"Hahaha! You're hilarious, Er Gou! Hahaha!" Swallow Li said, laughing. "You even trussed someone up? This is the funniest thing I've heard all day! It's hysterical!" As he spoke, Swallow Li was laughing so hard he couldn't even lift his head.

Liu Ergou just stood there, not knowing what to say. Even though Swallow Li was laughing, Liu Ergou still managed to pick up on some important information from his stray words. For example, judging by his tone... does he know this person? Liu Ergou wasn't sure.

Liu Ergou said nothing more and hurried toward his house with Swallow Li following close behind. Since they were both moving at full speed, they reached Liu Ergou's home in just two or three minutes.

Once they arrived, Liu Ergou led Swallow Li straight to the warehouse. Standing at the entrance, Liu Ergou said nothing. He just took a deep breath, reached out, and yanked the doors open.

The scene inside was instantly revealed to Swallow Li. A person in a green ghillie suit was lying motionless on the ground. In front of them were two pools of black blood. The sight made Swallow Li's hair stand on end in terror.

He forgot everything else and rushed over to the person, gathering them into his arms. He anxiously patted their face, shouting, "Holy shit, Old Deng! Old Deng, wake up! What happened to you? How did you end up like this? Why are you coughing up blood? You've been poisoned! I thought ordinary poison couldn't affect you! Old Deng, wake up!"

As he spoke, Swallow Li slapped the man called Old Deng across the face several times. After a few slaps, Old Deng groggily stirred.

Seeing Old Deng pass out again, Swallow Li whipped his head around and roared at Liu Ergou, "Liu Ergou! Did you poison him? Confess! And why is he in this state? Did you beat him?"

Liu Ergou didn't argue. He just nodded obediently. "That's right. I poisoned him, and I beat him," he said, puffing out his chest with righteous indignation. "He was trying to ambush me. I'm already being merciful by not killing him!"

Swallow Li was left speechless. Liu Ergou is right. If someone was tailing me, I'd probably have killed them without a second thought. How could I have shown any mercy? Left with no alternative, Swallow Li heaved a long sigh.

"Ah, forget it, Er Gou," he said. "This is all my fault. First, cure his poison. Leave the rest to me. I'll give you an explanation later, alright?"

Since Swallow Li had put it that way, Liu Ergou couldn't refuse. He simply nodded and went back into the room to prepare the antidote.

A few minutes later, Liu Ergou came out holding a bowl of a murky, black liquid. Just as he was about to hand it to Swallow Li, Ning Hua ran into the courtyard, her face fraught with anxiety.

"Er Gou! Master! Something's happened!" she said. "Lang Yu is here!"

Hearing the name Lang Yu, Liu Ergou and Swallow Li both raised their eyebrows and exchanged a look. "What's he here for?" they asked in unison.

Ning Hua quickly replied, "He said he's here to see Liu Ergou, that he has something very important to discuss. He also said that only Er Gou is to go meet him, no one else. If anyone else goes, he'll harm the villagers!"

Liu Ergou became absolutely furious. This Lang Yu must have a death wish! He's actually threatening me, and he's using the entire village as leverage. But damn it, the threat is effective.
