Divorce, Please: The Young Master Does Not Love Me-Chapter 151: Complete
The sudden sound of a woman’s voice on the other end of the line made Mika Summers freeze.
The emotions churning inside her were so overwhelming that she couldn’t support her own weight. If she hadn’t been sitting on the bed, she was sure she would have collapsed onto the floor.
’So this was his so-called "business trip"?’
’So all this time, he’s been with that woman.’
Even though she had never met the woman, her voice was one she knew all too well—a voice she was particularly sensitive to.
For three years, that woman had been her living nightmare. She had thought the nightmare was over, but it seemed that wasn’t the case...
"Don’t be scared. I won’t leave you..." Tristan rushed into the hospital room, phone still in hand, and pulled Maggie Monroe into his arms, comforting her in a soft voice.
Hearing that gentle voice over the phone drove her mad with jealousy. When had Tristan Grayson ever treated her with such tenderness?
Tristan Grayson’s tenderness was, and always had been, reserved for one woman and one woman only: Maggie Monroe.
And what about her? She was nothing. Before, she had at least been Mrs. Grayson in name. Now, she wasn’t even that...
She didn’t want to listen to any more of their loving conversation. With a mocking laugh, she hung up the phone.
She burrowed under the covers and hugged herself tightly, trying not to feel so lonely, so pathetic...
She had lived without Tristan Grayson before, and she had been perfectly fine. It would be the same now. He wasn’t that important to her. He really wasn’t...
But her tears betrayed her, streaming uncontrollably down her face...
The happy family of three she had once fantasized about was now completely shattered... She couldn’t give her child a complete and happy home...
She caressed her stomach, her body wracked with quiet sobs. For her child, for a whole family, her only choice was to pretend she knew nothing. Besides that, what else could she possibly do?
—
Tristan Grayson held Maggie Monroe and comforted her for a long, long time before she finally stopped crying and drifted off to a peaceful sleep.
He sighed and sat down on a nearby stool.
Suddenly remembering something, he checked his phone, only to find that the call had ended long ago.
’That woman... she must have heard, right?’
’Well, so what if she heard? I wasn’t planning on hiding it from her anyway. The sooner she knows, the sooner she can get rid of any inappropriate ideas she might have.’
With that, he called Henry Archer and instructed him to handle the paperwork as soon as possible. He wanted to transfer a portion of his assets to Mika Summers’s name ahead of schedule.
’After all, he was the one who had wronged her. He wouldn’t short-change her, at least.’
Maggie Monroe, her back to Tristan Grayson, was pretending to be asleep with her eyes closed, but a tear escaped from the corner of her eye. Her mind was replaying his words: "I’m not worried about you, I’m worried about our child."
’So, that woman is already pregnant?’
’She and Tristan had been together for so many years, yet he had never once touched her. To think he’d already slept with that woman...’
’Tristan had clearly told her he didn’t like that woman—that he even hated her, truly hated her—and that there was no way anything could ever happen between them. So why had it? Could it be that woman set Tristan up?’
’That must be it. It has to be. Tristan despises her, so how could he ever be willing to touch her? That woman must have set him up, seduced him... I have to get better quickly. I can’t let another woman steal Tristan away. If I lose him, what’s the point of living?’
