Divorce, Please: The Young Master Does Not Love Me-Chapter 93: The Lesson
Tristan Grayson’s gesture made Mika Summers’s heart, which she thought was dead, suddenly begin to pound wildly.
With her cheeks flushed, she lowered her head and let him lead her toward the second floor. But when she got there and saw the two people standing at the top of the stairs, her expression instantly soured.
They were Caleb Grayson and Mae Lynch.
’So, was Tristan Grayson’s gesture just an act for his parents?’
In less than a minute, the heart that had just been revived was instantly plunged back into the abyss.
’She should have known. Tristan Grayson had always been a master of deception, and this time was no different. Oh, Mika, Mika, how can you be so foolish? How many times has this happened? How can you still let him trick you so easily?’
While she was still in a daze, Tiana suddenly ran out of a room and pulled her inside.
Tiana Grayson shut the door and quickly pointed to a black suit on the bed. "Mika, hurry and put this on. And later, no matter how noisy it gets outside, don’t leave. Just stay in here with me."
"Mm." She didn’t ask any questions. She did as Tiana said, changed into the clothes, and then sat with her on the bed.
Tiana seemed to recall something, her eyes filling with sorrow. "Mika, I heard from Amelia about what happened at the bar yesterday. Mika, thank you for helping her." 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
"Silly girl, I didn’t do anything. What’s there to thank me for?" Listening to Tiana, Mika Summers thought of the heartbroken young woman and gave a self-deprecating smile.
"Amelia said if you hadn’t been there, she wouldn’t have known how she’d get home."
Hearing this, she fell silent.
Of course, she understood how the young woman felt. She had been through the same thing herself countless times...
Only now did she truly understand the hard truth that love cannot be forced.
Oftentimes, devotion and effort don’t guarantee a perfect love in return. Her own obsession with Tristan Grayson was a prime example, an obsession that had devolved from fiery passion to utter numbness...
After three years of devotion, all that was left was a bitter ache. Every other feeling seemed to have gone numb...
Suddenly, a terrible fear gripped her—the fear that the young woman would follow in her footsteps, only to end up just as broken and scarred. She grabbed Tiana’s hand anxiously. "Tiana, are you and she very close?"
"Yes. The Grayson and Avery families have been friends for generations. Amelia and I grew up together, so we’re incredibly close—just like my brother and Aiden!"
"Tiana, you’re her best friend. If you talk to her, she’ll listen. I can tell that Young Master Jennings doesn’t like Amelia at all. She’s going to get hurt if she keeps this up."
"Mika, I can’t talk her out of it. Amelia has been in love with Cassian since they were kids. It’s not the kind of feeling you can just turn off." Tiana didn’t understand that kind of love, but her heart ached every time she saw Amelia cry so miserably. At the same time, though, she was also envious.
Hearing Tiana’s words, Mika’s eyes began to redden. She let out a self-mocking laugh. "You’re right. It’s not the kind of feeling you can just turn off..." ’Amelia is like that, but aren’t I the exact same?’
’She couldn’t even talk sense into herself, yet she’d hoped Tiana could talk sense into Amelia. But in the end, Tiana’s words had convinced her instead.’
’Mika, you’re so pathetic. Even now, after everything, why do you still love Tristan Grayson?’
