Domineering Mr. CEO and His Impudent Love-Chapter 2318 - 24: Interview
After the group photo was taken, it was naturally time for the reporters to conduct interviews.
Given Leslie Howard’s current fame and notoriety, almost no reporters would actively interview her. Even if there were, they would deliberately ask ambiguous questions to embarrass her.
Director Henson was aware of this and felt a slight guilt towards Leslie Howard, so he let her return to the hotel where the crew was staying to rest, promising to send the script over later.
"Thank you, Director Henson." Leslie Howard politely thanked Director Henson and left the set without hesitation.
Meanwhile, David Redington, who was still stuck with the female lead Winona Wallace at the stage’s edge being interviewed by reporters, watched as that red figure disappeared far away, his deep blue eyes growing even darker.
Winona Wallace beside him was smiling purely and kindly, answering the reporters’ questions.
"Winona, we all know there’s been some discord between you and Leslie Howard. Will working together this time cause any trouble for you?"
"Of course not." Winona Wallace replied sincerely without hesitation, "Although Leslie Howard and I don’t have a blood relation, we are still family. There’s no overnight grudge between family members. Besides, Leslie Howard was like that in the past because she suddenly encountered setbacks in her career and was in a bad mood... In short, being able to work with Leslie Howard is an honor, and I’m very happy about it."
Everyone knew what Winona Wallace left unsaid.
More than four years ago, Leslie Howard’s career plummeted, and all the resources and endorsements she had were taken by the company and given to Winona Wallace.
Because of this, Leslie Howard never concealed her dislike for Winona Wallace during interviews.
Her feelings were understandable, as no one would like someone who snatches their resources and endorsements.
However, the exchange of resources and endorsements between Leslie Howard and Winona Wallace was somewhat special and couldn’t be described as ’snatching.’
Clearly, it was Leslie Howard who didn’t keep herself in check and played herself out.
If Winona Wallace hadn’t tidied up the mess for her and ’taken over,’ the penalty for all those advertising contracts alone would have bankrupted Leslie Howard.
Because of this incident, Starlight Entertainment even held a press conference to clarify the matter of Winona Wallace taking Leslie Howard’s endorsements.
Presiding over the press conference was Sheila Fletcher, the CEO of Starlight Entertainment, and Leslie Howard’s mother.
Sheila Fletcher showcased the contracts signed between the company and various advertisers and production crews during the conference, stating that if it weren’t for Winona Wallace’s rising popularity at the time, advertisers and production crews would have been willing to give Starlight Entertainment a chance.
Not only would Leslie Howard have to pay a huge penalty, but even the company would be burdened with massive debts and a negative image.
For a time, the public believed it was clearly Leslie Howard’s fault for causing trouble, while Winona Wallace kindly cleaned up her mess. Leslie Howard was not grateful and even tried to malign Winona Wallace.
Since then, Winona Wallace’s popularity reached new heights.
And Leslie Howard, who was utterly unpopular, was simply scolded as ’serves her right.’
"Winona, you’re so accommodating... We heard that the drama ’Twin Flowers’ was specifically negotiated by you with the crew to bring Leslie Howard on board. Aren’t you afraid that once Leslie Howard regains her popularity, she’ll step on you to rise to prominence?"
The entertainment reporters wanted to create a big headline; their interviews won’t have clicks without explosive content.
"It’s nothing like that. Leslie Howard is actually quite nice, just sometimes she struggles to control her temper. If she can stand up again, I fully support her." Winona Wallace smiled gently, her beautiful face without a hint of displeasure.
Reporters marveled at how Winona Wallace was both beautiful and kind-hearted.
Yet no one noticed she didn’t clarify the rumor that ’Leslie Howard could join the crew to play one of the female leads because of her.’
