Duality of Shadows-Chapter 1003: Unique And Strange
The situation flipped quickly. Not even the Heaven’s Will could have predicted that the queen, influenced by him, would gain an insight into the Birth-Law and uncover the truth about her powers ahead of time.
Alm and Bruno were thinking at an impressive speed. Meanwhile, their allies and those divinities rushed toward them after sensing the massive changes. One glance at their expressions was enough to grasp the gravity of the situation.
The whale took two seconds and looked up. The horizon of that place, which had once seemed like an infinite, dark distortion, was now covered in golden lines. He focused his Celestial soul to sense it more carefully until something became clear.
The queen hadn’t fully mastered the use of the Origin-Law yet. She originally knew very little about it, but now, by tapping into her true power, she had learned how to force that law into submission. Still, she was just beginning to understand its properties.
Because of that, she was taking time to fully control all the heavenly laws. Maybe it would take an hour for the situation to become irreversible — they had that much time to act.
Attack her now? If they’d lacked confidence before, now that she had suddenly awakened her hidden power, it was downright impossible.
What could they do? There was only one possible opening: exploiting the Origin-Law, which the queen still wasn’t fully accustomed to using.
But at that moment, everything was already under her control: the heavenly laws, the 777 celestial energies, everything. Their power, which relied on the Origin-Law, depended on their allies in the array. This was their only chance.
But, of course, only 50,000 people... or even if they used every single one of the billions of life forms in their internal universe, it wouldn’t be enough to change the outcome.
"The wisps..." the whale murmured, turning quickly to everyone around him.
With a wave of his hand, he opened the entrance to his internal universe. Everyone understood and entered without hesitation.
At that moment, the nine-star tree and their closest allies were on the planet Pristine, taking care of billions of newly arrived wisps.
The people inside the internal universe couldn’t know or sense anything about the external world. That universe was almost completely isolated from the heavenly laws. Only things like the reincarnation cycle functioned there, as allowed by Alm and Bruno.
Everyone felt their arrival and looked up. They saw the divinities and the eight allies with heavy expressions. Behind them, they didn’t see the two radiant souls. There was only a single figure, seemingly a middle ground between the two in appearance and energy.
Ruri and the others widened their eyes. They knew that this fusion only happened in extreme and desperate situations. He advanced and faced the wisps gathered in that city’s square on the planet.
That figure took a deep breath. His eyes gleamed, and his entire Celestial soul pulsed softly.

"I don’t have much time left."
His voice was cold, but the entire internal universe heard him and froze. Even the wisps, whether conscious or mindless, immediately turned toward him.
That figure stared at them, and a clear connection formed between them. The wisps sensed his intentions and his unshakable will. He, the pure fragment of Omega, had connected with his purest counterpart: the wisps.
"The queen is about to fully master the heavenly laws... but unfortunately, I’m still too weak to stop her alone," he said, his expression grim.
"You’re my only chance. Your existence was created by a power she still can’t control properly. If I use you completely, I’ll have a shot at stopping her... no, I will bring her down."
Those outside could clearly feel the impending disaster. The most experienced divinities knew this was the end. That woman had the power to control the force that governed everything and everyone? Against that, they were less than insects. And yet, that figure still claimed he could do it...
Everyone in the internal universe took a deep breath. They didn’t understand how or why the wisps were so crucial, but his words clearly implied the sacrifice of all the wisps.
"Big bro..." the little wisp boy murmured.
He knew that radiant soul was that round man he had met for just a few minutes before the divinities attacked his village. Even though they had barely interacted, all the wisps instantly felt at ease and close to him. It was inexplicable, but by his side, they felt safe.
Alm and Bruno, during their first interaction with the wisps, had already understood a bit. Just looking at the wisps made them feel what they felt. It was the Omega connection with the pure Origin-Law. The wisps could clearly sense their intentions as if they were part of them. The two wanted to protect and help them, and that was transmitted.
Now was no different. That little boy was the first, but all the others turned toward that figure. Fluctuations of determination rose within them. Not only the intelligent wisps, but even the mindless ones conveyed the same resolve.
Above, the allies sighed. All the divinities trembled and clenched their fists. They had always wanted to protect the wisps, but now they felt powerless in the face of their inevitable sacrifice. But... they couldn’t do anything.
"I promise: I will defeat her one day. Then, I’ll find a way to restore you," Alm and Bruno said, heavy with guilt.
They exhaled sharply and nodded. At that moment, all the wisps felt a force calling them. They didn’t resist and, unexpectedly, felt strangely comforted.
Billions of wisps started to shine like little stars. Their energy bodies transformed into colorful fragments that floated through space. These fragments were drawn to the Chaos Tree, which was an intrinsic part of the whale’s body.
With his Celestial soul, the figure above sensed that immense power merging with him.
The whale opened his eyes, and a radiant light flared within them. In that instant, all the golden power of the queen and the celestial laws she was mastering seemed to feel the birth of a new force.
The queen was an extremely ancient being, having studied for eons all the laws and energies of the world, which stemmed from the Birth-Law. Now that she had activated the peak of her power, manipulating the Birth-Law became simple for her.
Subjugating the celestial laws became an almost natural process, but the lack of control over the Origin-Law was a temporary problem she was addressing. It was only because she had just awakened, and if she had time, that other half of her power would also become part of her.
However, Alm and Bruno, in an incredibly short amount of life, with the help of the tattoo technique created by Isla or Meru, the vast knowledge provided by the system, and their skill and practice, already had an astonishing mastery over the Origin-Law — something the queen could never have dreamed of achieving.
They had even created the Eclipsing Divinity strike, using the power of that law as its base, even before they had a basic understanding of what the Origin-Law really was.
The reason for this extraordinary affinity with the Origin-Law wasn’t something Alm and Bruno thought much about, but both had a theory. It certainly had to do with the fact that they lived with a divided soul and still accepted to remain that way.
The truth was that, since they obtained the mandate and the pillar, the two realized they could reunite permanently if they wanted to. However, they both learned to live apart and fully accepted one another.
They were, at their core, one entity. Alm fully recognized that Bruno’s persona, the one who lived on Earth — with his innocence, impulsiveness, and even his peculiar tastes — was one of the most important experiences his soul had ever had.
In the same way, Bruno understood the importance of Alm’s essence. In the end, both were parts of the same whole, even after becoming such distinct individuals.
A soul is a fragmented manifestation of the Origin-Law. Later, the celestial laws shaped that fragmentation, adding elements that culminated in a unique person. Alm and Bruno, however, had been split again, but remained connected.
This bond was rare and strange. Because they could feel everything the other felt and thought, the parts of the Origin-Law present in each of them were perceived separately, allowing them both to learn about it instinctively over time.
Now...
The whale waved his hand. The entire world — with all its universes and life forms — felt as if time was moving in slow motion. He exhaled, and Liumi appeared in his hands. That was his only chance to turn the tide.
