Chapter 2715 Humbling Oneself

Cyclonis Blizzara was confused beyond compare but shaking her head, she went on to continue healing Yeyin, accelerating her recovery by many times.

Yeyin healed faster than Davis did, as the latter didn't use life energy to heal himself at this moment.

By the time Mistress Yeyin healed, they were already at the outskirts of the Aurora Cloud Gate's main branch.

"Remember, you're not to summon constructs of this size in the sect unless it is on your island or an emergency to protect yourself. This rule applies to all, even if you're the personal disciple of the Frostcloud Sword Empress."

Elder Aradiel Furiose warned Tanya before he exited, leaving behind Cyclonis Blizzara and Mistress Yeyin in the palace. However, Cyclonis Blizzara didn't seem to be afraid. She checked that everything was alright with Yeyin before looking at her with a complicated gaze.

"What? Are you going to kidnap Yeyin this time like the Fire Phoenix Clan tried kidnapping Zahara?"

Davis asked as he stood up. He was still draped in a bloodied purple robe, but his external injuries were already healed, making him look like a bloody rogue cultivator who had stood on top of multiple corpses upon a war-torn battlefield.

"Kidnapping? How rude." However, Cyclonis Blizzara still replied with an amused voice as she still had her gaze on Yeyin.

"Little Yeyin, are you willing to come back to the Ice Phoenix Clan?"

"I... I don't know."

Mistress Yeyin seemed hesitant, causing Cyclonis Blizzara to still keep a gentle smile, her voice calm.

"Why do you say that?"

"I'm not sure of my origin, nor do I think I'd be safe anywhere other than the Aurora Cloud Gate."

"Not sure of your origin..." Cyclonis Blizzara nodded at Yeyin's words.

"Before coming here, I investigated you a bit and had the elders investigate more, causing me to learn that there is a record of exiling your mother from our clan but other than that, there's not even a single record of her familial line and how she lived her life, making your origin even more confusing. My guess is someone tampered with the familial records kept tightly secured within the clan, only accessed by the head, Grand Elder, and Ancestor-level existences, so for forgery to happen, one of us must have done this."

Mistress Yeyin became saddened, but she wryly smiled, knowing this was the case. Perhaps. Almost all relationships she had in her memories were fabricated, causing her to not know from left and right.

"If my hypothesis is correct... you're not someone who belongs in the First Haven World."

But suddenly, Cyclonis Blizzara's voice became solemn, causing Mistress Yeyin to shudder, but the latter's eyes also went wide as she saw the former kneel before her.

"Inheritance master, please return to the Ice Phoenix Clan and lead our clan to glory."

Cyclonis Blizzara knelt towards Mistress Yeyin as she pleaded in an earnest voice, giving the latter the highest honor she could possibly deserve. Davis and Tanya were also astonished by the Ice Phoenix Clan Matriarch's humility or, rather, adaptability if they were being pessimistic, not certainly expecting this kind of move from her.

Still, Davis saw that Cyclonis Blizzara saying that Yeyin was an inheritance master didn't invoke those dangerous maws emerging from the void. Was it because it was still an assumption and not known like a fact as he and his people do?

However, Mistress Yeyin panicked.

"Matriarch... please... don't..."

"I'm no longer the Matriarch, just a sinner who chose to join another power and swear loyalty to it."

Cyclonis Blizzara replied, still having her head lowered, which made Mistress Yeyin not know what to do as she looked heavily troubled, wanting to listen yet not wanting to risk it.

Looking at Mistress Yeyin, Davis couldn't help but sigh as he interrupted them.

"You're no longer in the Ice Phoenix Clan. How can you assure Yeyin's safety?"

"That..." Cyclonis Blizzara turned to look at him, "I believe my people."

"I believe my people..." Davis scoffed as he shook his head, "... won't cut it short."

He turned to gaze at the troubled phoenix, "Mistress Yeyin, if you believe me, stay in the sect. I'll protect you to the best of my ability, and you can represent the Ice Phoenix Clan when it is time for Candidacy. I don't have any trouble with the Candidacy, as what I care about is your life."

Mistress Yeyin's quivering body came to a stop as she gazed at Davis. He betrayed her a while ago, but she knew it was just an act to stall for more time. Still, the emotions of betrayal she experienced at that time were real, causing her to want to believe him but not dare to.

She still couldn't tell what exactly he was thinking, slightly scaring her.

Cyclonis Blizzara stood up, glaring at him, "Why do you care so much about the inheritance master?"

"That's because I owe a massive debt to her."

"I don't believe you. You're a Divergent who changes the fate of everyone surrounding you, but even then, you shouldn't be responsible for this weird... situation I'm seeing right now. I refuse to believe that you owe a massive debt to her."

She couldn't help but feel that there was a deeper connotation to what he said and also what he portrayed himself to be. But suddenly, she couldn't help but think about the rumor that there were two divine phoenixes that tackled the Immortal King Vacuous Beast that was almost about to destroy the Grand Beginnings Continent.

Did that have something to do with the current situation? She couldn't tell, but she knew that there was no way a mortal would be involved in the rebirth of the inheritance masters. She felt that it had something to do with their innate nirvanic powers instead.

"Then why don't you keep an eye on me and protect Yeyin within the sect? You're loyal to this sect, aren't you?"

Davis chuckled, issuing a direct challenge to Cyclonis Blizzara, causing her to narrow her eyes.

What she wanted to do was return the inheritors back to the clan so that they could be properly nurtured, but if her hypothesis was correct, then Shirley, who was already known as the Fire Phoenix Inheritor, would be viewed with suspicion and even animosity within the Ice Phoenix Clan if it is ever revealed that she is the fourth inheritor.

Her expression churned, feelings things got really messy that she didn't know which was the right decision to make but knew that at least Yeyin would be taken care of if she were to be brought back to the clan.

However, hearing Davis's words, she couldn't help but blink.

Just a while ago, she had seen the catalog of Aurora Cloud Gate's Treasury. There was a massive amount of treasures that she couldn't hope to obtain in the Ice Phoenix Clan.

She felt that if she could utilize them perfectly, then she knew that she could nurture Yeyin more than the Ice Phoenix Clan could do, but the requirement was that she should work extremely hard to obtain those resources while, on the other hand, just by existing in the Ice Phoenix Clan, Yeyin would be given those kinds of resources for free.

This made both options appear at a comparable level to her, causing her to frown as she turned to look at Mistress Yeyin.

"The Ice Phoenix Inheritance... who has it?"

"..."

Yeyin could only blink, which instantly told Cyclonis Blizzara that she didn't have it and further cemented the idea that Yeyin was an inheritance master. Otherwise, she would be in possession of an inheritance palace that would've blocked the Fire Phoenix Clan from harming them.

With that out of the way, she turned to look at Davis.

"Are you willing to share the Ice Phoenix Inheritance with Mistress Yeyin?"
