Divorce, Please: The Young Master Does Not Love Me-Chapter 111: Quite Capable
"I know..." Aiden Avery’s eyes never left her face. Seeing her spirits fall, he couldn’t help but furrow his brow.
She felt like her heart was about to leap out of her chest. "So, what did he say?"
"He didn’t say much. Just that you should focus on getting better. Now, don’t overthink it. Have some congee. I brought it from home for you." Aiden Avery didn’t want to continue the topic of Tristan Grayson.
When she heard that Tristan wanted her to focus on getting better, a strange warmth spread through her heart. "Mm."
’When he finds out I’m pregnant, will he be as happy and excited for the baby’s birth as I am...?’
After Mika Summers finished eating, she started chatting with Avery.
Avery had been a teaching assistant at her university for a few months. Back then, Mika’s grades had plummeted because she was obsessed with a celebrity, so Avery had tutored her for free for two weeks. As a result, they were fairly familiar with each other.
What she hadn’t expected, however, was that Avery actually knew Tristan Grayson.
By the time Tristan Grayson finished with all his work, it was already past eight in the evening.
When he returned to the hospital and saw that woman and Aiden Avery sitting together, laughing and talking as they ate, he almost fainted from rage.
’This woman really has some nerve! I was only gone for a day, and she’s already gotten this close with Aiden Avery?’
’When has she ever acted like that toward me when we were eating together?’
’I should have known she wasn’t the type to behave herself. I must have been an idiot to ask Aiden Avery to take care of her.’ 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
"Avery, you have this." Mika Summers picked up a piece of chicken and placed it in Aiden Avery’s bowl.
Aiden Avery smiled helplessly. "You’re the one who needs to be building up your strength. It almost looks like I’m the one who’s recovering here."
Mika Summers playfully stuck her tongue out at Aiden Avery. ’Well, what can I do? I’ve never liked eating chicken, so to avoid wasting it, I had to give it to Avery. I’m fine with just having the soup.’
But she was too embarrassed to tell Avery what she was thinking.
Tristan Grayson’s fists were clenched, his face dark as he strode into the hospital room.
Aiden Avery glanced up at Tristan Grayson, then, as if he hadn’t seen him at all, lowered his head and continued eating with Mika Summers.
Mika Summers saw Tristan Grayson then, too, but she was nowhere near as composed as Aiden Avery. She stared at Tristan Grayson, nervous and uneasy, as if she had genuinely done something to wrong him.
After Tristan Grayson came in, he didn’t even spare her a glance, speaking directly to Aiden Avery. "Aiden Avery, didn’t you say you had something else to deal with?"
"When did I say I had things to take care of? Tristan, if you’re busy with work, just go. You can leave Mika in my care." Aiden Avery knew full well Tristan Grayson was trying to kick him out, but he still replied with fearless loyalty.
Tristan Grayson was so furious with Aiden Avery he wanted to walk over and punch him. "She’s my wife. Why would she need you to take care of her?" ’Mika? They’ve known each other for less than a day and he’s already calling her by such an intimate name? That Aiden Avery is really asking for a beating. Mika Summers is *his* wife, Tristan Grayson’s wife, and even he has never called her that. How dare he?’
Seeing that Tristan Grayson was angry, Mika Summers got scared and quickly spoke up, "Avery, if you have things to do, you should go. We can catch up some other time."
