The "thoughts" flowing into my mind were chaotic and fragmented, far from being complete wisdom, more akin to a series of instinctive keywords, and clearly, these "thoughts" came from the cats before me—possibly one, or perhaps a collective response from the entire group.

Yu Sheng's expression froze for a moment, and he suddenly looked up.

Beside him, Hu Li was already watching nervously, afraid that something would happen when Yu Sheng interacted with the "cats," and she quickly spoke up, "Savior, are you alright?"

As she spoke, she stuffed her two tails under her arms, ready to unleash the Fox Radish Machine Gun at any sign of trouble.

"There's an invader," Yu Sheng said, standing and pressing Hu Li's tail, "in the alley—the cats are hiding from them."

Little Red Riding Hood instinctively cast her gaze towards the path outside the door, but nothing suspicious could be seen in the fog-hazed alley. Nevertheless, she immediately directed the Wolf Pack to fan out around the bookstore, starting to check all the shadowed crevices.

Meanwhile, she quickly asked, "What kind of invader?"

"The cats couldn't say, they only have the simplest 'instincts,' not even considered consciousness," Yu Sheng frowned, watching as the pile of cats in the corner quickly contracted into a dense shadow ball, with most of their eyes closed, only a few emitting pale glows nervously looking outside, "even with the King, communication would be unclear."

Little Red Riding Hood furrowed her brow in confusion, "Since when could you understand what these 'cats' in the Dark Alley mean?"

Yu Sheng thought for a moment, uncertainly stroking his chin, "… I suspect I got these cats riled up unknowingly…"

Little Red Riding Hood: "…?"

Speaking, Yu Sheng had already left the corner, checked around other parts of the bookstore, then exited the door, returning to the Dark Alley. His gaze swept around and noticed the fog in the alley had somehow grown thicker.

Amidst the swirling mist, the buildings across the road seemed to have moved further away.

This Exotic Realm was undergoing an undocumented change— the alley was widening.

"I don't know exactly what's going on but I feel something's amiss," Erin became increasingly tense, holding a frying pan in one hand and clutching Yu Sheng's hair nervously with the other, "Yu... Yu Sheng, do you feel something approaching? And it's suddenly freezing around us."

"I feel it too; seems like we 'triggered' something the moment we entered the bookstore," Yu Sheng frowned, simultaneously spinning various thoughts rapidly in his mind.

Entities in the Exotic Realm operate based on rules and instincts but rarely show fear or retreat, unless they are special individuals with complex intelligence. Yet the cats who hiss at anything in the Dark Alley clearly don't have such high intelligence—yet now they're all hiding in the old bookstore. Why is that?

Did the invader possess characteristics that specifically suppress them?

Something that doesn't bleed or even have flesh and blood?

The cats must have fought the invader… They were driven into the old bookstore under suppression… The invader cannot be observed by the naked eye, and can change the surrounding environment…

"Did the records mention what those 'human-like entities' appearing in the deep layers of the Dark Alley look like?" Yu Sheng suddenly asked.

"No detailed descriptions," Little Red Riding Hood, mounted on a wolf, replied quickly, "Witnesses said those things can become invisible, with vague human-like silhouettes occasionally seen during combat. Very difficult to handle; seasoned Spirit Realm detectives barely escape with half their lives…"

Yu Sheng furrowed his brow; the limited intelligence offered little analysis, yet combining the clues uncovered along the way, some vague speculation was already emerging in his mind. And at that moment, Luna, who remained vigilant of her surroundings, suddenly reacted.

Before anyone could react, Luna swiftly turned her gaze to a direction, and then she leapt, her silhouette ghostly through the mist, blade piercing a section of air.

The mist suddenly twisted, icy malice losing its cover, a tall humanoid silhouette emerged from the fog, raising a Heavy Sword to block Luna's blade, emitting a piercing metallic noise.

A hollow, towering Brass Knight stumbled backward several steps from the mist, with fluctuations from the breakdown of the Invisibility Force Field appearing across its thick armor.

Erin exclaimed, "It's definitely those things!"

Without another word, Yu Sheng flipped the safety on the blood grenade, pressed the detonation button, and tossed it forward—a dull cracking sound echoed as the specially crafted "grenade" did not produce shrapnel or explosive damage, instead instantaneously releasing a large area of blood mist, eerily coalescing in mid-air.

Yu Sheng immediately established a connection with the blood mist, controlling them to continue rapidly spreading in all directions.

The mist became thin, yet it didn't affect its function. One after another, hazy silhouettes lost their cover in the blood mist. The stealth force field was eroded and disrupted, and chaotic, broken streams of light were everywhere.

Several Brass Knights appeared in the alley, raised their heavy swords, and charged at Yu Sheng and his group without hesitation.

The space in the dark alley continued to expand, the mist seemingly blurring the "boundary" of this Exotic Realm. On the increasingly spacious grounds, more figures were gradually emerging.

Everything happened in an instant. Luna locked onto the nearest enemy before that empty armor could take action and charged again—the Force Field Heavy Sword in the knight's hand swung like the wind, and the charged coating on the surface of the brass armor shimmered brightly. However, in the face of the Artificial Saintess' accelerated assault and her indomitable blade, these flashy things didn't even last two seconds.

The sharp "nails" shattered the force field on the heavy sword, tore through the charged coating, and left several fatal holes on the Brass Knight.

The knight fell, drowned in the illusion of a Holy Battle for the nation. Even in his last moment, he held his head high proudly, as if still savoring the fervent cheers born from faith and illusion.

Luna landed on the ground, slightly dazed, looking at the fallen knight. But when new enemies appeared in the air, she turned to face them without a millisecond of hesitation.

The little puppet on Yu Sheng's shoulder yelled anxiously, "Hey! Model C clasp! They're all your countrymen!"

Luna swept across the battlefield like a gust of wind, and as she passed Yu Sheng's side, she briefly uttered two words, "Enemies."

A gust of Astral Wind came rushing forward, and another towering figure appeared at the edge of the blood mist, attacking with trailing shadows. Seeing this, Yu Sheng could only lift his blood needle launcher and fire a burst. The tiny, sharp blood needles drilled into the gaps of the enemy's armor as if with Spiritual Wisdom, growing wildly within the hollow shell—the Brass Knight immediately stiffened, slowed down, and staggered forward like fighting for control over his body, then countless blood-colored "thorns" grew from the gaps of his armor, and the whole armor promptly disintegrated.

After disintegration, the inside of the armor was hollow, with only a dark, eerie substance slowly flowing out from the cracks, like blood and flesh rotted into sludge.

"Da da da..."

A series of sharp whistling sounds tore through the air, and dense Fox Fire spread towards the other end of the alley, weaving a scorching and explosive net of fire in the gradually widening alley. Two Brass Knights were hit directly by Fox Fire, causing their Protective Force Fields to flicker violently. One suit of armor desperately threw its heavy sword before being burned through and then fell straight into the sea of fire.

The heavy sword covered with the Decomposition Force Field grazed Little Red Riding Hood's hair. The latter just tilted her head slightly and continued directing the Wolf Pack to tear apart those figures that had just emerged from the edge of the blood mist.

Dim corners were everywhere in the dark alley, and each shadow could be a "reflection" of the Black Forest. The wolves emerging from the dark corners grew in number until they began to overwhelm the new enemies with sheer quantity.

"Oh well, never mind!" Erin shouted, deciding not to overthink, jumped from Yu Sheng's shoulder directly to the ground, and with a wave of her hand, several twisted rifts appeared behind her. Over a dozen expressionless mass-produced puppets emerged from the rifts and began pouring fire towards the other side.

The single-shot Erin's Beam couldn't puncture the armor of those Brass Knights covered with strange force fields, but when fired in concentration, the power was still considerable. The nearest Brass Knight had to slow down, this massive knight holding his sword horizontally, a swiftly solidifying Energy Shield materializing before him in an instant to block the barrage of beams and Fox Fire.

The other Brass Knights immediately used this as cover and began reorganizing their formations.

But almost simultaneously, Erin's "main body" also rushed out—the little golden-haired puppet sprinted with her short legs through the mass-produced puppets, moving surprisingly fast, and in the blink of an eye, she was in front of the heavily armored knight holding the shield. She exerted all her strength and jumped up with a "hey," slamming a pot onto the enemy's knee.

A resounding "clang" echoed in the air, rich in resonance, and the seemingly unremarkable pan inexplicably smashed through the thick shield that even the Fox Fire couldn't penetrate. The knight standing with his sword staggered suddenly, and the shield and half of his leg were shattered into pieces. The towering armor then fell, and after a brief twitch, suddenly seemed to lose its soul and remained motionless.

Little Red Riding Hood nearby was dumbfounded.

Not just Little Red Riding Hood; even Erin was a bit stunned. The little puppet stared blankly at the frying pan in her hand, muttering, "Oh my... I didn't know this thing was so effective?"

Right as she spoke, Yu Sheng, the closest to her, suddenly shouted, "Don't just stand there!"

Erin jolted and finally noticed the shadow over her head. Looking up, she saw a two-meter-tall, massively armored Brass Knight crashing down at her like a mountain collapsing!

Right after, the Brass Knight's giant sword swept across, carrying a gust of Astral Wind. The little puppet cried out in fright, lowered her head—and dodged it.

Erin was stunned for a moment, and it seemed the Brass Knight was too.

The next second, Erin put one hand on her hip and raised the pan with the other: "Haha, you idiot..."

But before she finished, the Brass Knight across from her took a rapid step forward, like whack-a-mole, and stomped her to pieces.
