Doted by Many: I became the Top-Tier Celebrity!-Chapter 464 - 463: Brother’s Feelings (5)
Later on, as he grew up, he really excelled and even founded the Six Sects, becoming the Sect Leader.
He dedicatedly managed the pharmaceutical department under him, carefully selecting everyone who joined this department.
What he wanted to give his sister wasn’t just a person, but a department she could control.
To Isaac, this department was not just his subordinates; it was his childhood feelings and a special gift to his sister.
Cindy Sloane not only wanted to snatch the gift away but also destroy it; this was Isaac’s years of hard work and his determination to find his sister again.
How could Isaac agree? How could he face those pharmacists who followed his sister’s path from the start, or the genuine love he held for his sister from childhood?
Tiana Thorne watched her in silence, seemingly deep in thought, with a somewhat sorrowful expression.
"Miss Sloane, can you change your terms? As long as you heal my father, I can accept whatever you ask for," Keith Hawthorne felt chaotic inside, as he had never begged so humbly before.
Cindy Sloane’s gaze never left Isaac Ford.
Frowning, she asked once more, "I want the pharmaceutical department, Mr. Isaac. Will you agree this time or not? Make up your mind. Is it the relative you owe or your subordinates? A life and a department, it’s your decision, not mine."
Usually, Tiana Thorne threatens others, but today, this woman repeatedly threatened her brother in front of her.
Not happy.
Without waiting for Isaac to reply, she raised her eyebrows and her voice carried a hint of disdain: "No! Does Miss Sloane want to snatch it?"
"Very well, let’s pretend I was never here, then."
With that, her expression grew colder.
Keith Hawthorne quickly called after her, "Miss Sloane, please wait."
Cindy Sloane formed a cold smile at the corner of her mouth, turned to him, and said, "Young Master Hawthorne, look, your good brother doesn’t care about your father. For this woman, he doesn’t even care about your father’s life."
"Shut up." Claire Kane, usually so gentle, became angry.
Keith Hawthorne didn’t understand what the pharmaceutical department represented, but he could tell from his mother’s expression that it meant a lot to Isaac.
"Then, you all wait for Mr. Hawthorne to pass away."
"Miss Sloane, you might be speaking too soon. Who gave you such confidence to walk so blindly on your self-righteous path?"
Cindy Sloane felt the sarcasm in the words and frowned, "Miss Thorne, what do you mean?"
"I recall I just mentioned that you’re not the only one who can save Mr. Hawthorne, right?"
These words sounded at that moment, as if giving the Hawthorne family a sliver of hope.
Isaac Ford lowered his head to look at her, with an expression less cold than when facing others.
Tiana Thorne gave him a gentle smile, reassuring him.
Then she stepped out from behind Isaac Ford, looked at Heath Hawthorne on the bed, and finally, slowly asked, "Miss Sloane, can you guess if I can cure him?"
"You?"
Cindy Sloane clearly didn’t trust her capability, her expression full of mockery: "His illness isn’t something ordinary people can heal."
Tiana Thorne curved her lips into a smile, her pretty, fox-like eyes brimming with mischief as she lazily raised her eyebrows: "Coincidentally, I’m not an ordinary person."
The implication being, she could save him.
Rosie Rowan listened and finally woke up from the blow of Isaac having a girlfriend. Her gaze towards Tiana Thorne carried even more hate.
As Tiana approached the bedside, Rosie stepped over to protect Heath Hawthorne and glared angrily at Tiana, "You’re just a fraud; I won’t let you near my uncle, get lost!"
"A fraud?"
"My cousin just said, all you fortune-tellers are frauds."
Keith Hawthorne looked at Rosie, full of worry: "Rosie, maybe she..."
"Cousin, she suddenly appeared, didn’t reveal her identity early on, perhaps she’s really up to something, maybe even Isaac’s been duped. It’s just a pharmaceutical department! Isaac can gather another if he gathered the first one. What if he gives it to Cindy Sloane?"
With that, Rosie glared angrily at Tiana Thorne, her eyes red, hurriedly saying: "It’s her who persuaded Isaac not to give it, just to leave us nowhere to go, having no choice but to rely on her fortune-telling for treatment. In case, in case something happens to uncle, what will we do?"
Cindy Sloane turned to Tiana and chimed in with the questioning, "You might want the pharmaceutical department?"
At this moment, Keith Hawthorne, already skeptical of fortune-tellers, hesitated, suddenly feeling as if Isaac and this woman were in cahoots.
All he wanted was for his father to get better, that simple.
He looked at Isaac Ford, his expression turning cold, "Isaac, tell me the truth, is Tiana Thorne behind this, just for some money?"
Isaac Ford’s eyes were cold and distant, "No."
"Rosie’s words aren’t without reason, what did this woman offer you? Why are you siding with her, when Heath is the one lying there? He’s your uncle."
"Enough." Claire Kane stopped him.
Keith Hawthorne frowned, urgently asking, "Mom, why are you still defending him?"
"The pharmaceutical department can’t be given away, even if Miss Thorne allows it, I won’t agree."
Keith Hawthorne froze for a moment, realizing after the fact that maybe, the pharmaceutical department was as important to Isaac as his father was in his heart, and his mother must know something.
If so, is there really no hope for his father?
Serena Hawthorne bit her lip, wiped her tears, and looked at her, "Cindy, are you really going to watch him die and do nothing?"
"Don’t beg her." Isaac Ford’s eyes narrowed coldly, his expression austere as fall and winter.
Tiana Thorne knew that apart from her brother and Serena, no one else here believed her. Contemplating, she retreated back to Isaac Ford’s side.
Now, the only reason she could still speak was because she was currently pretending to be his girlfriend. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
Serena Hawthorne’s voice was choking with sobs, "Mom, what do we do now?"
Keith Hawthorne remained silent, clenching his fists until his palms were marked but felt no pain.
Claire Kane shed tears, quickly wiping them away, and gently said, "Serena, Keith, I know you both love your father dearly, and I do too, but we can’t lose our principles because of that. We’ll wait for the doctor, get your father to the hospital, do our best and leave the rest to fate."
Serena Hawthorne was unwilling to accept this and shook her head, pleading, "Mom, let Miss Thorne try. She truly can tell fortunes, she’s not a fraud."
Rosie Rowan, upon hearing this, hurriedly spoke up, "Cousin, how could you also believe this fraud?"
For the first time, she snapped at Rosie, "You know what happened at the banquet, I’ll try anything possible because he’s my dad!"
Cindy Sloane remained indifferent, just staying here as time passed, knowing that in the end, Isaac Ford would have to hand over what he cherished the most.
