Dimensional Store System In Apocalypse-Chapter 347: (EDT) Second Part - Barricade
Chapter 347: (EDT) Second Part - Barricade
The fifteen soldiers on board the Assailant-Class Patrol Ship started firing and taking out multiple hostiles gathered on the port side. As for the few other ship crews, they steadily steer the vessel closer to foot's reach.
Once the ship finally latched on the port, two of Zhang Qin Feng's soldiers changed their now emptied Thunderbolt Mk-II rifle with a bigger gun in their hand. The two guns in their hand were considered a prototype designed to handle crowds.
Cell-Powered Gatling Prototype "Chain-Lightning" Minigun.
Comes in a traditional appearance of six barrels, an electrical-powered engine, about 23" in length, and close to thirty kilograms. This weapon is literally the Thunderbolt Turret made into a handheld.
And in the group of fifteen soldiers accompanying Zhang Qin Feng, only these two can handle the stress of getting thrown off from operating few jackhammers at once.
"Ready!" both of them shouted. The thirteen other soldiers ducked as soon as they emptied all the bullets in their mag. 𝙛𝙧𝙚𝒆𝘸𝚎𝙗𝒏oν𝙚𝘭.𝐜𝒐m
With no friendlies in sight, the two pulled the trigger and fired indiscriminately. If there's any survivor caught in between this wave, they could only blame their luck for this.
*Purrrr!!!*
The bullets were pouring out as fast as the ammunition factory could produce them. With a capacity of firing over 4,000 rounds per minute, the rain of bullets was done in less than a minute from the moment they opened fire.
And in exchange for the fierce firepower, their short-lived service was the only problem for this prototype. But the results were still remarkable than they expected because over a thousand zombies swarming around the port were cleared.
With hardly a hundred zombies left around them, Zhang Qin Feng ordered the two to rest a while before catching up with the leading team. In the meanwhile, he will lead the team forward to start clearing the port for themselves.
And with the assistance from Stein, all they needed to do was clearing the zombies and leave everything else to Zhang Qin Feng to handle. This allowed them to have a space to take a breather in between without putting more effort into searching the corpses one after another.
Of course, Zhang Qin Feng didn't tell them what he did while fighting against the zombies.
They gradually took turns to fight and defend this port from the zombies. Even with so many firearms on them, it still took them close to five days to make this port a safe zone. And by the time they're done, one month exactly had passed from the day he came to the apocalypse.
"Boss. We've searched all around the port, but there's nothing useful here except some firearms and leftover rations. From the look of it, this place has been abandoned for over a year." one of the soldiers said.
"The barricade to block the zombies from swarming into this area is about to complete. But we'll need some help in getting rid of the zombies while putting on the partition." another soldier added.
"Also, boss… I have a piece of bad news." a crew from the logistic side came and whispered by Zhang Qin Feng's ear.
"Huh? What is it?" Zhang Qin Feng had a puzzled expression. From what he could see, this place had no other problem except it was swarming with so many zombies, to the point there's almost no place to rest.
"We've checked the zombie corpses before incinerating them… All of these zombies had no Duranium Shard at all… I'm afraid that…" the crew continued.
Zhang Qin Feng chuckled instantly after hearing the crew's dilemma. It seems that Zhang Qin Feng had to give them some clues before everyone worked pointlessly.
You don't need to search the corpse that is starting to rot or losing the firmness on their flesh and muscles. If the body had no DUranium Shard in them, the body wouldn't have the ability to preserve itself from rotting."
"Also, is there a need for Duranium Shards now?" Zhang Qin Feng asked.
"Yes, boss. The power of our vessel's Battery-Cell is running low. We need some shards to recharge it back to the optimal condition." the crew immediately answered.
"Then… How many Duranium Shard is required?" Zhang Qin Feng continued.
"Around a thousand would do." the crew said.
"Alright. Take this." Zhang Qin Feng gave that crew one of the Dimensional-Charge Storage Unit to use. After multiple upgrades on this device, it could now store the power of a thousand Duranium Shards securely.
Zhang Qin Feng led half of the soldiers and some crews to complete the barricade on the following day. As soon as the last partition piece was secured in its place, a surge of electricity coursed around it.
This helps to strengthen the barricade defense further.
And with the safe zone is now established, all Zhang Qin Feng needs is to let his people start clearing the zombies here and collect as many Duranium Shards as they can. Based on the number of zombies swarming all around this place, he could estimate at least ten to fifteen million shards from this area alone. 𝙛𝚛𝙚ewe𝗯𝓃𝗼ѵ𝚎Ɩ.𝒄o𝐦
But the prerequisite to obtain all these resources is to stay alive. The moment Zhang Qin Feng left this safe zone with the remaining crews, the ten or so people over here would be on their own until the next batch of people came to support them.
Zhang Qin Feng ordered them to erect another barricade within the port to ensure everyone here had a chance of survival. A building that seems relatively sturdy, with only one access towards an underground storage area, was chosen as the fortress in this safe zone.
In case of emergency, all their survival supplies would be here. As long they defended themselves well, if the zombie overrun the base, this place would be their last key to survival.
Two days later, Zhang Qin Feng left half of the people here with supplies and ammunition more than they could use. Promising them that they'll return in the span of a week to ten days, the ship sailed off.
Unfortunately, the real threat came slightly later. This base was demolished by the real zombie army that arrived on the fourth day after Zhang Qin Feng sailed.
