Left alone with the little mushroom girl, Lin Mo turned to the girl, "Xiao Ya. You're still at the Spirit Gathering Stage. Don't try to bite off more than you can chew, alright? Activate the talisman the moment you sense any danger."

The girl nodded a few times, her eyes sparkling with resolve. "It's for the experience, Boss. Don't worry. I also don't want to worry my parents. Hehe. Let's go in?"

Lin Mo heaved a sigh of relief and nodded, pulling her close and bringing her hand to the door.

Lin Mo watched her disappear as she accepted the challenge. With that, he took a deep breath, checked his inventory, which was filled with a variety of items he picked from the store shelves. With a final nod, he acknowledged the tower's panel, asking him whether to enter or not.

"Here goes nothing." He murmured to himself as he recalled his experiences for the past two weeks in the realm. Dealing with extraordinary customers had already become part of his daily life. He faced his first challenge yesterday but even then, he wasn't alone. But this time, inside the tower, he had no one to turn to. Only the prototype artifact and the skills he trained for the past few days.

The world shifted and Lin Mo found himself in the otherworldly chamber that reminded him of a crystal cave with walls pulsing with foreign energy.

He waited for a moment to see if his Celestial Providence would be triggered like what happened at the Anchor. Unfortunately, it didn't happen. The foreign energy that was pressing against his spiritual senses was circulated smoothly by his core cultivation technique and the [Everflowing Serenity Sutra] kept his mind clear.

The [Starshot Revolver] resting at his hip had its jade crystal resonate with the Tower's energy, drawing it in to gradually produce the bullets within the six chambers. He could speed it up with his spiritual energy but considering the foreign was more potent, he decided to save his spiritual energy.

He pulled the gun out of its holster and inspected it. "That's quite handy."

Meanwhile, the [Celestial Duel Gear] on his wrist also began absorbing the foreign energy, gathering it to become a substitute for when he would activate his Celestial Field and summon a unit.

After inspecting himself and ensuring that he didn't miss anything, he checked on the Tower's panel.

Just like what he'd read from the users of the Bulletin Board, it accurately displayed his profile as well as his objective.

[Challenger: Lin Mo - 7th Level Spirit Condensation Stage]

[Current Floor: 1]

[Objective: Defeat the Floor Guardian or survive for 30 minutes]

[Rewards: 1 Green Chest, Access to Floor 2]

[Store Beacon Access: Active]

[Dimension Essence: 0]

He studied it before concluding that the store's collected Dimension Essence from the purchases every challenger made at the Store Beacon wasn't counted as his. Hence, he's also starting with a zero balance. Furthermore, like his customers, he could access it and purchase anything he might need. Not that he's lacking in supplies, but it's great for him to test it himself.

He may be able to adjust the items being sold by it depending on his experience.

Once the revolver finished producing all six bullets, he walked further into the chamber to start the Floor 1 challenge. fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com

[Objective Initiated: Defeat the Floor Guardian or Survive for 30 minutes]

[Current Wave: 5 Dark Sentinels]

[Timer: 29:59]

At the same time as the 30-minute countdown timer appeared below the Tower panel, the walls shifted and out came five shadowy figures of the Dark Sentinels.

They're as mindless as he read from the narration of the other challengers, and they truly looked otherworldly.

If he could describe them, they look like those depictions of shadow monsters in anime or movies, except their forms solidified as soon as they emerged from the walls.

Their hollow eyes glowing in sinister light immediately locked onto Lin Mo without even curbing their killing intent.

For inexperienced cultivators, they might be stumped at this stage but thankfully, the Heavenly Mirage Illusion Orb successfully simulated even the horrors of facing his death against stronger opponents. While it didn't fully temper his mind, it's enough to endure the killing intent coming from these foreign creatures.

"Should I take it easy or…?" As his voice trailed there, he eventually shook his head, dropping any notion of holding back.

He was inside the tower, not as a tourist but to complete his objective.

His grin didn't waver as he lifted his arm, his fingers gripping the [Starshot Revolver] tightly.

"Alright, let's see what you can do," He murmured to himself as his spiritual energy flowed into the weapon. With all six bullets already formed within the cylinder, his spiritual energy wrapped around it like a defensive coating, ensuring that it wouldn't explode after shooting once.

Then, the jade crystal flared as the inscriptions along the wider-than-normal barrel ignited with the starlight essence.

He aimed at the nearest sentinel, his core and mental techniques allowing him to maintain his focus.

BANG!

With a gentle squeeze of the trigger, the hammer hit the loaded bullet and a condensed burst of starlight essence shot forth, streaking through the air like a comet.

The sentinel barely had time to react before the starlight erased half of its body. Its lower part tumbled noiselessly before it broke into motes of light.

A chime rang instantly, waking Lin Mo up from his stupefied state.

[Dimension Essence Earned: 50]

[Remaining Sentinels: 4]

"What the hell is that? It should be a bullet shot. How did it engulf that creature's body?"

Lin Mo lowered his eyes to the gun that was still releasing smoke at its muzzle. The cylinder clicked as though signaling him that it's ready for its next shot.

He could feel his hands tremble slightly but he managed to gather himself.

Because despite the unexpected power of starlight essence, the Dark Sentinels had no plans of stopping their charge.

Using his [Crimson Flow Phantom Steps], retreated to the area where the first sentinel was shot.

After processing all the information from that first shot, his body had already started moving to utilize the powerful weapon with more efficiency.

"If it's that strong… isn't it possible to take them down all at once?"

The shot was quick and contained destructive power that could rival even a rocket launcher from Earth. The starlight essence not only cut through the sentinel's defenses like a hot knife through butter, but it also obliterated any type of resistance. Furthermore, the revolver's recoil was minimal; the only downside was the faint tug on his spiritual energy, reminding him of the strain.

That kind of strain could only be eliminated after he reached the Core Formation Stage. That's why he had to make sure all his shots were properly placed.

As he reappeared a hundred meters away from his original position, he adjusted his stance as the remaining sentinels lunged forward, their claws aiming to slash through the air.

He didn't need to dodge. He just waited for the moment when they would be all within the scope of the starlight essence.

And once they did, he fired another shot.

BANG!

The burst of starlight found its mark, repeating its earlier feat of erasing the foreign creatures' top half as they dropped in a shower of dissipating energy.

[Dimension Essence Earned: 200]

[Total Dimension Essence: 250]

[Timer: 29:35]

Twenty seconds. That's all it took for him to finish the first wave.

Still, he didn't want to be complacent. He had to continue testing it against stronger enemies. To see its limit.

With the Dark Sentinels getting decimated instantly, it's hard to accurately measure how strong each bullet was.

[Current Wave: 6 Spiked Sentinels]

The walls of the chamber shuddered instantly, spitting out the next wave.

Lin Mo grinned, twirling the revolver before he utilized his movement technique again to line them up.

Even though the pressure they were radiating was stronger than the Dark Sentinels, Lin Mo simply took it as a challenge. It's not news to him, after all. Everyone is experiencing the same challenge of increasing difficulty.

After gaining considerable distance from them, he went into a shooting stance, aiming at the middle of the six Spiked Sentinels as they charged towards him.

BANG!

The starlight essence erupted from the [Starshot Revolver], a radiant lance of destruction that tore through space.

The Spiked Sentinels, with their jagged forms that glinted with an otherworldly menace, barely had time to register the attack. The beam of starlight punched through the center of their formation, obliterating all six in a single, cataclysmic burst.

Suffering the same fate as the Dark Sentinels, their spiked bodies got erased, and the remaining parts shattered into motes of fading energy, scattering like dust in a storm.

[Dimension Essence Earned: 360]

[Total Dimension Essence: 610]

[Timer: 29:10]

Lin Mo's lips curled into a satisfied smirk as he watched the lingering smoke filtering out of the muzzle.

That's his 3rd shot in this tower. But in the span of close to a minute, another bullet already materialized. How overpowered. Somehow, it's making him apprehensive to release the same product to the general masses. What if they obliterate each other instead? That will be catastrophic.

He made a mental note to write that in his report. For now, the real challenge begins.

[Floor Guardian: Tendril Warden]
