Dimensional Hotel-Chapter 598: Defecting to the Light
The guards displayed immense vigilance and tension in the face of the floating droplets of blood and the eerie Blood Transferring Ceremony. After all, studying the occult and actively becoming involved in it were clearly not the same thing. However, to Yu Sheng’s surprise, although this group had their reservations, none of them actually showed signs of backing out. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
In the end, they even voluntarily participated in the "Blood Transfer."
Feeling the rapid establishment of the blood connection, Yu Sheng turned his head thoughtfully to glance at the golden-haired Elf standing next to him.
No wonder this group managed to stay clear-headed and storm out of the Rift Laboratory under those circumstances—these were all Death Warriors, the kind with nothing but loyalty on their minds.
At this moment, Yu Sheng had no doubt that even if Luo suddenly went mad and declared that she wanted to become a member of the Angel Sect, this group of guards would likely gather a bunch of candles on the spot, dancing and chanting while ceremonially stabbing themselves...
But anyway, the Blood Transferring Ceremony was successfully completed—Yu Sheng had effectively used the most stable "contract" to recruit Luo and her subordinates.
"Congratulations on regaining your freedom," Yu Sheng clapped his hands, grabbing the attention of the guards still pondering whether they had been cursed post-"Blood Transfer". "You’re now auxiliary members of the travel agency, but your tasks won’t differ much from before. Luo will brief you on the details. For now, let me take you somewhere."
As he spoke, he casually opened a large door nearby.
On the other side was the view inside the Black Stone Space Station’s Rift Laboratory.
The guards exchanged a flurry of glances, and soon, several eyes were fixed on Luo.
Luo exhaled slowly without explaining anything and stepped toward the door. "Let’s go, let’s see home."
Stepping through the illusory door and instantly reaching a distant space-time was as simple as walking from the bedroom to the living room. Luo returned from the Special Service Bureau Headquarters Building to her familiar Space Station.
The place still largely resembled her memory, except the device originally used to house the "Zolda Black Stone" was gone. Several Rift Generators directly connected to the device had also been removed. The laboratory’s ceiling, which had a large hole that allowed direct sight of the starry sky, had been hastily patched. While the suspended ceiling skin had not been restored, one could still see the slowly mending skeletal structure and the cables and pipelines not yet completely connected.
...Healing?
Luo took a breath inside the Space Station, barely having a moment to lament when she saw the metal framework above her wriggling like a living creature and the cables scuttling around searching for interfaces. She nearly choked, turning to Yu Sheng with a look as if she’d seen a ghost. "What’s with that...?"
Yu Sheng had anticipated her reaction long before she could finish, and waved it off. "Don’t be so dramatic, isn’t this Space Station supposed to amaze me? This is all perfectly normal."
Luo found herself at a loss for words but soon heard footsteps approaching from the direction of the laboratory door. Looking up at the sound, she saw figures clad in traditional Algredian scholar attire entering while discussing topics like system resets, safety lock removals, and database decryption.
The next moment, Master Alvin, along with the Star Scholars, abruptly halted.
On one side were the Star Scholars led by Master Alvin, and on the other, a contingent of private guards led by a Black Spot Warlord, two groups of Space Long Ears caught unexpectedly in the Rift Laboratory.
The star scholars didn’t recognize the group before them as members of the Black Dot Group; they simply felt that the dozens of soldiers didn’t carry the aura of assisting "scholars," but rather seemed like they had just been released from a prison. Luo, however, immediately understood the situation and shouted suddenly, "Who are you?! Why are you in my Space Station?"
The moment she shouted this, the other party also reacted, and Master Alvin’s face instantly changed, "Your Space Station... Black Dot Group members?!"
The atmosphere shifted drastically again, and Yu Sheng, on this side, reached into his pocket for some sunflower seeds...
But he had just cracked open a couple when Luo interrupted him, "Hey! Aren’t you my new boss—explain the situation!"
Only then did Yu Sheng step forward, positioning himself between the two groups of Space Long Ears.
"These are the expert scholars Mo Ran spoke to you about, drawn from Algerde," he briefly explained to Luo, then turned to the Star Scholars. "Mo Ran should have told you as well—I’d find an ’expert’ most familiar with this Space Station to take over here—the person most familiar had to be the original owner of this Space Station. Is there a problem?"
Angel Hunter...
The Elf Scholar named Alvin’s eyes changed slightly. The moment he saw Yu Sheng step forward, he actually realized what was going on. But after all, the opponent was a senior member of the Black Dot Group—a rebellious force that broke away from the mother society—which carried particularly special threats for Algredians. So his gaze reflexively fell on Luo, and his expression tensed.
Luo helplessly spread her hands, "Don’t be so uptight, ’comrade’—I’m just a scientist, and now I’ve defected from the Black Dot Group."
However, Alvin continued to stare at her intensely, though his gaze... began to adopt an odd tone.
Luo noticed the change in her compatriot’s stare and frowned, scrutinizing him a few times with some puzzlement as her expression subtly shifted.
Seeing this unfold, Yu Sheng promptly fetched more sunflower seeds from his pocket, hesitated briefly, then opened another door and pulled Luna over.
He thought the Holy Lady might like this—though he was unsure what was going to happen next, his Spiritual Intuition gave him that feeling.
Alvin and Luo both noticed Yu Sheng’s odd behavior but neither had time to pay attention to it at the moment. Just when Luna was still clueless, Alvin finally broke the silence: "...Is your name Luo?"
Luo frowned, "I also think you look familiar."
"...We studied in Terra! Over two hundred years ago, Light Wind Port University, specializing in Spiritual Energy and Mysterious Objects, and Astrology—you were a year ahead of me!" Alvin’s expression changed, his eyes filled with a complex mix of surprise and reflection on life’s unpredictability, "Our mentor was Master Ted Riel, you were my senior, you even helped review my thesis..."
Luo’s eyes slowly widened.
Some distant memories suddenly revived in her mind, the simple and happy days of her studies surfaced like glittering fragments from the deep sea, along with the scent of Spirit Mushrooms.
The last time she recalled these things, she was munching on Spirit Mushrooms, and Anka Aela’s power directly engraved the impression of that thing in her memory—this is also one aspect of Angel Power.
Luo’s lips twitched a few times, but she still couldn’t remember the name of the junior in front of her—though she did recall this face and the things he mentioned.
Alvin’s expression was complex, "Why did you..."
Luo remained silent.
Alvin suddenly sighed, "I just heard from classmates that you signed with some scam company upon graduation, got tricked into mining in the Dark Meteor Domain, and later they claimed you were coaxed into a pyramid scheme. Everyone in our dorm said it was impossible; you were the most capable in that year, not the type to fall for such scams—seeing you now, you’re clearly up to big things, but I didn’t expect you’d become a terrorist..."
Luo finally had to speak up, "Hey, can’t you say things nicely..."
Having said that, she turned to look at Yu Sheng, her expression somewhat resigned, "Could you also stop eating, boss?"
Yu Sheng clapped his hands and cheerfully looked at the two people in front of him.
"This counts as a happy ending, doesn’t it? Old classmates, years apart, both misguided and repentant—saves a lot of introductions, so you can get to work quickly. After all, my request is simple: restore this Space Station to proper functioning as fast as possible, everything else doesn’t matter."
Luo frowned, still sensing something off, but had to admit that after this little interruption, the tense situation had at least eased.
What followed was a fairly smooth handover of work, and simple introduction and acquaintance between the two teams.
Master Alvin also conveniently verified a suspicion—
The dozens of Algredians, who didn’t seem scholarly at all, were indeed just released...
Brought back by the senior, who ventured into terrorism, they’re a clone army, very hardcore.
Luo finally learned that this Space Station had briefly detached from this world and recorded a horrific scene of "Angels surrounding" beyond the world.
Her emotions were quite mixed.
Black Stone Station was disaster-prone, she was almost numb to it, even more so to the travel agency "pit"... which seemingly wasn’t much shallower than the Special Service Bureau over there.
"Let me confirm," she turned, looking at her new boss, "You mean I need to understand the process of this Space Station shuttling between worlds, find any remaining traces of Angel aberrations or information pollution from beyond, and if found, research them...that’s correct?"
Yu Sheng nodded, "Yes. There might also be other projects, World Bridge, omen, or other Dark Angels, invading Alien Gods—specific content depends on my ’hunting’ results."
Luo gulped.
"Before, I’d occasionally smuggle some antique Mysterious Objects from the Lawless Star Region, even researching a bit of Black Spirit Ability would get me hunted to the ends of the earth by all major Civilization Circles—they all said I was a technological terrorist..." She struggled to maintain composure, looking into Yu Sheng’s eyes, "Now you’re saying my main task is to study Dark Angels and world pollution, potentially dealing with Evil Gods?"
Yu Sheng thought for a moment, "You could understand it that way."
"...Can I go back to prison?"
"No, you’ve abandoned the dark for the light."
Luo: "..."
