Bai Jingqing looked at Gu Qingxin.
Gu Qingxin nodded vigorously, "She will, because Qianqian loves you so much that she’d give up her life. She fought hard for her freedom just to be with you. Do you think she wouldn’t fight to come back to you?"
Bai Jingqing’s eyes stung, tears rolling down. "Thank you. I know what I need to do now. I will definitely make myself stronger, so I can be worthy of someone so wonderful and strong as her."
Beiming Han stood by the window, watching the girl earnestly encouraging Bai Jingqing in the garden. Her profile was as beautiful as a painting, and his expression softened.
His greatest concern was Bai Jingqing, and this girl was truly his treasure. With her encouragement, he believed Bai Jingqing would gradually recover.
