Dimensional Hotel-Chapter 660 - 659: The New Cat
Her new boss—a former Black Spot Warlord, owner of the Black Stone Space Station, and a big shot with an elite guard—seems to be at the bottom of the food chain in this mysterious organization called the "travel agency."
The cat was very shocked by her discovery.
However, the new boss himself didn't seem to be aware of this, and Momo soon discovered that the "dangerous people" the boss mentioned were actually quite friendly. At least those black-clad puppets running around were very friendly.
They even looked quite cute—although their eyes seemed somewhat dim.
"Are they all replicas of that 'Erin' lady?" Watching another squad of mass-produced puppets push mops as they scurried across the hall, Momo couldn't resist asking out of curiosity.
"Replicas of 'people'?" Luo thought for a moment, hugging her arms and slowly said, "In essence, they're about the same... but if you have to say it, they more closely resemble mass-produced 'shells' coming off the production line—Erin is an Alice Puppet, and these are spare bodies that my boss created for her using some strange methods. The controllers behind them are all Erin."
"Alice Puppet?" Momo was greatly surprised, waving her hand above her head, "But the Alice Puppets I've seen weren't this short..."
Before the cat could finish, Luo covered her mouth: "Hey, don't say that in front of her! She'll fly up and bite!"
Momo's eyes widened as she forcefully nodded while being muffled.
Luo finally let go, glanced around warily to ensure that the nearby mass-produced puppets hadn't noticed their situation, and then breathed a sigh of relief. She nudged Momo's back: "Stop standing idly, follow me, I'll show you around this place."
Momo obediently followed behind the new boss, passing through the gigantic hub hall, along a short corridor, and through an ancient, solemn-looking door that resembled some kind of relic from an old civilization, finally reaching the exterior of this enormous pyramid.
The view before her opened up dramatically—a massive valley, a river running through its bottom, farmlands next to the hub, and an oddly picturesque town, along with distant towers, forests, a star port, and the floating entrance to an Alternate Dimension.
All these things surpassed Momo's imagination before arriving.
Initially, upon hearing the words "travel agency headquarters," the upper limit of what she could imagine was a grand building or something like the "big guy" of the Black Stone Station. She thought these were already extravagant, yet all her imaginations evidently couldn't compare to a truly... independent space.
Just then, another buzzing sound passed overhead. Momo, surprised, looked up, only to see a mass-produced puppet flying across the sky—clinging to a "little sword" about the size of a dagger with both hands and feet, body hanging beneath it, technically flying by being carried by the sword.
"Puppet flying in the sky, boss!" exclaimed the out-of-town cat.
Luo glanced up and nonchalantly said, "Oh, that's Sword Flight. You might occasionally see that scene."
Momo's eyes widened: "Sword Flight? But that's not how it looked when I saw Miss Mo Ran do it in Shuji, she was standing on the sword—"
Luo: "That's what it looks like after falling down."
Momo blinked, not having a chance to process what this meant when she heard a commotion not far off. She turned and jumped up: "The puppet got stuck in a tree!"
Unfazed, Luo led the out-of-town cat towards the Fairy Tale Town: "Don't worry, puppets often get caught in trees—or fall into pits. Someone will come along later with a stick to poke her down."
"...J-giant! A giant walking by the riverbank!"
"That's Snow White's Thunderbolt Titan."
"...Why are there armored vehicles in the town!?"
"That's Dorothy's command vehicle. She should be just returning from joyriding now."
"...And there's a dragon, a dragon falling from the sky!!"
"The Dragon Slayer is practicing gliding—no worries, Jack's beanpole will catch him. Hey, stop staring at the sky, watch your step, a puppet just passed by."
"Oh, sorry, sorry, sorry..."
Momo was constantly surprised as she hopped up countless times from the Hub Pyramid to the Fairy Tale Town on that short route—her tail fluffed up and never settled down. Frankly speaking, she's not of the overly panicky type. At least among the Gyprolians, she was known for being quite calm and collected. However, she couldn't help but feel disoriented by this place's topsy-turvy nature. As a professionally trained Deep Space Technician, she had never seen anything like it.
Upon entering the town and seeing a human child no older than six or seven riding a two-meter-tall Shadow Giant Wolf rampaging down the street, she was utterly stunned...
Then this imaginative Gyprolian girl quickly realized one thing: There might be a reason her new boss is at the bottom of the food chain here.
"Next time, you lead others to this place," Luo was unsurprised by Momo's reaction, knowing this was a process every "newbie" had to go through after entering this valley. So, after giving a rough introduction to the town's situation, she continued speaking matter-of-factly, "The fresh air here is good for the body. Once your friends recover enough to leave the hospital, they can move here to continue recuperation.
"Of course, my boss knows you'd like to visit home—it's definitely possible, but there will always be a place for you to stay here. Don't worry, this town never lacks vacant houses. The kids from Fairy Tales build them when they have free time, treating it like playing with blocks...
"Aside from this town, there's also a Star Port near the Black Forest. Although the ships docked there look a bit like stuff from the Hidden Monastery, they actually belong to the travel agency... Where did they come from? My boss bought them, of course.
"Also, don't go near the tower to the north with the black space rift floating above it... Huh? No, no, it's got nothing to do with the Forbidden Zone or any Cursed Tower. That place is under construction. Snow White and the long-haired princess are planning to turn it and the Alternate Dimension above it into a play area for kids. Of course, they told my boss it's a 'training ground' where kids can strengthen their bodies...
"You want to know what's dangerous about the play area and why you can't go near it? The demons inside the play area are real! Why there are demons in the play area, don't ask me. It's the long-haired princess's idea—she can summon the demons she's slain in that tower. She usually uses them to work out, half-kills them, and then lets the kids exercise..."
Momo: "...?!"
Just then, she noticed Luo suddenly stopped walking.
A chubby-looking tabby cat had appeared out of nowhere and was leisurely strolling towards them.
Behind it followed two old men with ingratiating smiles, carrying cans of cat food and dried fish.
An inexplicable sense of tension suddenly welled up in Momo's heart. For some reason, she tensed up as soon as she saw this tabby cat—then she watched as it came up to her, sniffed around, circled her twice, and then looked up to stare at her.
Its vertical pupils held a scrutinizing gaze.
Then it nodded and said in a deep male voice, "New here?"
Momo nearly jumped onto Luo at that moment—the shock she received even surpassed seeing a giant dragon fall from the sky: "The cat can talk, aaaah!"
Luo hurriedly held the startled Jipulo girl, "Calm down! Calm down! It's just a talking cat, haven't you gotten used to it by now on this trip?!"
The King looked up at the still-frightened Momo with a face full of exasperation, "Such a fuss from the Gyprolians."
With a flick of its paw, the two "flatterers" holding treats vanished into thin air, only to be replaced by the figure of a woman in a white robe—a summoned "Holy Daughter of the Kingdom," who raised her staff and pointed at Momo, hitting her with several powerful calming techniques.
Then the "Holy Daughter" gracefully bowed to the King, and her image slowly faded away, bringing back the two flatterers.
Momo calmed down, though the calming techniques had quite an effect, leaving her gazing blankly for about five or six seconds before she finally snapped back to reality, looking at the King with a peculiar expression.
"I forgot to remind you," Luo's voice came from beside her, "Don't mess with any cats around here; you can't beat them."
Momo: "..."
"I'm the 'King,' one of the animals raised by the orphanage," the King lazily stretched, "We currently have two animals here, besides me there's a snake who's acting as a slide for the kids in the square right now. Now it's your turn, where are you from?"
Luo quickly introduced, "The boss entrusted me to take care of her; her name is Momo. We brought a group from the Dark Meteor Domain this time..."
After giving a brief overview of Momo's situation, the King nodded solemnly and his expression seemed to soften: "Hmm, then you're one of us—no need to be formal, make yourself at home. Actually, there's another of your kin here; you two should meet."
Momo blinked curiously, "My kin?"
"Over there," the King gestured with his paw to the other side of the street, "that's the one doing rehabilitation training with the big guy."
Momo looked up and immediately saw Lingdang, who was accompanying the recovering Xu Jiali on a walk in the town.
Lingdang, sensing a presence, turned her head and saw Momo standing across the road.
The two cat heads immediately headed towards each other without hesitation, completely forgetting their respective bosses and the injured leader. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
"Alright, no need for you to guide them anymore," the King lazily raised an eyelid at Luo, "cats will handle their own socializing."
Luo had a feeling there was something off about what the King said...
Meanwhile, Momo and Lingdang, having quickly confirmed each other's friendly intentions, had already pulled out a small box from their pockets.
"Here, comrade, try this; it's really intense meow~"
"What is it?"
"Catnip! It's the best from the Boundary Land meow~"
"Wow——"
