Don't Fall For Me, CEO-Chapter 1081: No Relation Whatsoever
Kyle Keaton finished speaking and dragged July Quinn away.
As they passed the checkout counter, he took out a card and said, "Just pay for the black coffee."
"And not for the cake and milk tea for the lady?" The server was busy at the front counter and had no idea what had just happened in the corner.
The server thought the man was exceptionally well-dressed and distinguished, and the cost of the cake and milk tea would likely be trivial for him.
Why not pay for it as well?
But faced with the server’s questioning, Kyle Keaton remained unmoved.
"No, we aren’t related in any way. If she drank it, she should pay for it herself."
Although the server found his frugality unbelievable, they still settled the bill for the black coffee as per his request.
Anna found no reason to stay after being humiliated by her blind date, who then left with his lover.
What mattered was that ever since Kyle Keaton dumped coffee on her, the people around the booth had been casting disdainful looks her way.
Those looks suggested she was a mistress caught in the act, embarrassed by the man who was defending his wife.
Anna had never been scoffed at like this and, with teary eyes, grabbed her handbag, intending to leave the cafe in a hurry to tell her father about her grievances today.
But she didn’t expect to be stopped by the server at the checkout area.
"Ma’am, you still have an unpaid bill."
"Not paid yet? Didn’t he just..."
At first, Anna didn’t find anything amiss.
How much could tea, coffee, and cake add up to?
She didn’t need to sneak away from such a small amount. She was mainly under the impression that the Descendant of the Kanes had paid the bill here and thought the server didn’t realize they were together.
However, she never expected the server to tell her:
"The gentleman only paid for the black coffee. He said the cake and milk tea were yours and that you’re not related, so you should pay for them yourself."
Really, at that moment, Anna could hear the echoing in her own mind.
That damned man had even drawn a line with her over a cup of coffee!
She felt she had been too kind just now; why hadn’t she splashed a cup of milk tea in his face!
But now, it’s regrettable that she performed poorly earlier, as it was of no use.
Look at how the people around, upon hearing the server’s words, seemed more convinced she was the one interfering in someone else’s relationship, their looks full of contempt.
Anna couldn’t stand the pointing and whispers, so she immediately paid the bill and left the cafe quickly.
Meanwhile, Kyle Keaton had already taken July Quinn to his car.
"Aren’t you afraid people will think you’re petty after what you just did?"
Perhaps someone’s performance today was surprising, as July Quinn rarely opened up to talk to him.
Kyle Keaton was momentarily stunned and then answered seriously, "You drank that cup of coffee. You’re my wife, of course, I’ll pay for you."
The implication was clear—that blind date had nothing to do with him, and he wouldn’t cover her expenses.
"You have so much money you’ll never spend it all in ten lifetimes. Are you really worried about such a small amount?"
July Quinn looked at Kyle Keaton’s new car in Desrozin City.
The car was the latest limited edition Porsche, said to be globally limited, not available for delivery until the end of the year.
But just at the start of the year, Kyle Keaton already had it.
Clearly, the money had increased many times over.
But now, to him, money was as simple as numbers.
Without even talking about being the wealthiest man in the country, the Kane Group alone was enough for him to spend several lifetimes.
Yet such a person was actually fussing over the price of a cup of milk tea and a piece of cake.
"That amount of money means nothing to me, but my money can only be spent on my wife, do you understand?"
The man reached out, took July Quinn’s hand from her lap, and, on a whim, kissed her palm.
The tingling sensation instantly made July Quinn’s face turn red.
