Don't Fall For Me, CEO-Chapter 1153: Making a Mystery Out of Nothing?
"Yeah, isn’t it infuriating that even The Grim Reaper won’t take her?"
July Quinn responded casually, even glancing at the time on her watch.
In fact, she just wanted to see how much longer she’d have to wait for someone who invited her horseback riding, but hadn’t shown up yet and was wasting her time.
Yet this small gesture, in Joy Quinn’s eyes, seemed like July was anxious and afraid she’d ruin the good opportunity.
"Not at all, why should I be mad? Whether you live or die is none of my business. But I do want to thank you. If you hadn’t ruined my reputation back then, forcing me to leave home, I probably wouldn’t be able to handle matters before the King now."
Joy Quinn mentioned her position with the King, seemingly unintentionally, just to remind July that she was no longer who she used to be and that her status was now prestigious.
If July were sensible, she’d quickly beg for Joy to help her get a meeting with the King.
Of course, Joy wouldn’t help her, but she would thoroughly enjoy the process.
Unexpectedly, July showed no respect or awe when she heard Joy talking about handling matters with the King. Instead, she was full of disdain.
"Tsk, tsk, you get so proud just from doing things for him. Your aspirations really are limited."
The gap between dreams and reality was too great, causing Joy Quinn’s anger to flare up.
"At least it’s better than you pretending just to see the King."
Indeed, in Joy Quinn’s view, July’s riding attire and her earlier mention of horseback riding with the King were all just for show.
"If thinking that way makes you feel better, go ahead and indulge in your fantasies."
July didn’t want to waste more words with her and reached to press the elevator button.
Seeing this, Joy Quinn immediately barked orders to the guards, "What are you all standing around for? Hurry up and throw her out!"
Right, she not only wouldn’t let July meet the King but also wanted her to be thoroughly embarrassed and unable to stand in Desrozin City, just like she once did to Joy in Esteria.
"But this lady seems to know His Majesty the King." The guards hesitated.
Generally, the King’s schedule was not disclosed to outsiders, except for the guards and entourage manager.
Yet this woman precisely knew the King was going horseback riding today.
"She’s just lying, and you believe her? Don’t you have your own brains? Hurry up and throw this fraud out!"
Joy reprimanded the guards loudly, attracting attention from others in the hotel lobby.
Joy was very pleased with this outcome.
First, it showed others her uniqueness; she dared to scold even the King’s guards.
Second, attracting more attention now meant more people would notice when they threw July out later.
But the guards were still hesitant: "Maybe let’s consult the King first?"
If they threw out a guest of the King, their heads wouldn’t be enough to save them.
However, Joy insisted, "No need. If I say throw her out, then do it!"
The guards glanced at each other, but ultimately followed Joy’s instructions.
After all, lately, Joy had been sticking close to the entourage manager.
More importantly, they had seen Joy leaving the King’s room in the morning several times.
Though it was uncertain if she’d become their future queen, she certainly had the kind of relationship where she could influence the King.
Not wanting their heads to roll, they surrounded July Quinn.
