Chapter 365: Proper Burial

This city was one of the biggest cities he had seen in this world and this was still just the outer area of the Central Region. This showed the prosperity of the Central Region.

He used his yang eyes and as he had expected there was not a single ghost here. It was obvious given the clan which was in the corner of the city.

Having a clan meant there were definitely some cultivators above the Void Tribulation Realm present in the city when darkness enveloped the city.

It was true that becoming a ghost did not guarantee sentience but as time passes those ghosts which are higher in cultivation realm would develop it.

So after centuries any ghost who was above Void Tribulation must be sentient and would be cultivating.

Well this saved him the trouble of gathering yin qi from villages and cities, since if these ghosts passed by them they would definitely absorb all of the yin qi. All he had to do was take it from them.

He looked at the pavilions of the clan and found that this city was not visited by the Yin Yang Harmony Sect or other factions.

It was expected since he had come across many spatial tears while coming here.

He entered inside the pavilion quite easily since the spirit stones used to keep the protective arrays active were long used up.

The treasury was filled with lots of mildly corroded weapons and perfectly fine spirit stones. As for the spirit herbs, they were all spoiled.

He picked up the spirit stones and came out of the pavilion and continued his journey. As he had thought the villages which appeared in his path were devoid of ghost qi.

Finally after he crossed a river, he saw a massive crater in the ground, big enough to hold a city. He had arrived at the location where he would fulfill Gou Tiancheng’s final request.

There was a big mountain nearby so it must be the place where the sect was present. He went there and saw that there was a massive area covered in tombstones.

This must be the place where Gou Tiancheng wanted his remains to be buried, but first Lin Feng looked around and found the valley which was still frozen.

His grandmother’s feathers were strong enough to leave a permanent mark in this world so it was obvious that this ice would not melt ever.

He arrived above it and found a single bony arm which was shining with a faint luster, similar to the remains of Gou Tiancheng.

He sighed in relief as this arm was intact. He could now give him a proper burial.

...

After giving the burial at exactly the middle of the burial ground, he placed a rock carved into a tombstone and wrote Gou Tiancheng.

With this request fulfilled he went to look for the sect treasury. Gou Tiancheng definitely had not taken it so it would still have a lot of spirit stones.

Just like the cities in the outer region, the sect ground was also quite big. Although these sects did not even come close to the truly grand sects he had seen in his previous life.

The treasury was unprotected as usual and he really found a sect worth of spirit stones inside it.

This much would be enough for the Frozen Heart Sect for many years to come and this was from only one sect. There must be a lot of these sects inside this region.

He should really look for other such sects in the outer area before going to the inner regions.

...

BOOOMMM!

Yan Lihua watched as a spatial tear was activated due to her attack.

This was the only way to travel safely in the Central Region.

This method was tiring though, that was why they always brought a lot of disciples with them to keep attacking and moving.

There were a few dangers in this method too. First was the size of the tear. If it was small then the darkness which escaped and instantly enveloped the area would not touch her, but if it was big then there was a chance that it would envelop her and she would die.

The other danger was her attack missing the tear and just making it more prone to activation instead of activating it.

If that happened then just by flying near it would trigger it. This was one of the common reasons why most of their disciples died here in the Central Region.

Nonetheless she had to face this risk. If she died then she died. Internally she was already quite broken.

It would take time before she was able to totally let go of her feelings for the sect. Just severing her ties did not mean she instantly forgot everything.

She wondered if the Frozen Heart Sect had attacked the Eastern Region or not.

It had already been a few days since she had begun her journey in the Central Region after all and Lin Feng would have definitely destroyed most of the prominent locations by now.

When this thought entered her mind she shook her head and sent one attack below her. She was tired and it was time to rest again to recover her spiritual qi.

Maybe she should just make her cave abode here. It was not like anyone would come this deep.

There was one more issue. Although she had gathered a lot of yang resources, would they be enough to balance her yin?

She just needed to reach the peak of Tribulation Ascendance. After that she could walk her path alone, no matter how slow her progress would be.

...

A few thousand miles away, Bai Qingya was using the same strategy to move deeper inside this desolate land.

Unlike Yan Lihua though, she was enjoying the scenery, watching all the nature and the way beasts and spirit herbs had adapted in this veil of darkness.

Her mind was at ease right now, totally free from all the restrictions she had before.

While enjoying the view she also wanted to find any clue to know what had really happened to this region.
