DEVIANT-Chapter 424 - A call from Danny
424 A call from Danny
Buzzz!
Damon’s tone was low and his voice calm but Alex couldn’t help but shiver. The image he saw the other time returned and he couldn’t help but feel disturbed. He didn’t think what he saw was an illusion, it was more like a revelation.
He wasn’t far from death but at whose hands?
Because it definitely won’t be from Damon’s hands.
He could only silently watch and Damon turned to leave with heavy steps that made the pavements bellow crack. With the dragon scales littered all over his body, it felt like he weighed over ten tons.
Alex stood in silence as he watched Damon walk away and slowly his figure vanished alongside that of Rose and the Gravity spirit. Strangely Damon didn’t know he wasn’t the only reason why Alex let them go.
Alex could feel two murderous gazes fixated on his back and they belonged to Blink and Armanthos hidden above the clouds.
“Sighs... I really have no allies in this world... It is hard to work when everyone is sentimental” Alex sighed as his body slowly faded away into the darkness around him.
He has already damaged Damon badly which would require time to heal since there is absence of mana in this world. Plus he could ascertain Damon’s true strength now and he has to say. This kid is terrifying.
.....
Damon was clearly stronger than him when he was a newly made Deity and he was probably stronger than him when he was still a mortal. The kid is superior to him in both aspects but the difference is unlike Damon, he has extremely capable allies around him.
Allies at his level or even above it. That is the only reason he will never be able to lose to the death mage in the final fight. There is so much one man can do.
**************
While the trio walked away, Rose and the Gravity spirit remained behind Cecile gazing at him skeptically. They were wondering what this kid did to make such a powerful foe retreat.
They heard the conversation but they couldn’t make anything out of it. It was simply Cecile who was already in a bad condition, threatening to risk his life against a far stronger foe and making him to back down. But thinking about it, the dragon inheritance is not something to joke with. If there was something they were sure of, this kid wasn’t a mere four-star being. He was a four-star being touching the walls of the fifth-star rating.
The duo could only sigh silently as they didn’t know how to respond to this. The streets they followed were not lonely. Demonic forces of various shapes and sizes stood aside and watched them leave without making a move. It was clear the enemy really planned to let them go. But what was more troubling were the civilians within their homes and peeping at the trio with fearful eyes.
With a glance, one could tell they were pleading for help but Rose knew it was useless. They barely made it out of this alive, attempting to save these mortals only gives the enemy a reason to forgo the original plans of letting them go and go after them with murderous intentions.
Wam!
Damon who was walking away with Rose and the Gravity spirit behind him suddenly paused and collapsed.
Seeing this Rose and the Gravity spirit paled. Only now did they realize Damon was in a bad condition even before they left. How could they believe he would be able to complete the journey in this condition.
The duo quickly ran over to help him on his feet but then they realized he was out cold. His breathing was shallow and his heart beats seemed slower than usual.
“We need to get him back to the capital now!” Rose said with a pale look on her face
***************
Alex had returned to the main headquarters of the rebellion, retiring to his room without bothering to speak to anyone. he could already tell Blink and Armanthos harbored animosity towards him but he didn’t care.
In the end, he is still the strongest being here so no one can harm him. Right now they have no other choice but to follow his orders. He proved to them today not to get their hopes up.
Damon Ross is someone he will be able to deal with in the distant future.
It was practically an empty king-sized room with a large bed at the center. To think a day would come when he would have to live in a castle which is something he had only read about in books when he was little.
Alex strode to his bed and as soon as he sat down he felt his consciousness forcefully pull out.
*****************
Just like before it was a dark room but this time it was a man in white in the center. His white hair was dyed red with blood and his body was riddled with wounds both deep and shallow.
His eyes were as white as snow and he carried a dignified aura in him even though he was in a bad condition.
Damon and Alex shot each other stunned glances before Alex ran towards the figure at the center of the darkness with a worried expression on his face. Seeing this Damon was stunned and almost instantly a thought crossed his mind.
_Could this be the second half of the sin of Gluttony?_
While Alex was dressed in complete black and this man was dressed in complete white. The duo had the same aura and now they were together, Damon couldn’t feel their individual auras. Instead, what he felt was one strong and terrifying aura surging from the duo.
Buzz!
His heart trembled and he took a step back instinctively as Alex reached the man and their aura merged forming a cage image of a three faced deity with three faces and over thirty hands performing various symbols. This mighty being was half black and half white.
“The sin of Gluttony!” Damon paled.
For the first time, he saw what he is going against.
