Chapter 331: Worrisome

This was one of the sects which was near the border region. So, it was obvious they were intimidated by the fact that the enemy was already on their doorsteps.

This was something the Frozen Heart Sect had already predicted, and they were not even angry at them, but this event was like a catalyst for the beginning of real betrayals.

Slowly, more and more factions willingly joined the Yin Yang Harmony Sect, and these factions were not even in the border area.

....

Inside the main base of the Yin Yang Harmony Sect and Crimson Flame Palace.

"Should we make further advancements, Fairy Yan?"

Yan Lihua, who was overseeing the progress of the war, looked at Mo Chen, who was the one whom she met last time at Whispering Wind Mountain Range during the inheritance site opening.

"Is there any information on that individual?"

After getting a secure foothold inside the Northern Region, infiltrating their spies deeper had become very easy for them.

They all were trying to find the person who faced against the elder of the Crimson Flame Palace, and not only he survived. He blatantly killed one of the Heaven Ascension disciples like nothing.

They still were not able to understand how he did that while showing strength of the Void Tribulation realm. Till now, they reached the conclusion that it was some kind of illusion qi, but some people were doubtful.

There was also the possibility of it being a special physique too.

Nonetheless, no matter what it was, everyone was interested in getting their hands on the cultivator, and if it really was a cultivation technique, then secure it for themselves.

Winning the war might look enticing, but getting hands on a better cultivation technique which might be the best among the whole world was far more enticing for those who were in the Tribulation Transcendence stage and were about to walk the path of Dao.

Mo Chen shook his head. "Zhou Haoran was impulsive. I have a feeling that if he had paid more attention, then he might have caught that guy easily. In the end, that masked cultivator was trying to run away from him."

It was indeed the truth, or why would the masked cultivator run away? Certainly, he was afraid to face a Tribulation Transcendence cultivator as an opponent.

Yan Lihua nodded as that was indeed the case, but her mind was on something else. She was thinking of Lin Hao. Was it really something to do with him? She did not believe it completely, as he was too weak, and the physique he had was Yang type. "How many factions have submitted till now?"

"Total seven, and I have a feeling that by the end of today we would have eight of them. Sadly, Moonwater and Clear Wind have not shown any kind of move to decline or accept our conditions."

They had sent invitations to these two sects for talks, but no response had come till now.

"Let us wait a little longer then. In the end, they have to make a decision. I am worried about something else though. Till now, the Frozen Heart Sect has not retaliated at all," Yan Lihua sighed.

This made her feel some unease. After all, even if the Frozen Heart Sect thought themselves weak, they would have at least put up some fight. It went against their morals.

"Maybe they really are preparing to protect their sect area only," Mo Chen said with a little frown.

"We both know that is not true given their past behaviour. It is more like they are waiting for something, and it is little worrisome," Yan Lihua was even more worried because of Lin Hao. He was a spy from the Frozen Heart Sect, and the way he calmly left after killing so many of their disciples showed that he was quite confident.

There was one more thing that had been making them restless, the Lotus they had gotten from the central region.

They had come to the conclusion that Lin Hao definitely knew what it was, and it was valuable enough for him to give up staying in the Yin Yang Harmony Sect, where as a spy he could have done far more damage in time of war, making them totally crippled.

So, it was very obvious that he found the Lotus more valuable than even winning the war. The fact that the Lotus reacted when Lin Hao poured water on it showed that it was sentient.

That was enough to make it one of the most valuable herbs they had seen in their life. "Oh well, I am going to ask for some resources from these submitted factions, while you should go see the production of pills. Make sure everyone has at least two of them."

After saying that, Yan Lihua left, and Mo Chen looked at her empty seat. "When will she feel the urge to cultivate..."

....

Inside the Frozen Heart Sect, Lin Feng was sitting beside the Eternal Dao Lotus and feeding it chaos qi.

In the past years, it had a minor breakthrough and reached Mid Stage of Grade 8. For a spirit herb like it, this was very fast progression. It was only possible since he was feeding it chaos qi daily.

This process will again become fast once he broke through and reached the Heaven Ascension realm. That was when his chaos qi would reach the strength Eternal Dao Lotus would enjoy the most.

He had not asked his master to feed it because she needed every single strand of the little amount of chaos qi she had to gain some insights.

After feeding it and caressing it one last time, he came out of the abode and found Mu Yao being buried in his aunt Lian’s arms.

When Xuan Lian saw him, she ruffled the head of Mu Yao one last time and placed her down. "Go play with Hei Ying."

Mu Yao nodded immediately. Her hands were full with a single kind of fruits which Xuan Lian had brought from the forest, they only ripe once in ten years.

Mu Yao had eaten those before, and they were her favourite till now.

Once Mu Yao left, Xuan Lian looked at Lin Feng. "It has been a while since we went on a walk. Let’s take one "

Lin Feng nodded, and they took their favourite route behind the river, which was not frozen right now.

Lin Feng was reminded of their old times. Those carefree walks were quite enticing for him, but now it felt totally different. In a sense, it felt soothing walking beside her calmly now.

Neither Xuan Lian nor Lin Feng said anything, and they just walked quietly till they reached the boulder, and Xuan Lian sat on it. "It brings back some old memories."

Lin Feng sat down beside her and actively wrapped his arm around her. "Yes..."

Feeling his arm, Xuan Lian smiled. "This is just so not like you."

Lin Feng shook his head. "Maybe this is more like me"

"Maybe from your perspective, but for us, we have spent more time with that self of yours. I am not going to lie, I do miss that somehow," Xuan Lian closed her eyes and became totally relaxed in his arms.

Lin Feng exhaled slightly and put his head on hers. It was not like he did not feel lust . Given his physique, it was something he would always feel no matter what. He also cultivated with them almost daily.

Even right now, he wanted to do it with her. It was just that he didn’t show it more openly, and he was able to discern between things more easily now.

"How is the improvement going on?" Xuan Lian asked.

Lin Feng thought for a moment before speaking. "I understand the cultivation technique completely now. Now I am working on it whenever I get the chance to do so."

He had totally understood the cultivation technique of the Frozen Heart Sect. It was created by combining two cultivation techniques.

Their founder had taken inspiration from their grandmother to improvise the previous cultivation technique, which also involved the requirement of purity.

There were two ways for him to move forward with. First was to use another cultivation technique of matching traits and merge them somehow, or work on the weak parts to improve it to Heavenly grade.

He had decided on the second path as it was easiest, and with his returning memories, it was getting easier to see through complex intricacies.

"I see... I am going to sleep now. Do not disturb me," Xuan Lian did not remember when she last slept. She felt that it was time to have a simple nap.

It felt very calm and soothing in his arms, so she did not want to miss this chance.

"Alright..." Lin Feng began softly caressing her shoulders, and slowly he felt her drifting into sleep.

He maintained his posture so that she did not get disturbed and watched the flowing river.

Suddenly, he lost his attention as another piece of memory got unlocked.

It was a river so vast that the whole northern region would have submerged into it easily. It was in the primordial dimension.

He did not know why he got this memory, but given the fact that it took so long for him to remember something like that, it definitely was not an ordinary memory.
