“After struggling for so long to achieve this level of strength, it’s only natural that I understand how to manipulate the strings of faith of those weaker than myself. If you understand what I mean when I say I gave your people an offer that cannot be refused...” Alex said casually while walking through the blood-drenched roads of Langath.

With his help, his soldiers had taken control of the gates and pushed deeper but they seemed to have hit a solid wall.

They weren’t progressing and they were being slaughtered at an astonishing rate. Even now Alex knew there must be someone else involved. Someone like him or at least at the deity level.

But if he acted like he didn’t expect this then he must be a fool. After forcing the soldiers of the God of Death to attack the southern province of the empire it was only natural things like this happened afterward.

“Do you think you have won?” the cold voice to the God of death rang in his head and Alex revealed a cold smile.

Even though he wasn’t present in the southern province where the God of death is hiding, he could see everything happenings within this world. As a deity, he was present and absent everywhere so it wasn’t easy for him to find out things happening around him.

He could see the arrogant figure of the God of death standing with his hands hidden within his robes. Even when pushed to a disadvantaged position, the little brat still has the guts to remain cocky.

“Do you not understand? To have gotten to this level I have been winning wars. I alone fought against plants and worlds. Alex Briggs is a thousand years ahead of you boy... You can never hope to win. Kill him, Klien” Alex said with a cold face.

As soon as he was done speaking he cut off all connection with that part of the battlefield. He has already given the subordinates of death a reason to take their task seriously.

His forces have only managed to secure the gates but nothing more, right ahead of them was a massive army standing strong a few miles away.

As powerful as he is, his strength is still restricted by this world. Leading these armies are deities as well. Even though he was stronger, they weren’t weak.

Alex frowned as he walked up the mounted platform where Cassius stood, watching over his army of beasts and creatures. He looked ahead and guessed the enemy had just about twenty thousand soldiers but they have far less on their side.

Because of Alex’s direct interference in this battle, they brought only about ten thousand soldiers with them.

“About thirty thousand reserve soldiers are waiting for the battle to start. They have over fifty thousand ok their side” Alex said to Cassius and nothing more.

He stood in the distance and watched everything ahead of him with a deep frown. He didn’t think the empire would bluster these many forces just to deal with them.

“I dare you to step into my northern province... Let me see how long you last against my minions” A cold get feminine voice rang from above.

Hearing this Alex looked up only to meet the gaze of a massive blood-red eyeball gazing down at him from the sky. It was gazing at him intently with different energies surging within it just like the death mage.

“The first failure in the creation of the sin of Greed... It explains why you are so eager to gather all these people together to serve under you. Going as far as working with old enemies. A man without principles can never win against me” Alex said with a disdainful flash in his eyes.

He looked at the chaos taking place above and he couldn’t help but frown. This being failed to become the sin of greed after its ascension so it lay in wait for the one that will succeed.

When this one succeeded it descended but it failed to consume the sin of Greed who chose to detonate his soul rather than let the enemy win.

“You... Bold... You are bold, I give you that!” The Beyond said with anger swelling in its heart but Alex didn’t care.

“Hmph! Eve sent me to reclaim the sin of Greed. I will get rid of you first and awaken him. A reject like you shouldn’t cause any more trouble if you were wise to walk out of the scuffle in one piece” Alex threatened and he felt suppressed fear swelling within the Beyond causing the smile on his face to widen.

“The real sin of greed I met is fearless... This explains why you are a failure and he is not” Alex said with a cruel smile on his face.

Only after saying this the did sky clear up and only then did he realize that the world around him had been paused. Only after the sky cleared up did everything begin moving again.

“Not bad...” Alex said with a calm look on his face.

Damon could only pull people into a personal pocket dimension which is amazing but the Beyond literarily paused time just to have a conversation with him.
