Duality of Shadows-Chapter 1012: Pay The Karma
The two sighed. Now they could act like the heavenly laws and initiate life in the universes. They had access to 60% of all universes created at the beginning of everything.
Bruno spoke excitedly, ’We have plenty of time. Let’s officially become the creator and protector deity now. The queen will have trouble moving between universes, while we can travel freely and even create them from scratch.’
The whale made another move. Each universe had its own space-time laws, and with their tattoos, they could control them. They had a few million years, but for life to fully flourish, that time still wasn’t enough.
’A thousand times is the limit; it should work,’ Alm commented casually. ’One day for us in the underworld will be equivalent to a thousand inside that universe. But just leaving them alone might not result in paying off our karma. We need to put people in place to care for them and expand our influence.’
Bruno agreed. They quickly focused and fully entered the internal universe.
Upon arriving at the Pristine planet, everyone rushed to meet them, but Ruri and Meru shot forward faster than the rest, like arrows, and reached them first. Both stopped in front of the souls with teary, frustrated eyes… they couldn’t embrace them in that form.
Alm and Bruno turned to Meru, observing her closely. She had grown significantly, now standing at an impressive six foot three at 18 years old, though it seemed she had forced her growth to stop.
The whale’s blood had given her a tall stature and the potential to be strong and powerful. However, her figure remained slender and delicate. She was beautiful like a fairy, with well-defined feminine features but without exaggeration.
Physically, Meru resembled Ruri a lot. Anyone who saw them could easily mistake them for sisters due to their similarity. However, there were marked differences: Meru was about a foot taller and had brown eyes inherited from her father, making her uniquely distinct.
"Sorry, we missed three birthdays…" Bruno said awkwardly.
Meru trembled, tears in her eyes, and shook her head. "Daddy came back... that’s enough for me."
Everyone in the internal universe was very anxious and worried, unsure of what had happened. Liumi, Vorion, and Fides had explained that he managed to strike the queen, but after that, they knew nothing more; all they could do was wait.

They nodded. That little girl of theirs now seemed very mature and had become a beautiful woman. She had worked tirelessly during those years and had now reached the peak of divine cultivation, just like all their direct allies.
As for her soul… the two were very surprised. Even without past lives to remember, she had independently reached a state close to the divine.
After that, the two felt the presence of the new planets from the underworld, now fully integrated into their universe. The Nine-Star Tree had already arranged them perfectly, spreading them throughout the inner universe. Among them were the surviving Cerberus from Vrix’s family. During the years the whale had spent on Planet Gloom, Vrix had already returned to the underworld and ensured that everyone was safe.
Now, Vrix was finally reunited with his family. Lieson, on the other hand, had long since found his relatives who lived in the whale’s universe. The Black Phoenix Clan had been rebuilt, its members reborn from the children of his parents, Yanson and Lirelia. However, when he arrived, he discovered that both had already passed away from old age. Even so, their souls had reincarnated within that universe, and one day, they would remember their son.
Alm and Bruno then called a meeting with their entire army. As soon as everyone arrived, they told them everything that had happened—without hiding anything.
"We have precious time to grow stronger, but we won’t be able to do it alone," Bruno concluded, looking at everyone.
"You all must break through to the immortal realms. I plan to send you to several primitive universes where you should guide people and spread my words and religion… but without taking away their free will or forcing anything upon them."
"Every soul must experience good and evil, pain and happiness; only then will they learn. You cannot interfere directly but must always give an opportunity to those willing to follow the right path. That way, those prepared will naturally follow you. Our goal is for souls to live in peace and evolve. Because… I need to help them and repay my karma. I must return what I took from them."
Everyone listened and clenched their fists. Rehvka puffed up his chest and spoke: "Master, you’ve already saved us and are taking care of everyone. We owe you everything. We’ll do everything we can to help. Afterward, we’ll help kill that bitch at your side. We won’t disappoint you."
The two nodded. It was the most direct and efficient path, but doing it alone was impossible. They nodded again, and then the tree of chaos trembled.
Quickly, the entire Pristine planet was enveloped by a strange and indescribable power. The nine-star tree and all the immortals were left stunned by the colossal amount of Immortal Chaos Fragment. They had never seen even 1% of that during their long lives.
Alm spoke dryly, "Everyone must isolate and study some of this. It will make things much easier. Once you feel you’ve gained some understanding, I’ll take you to the new underworld, where you’ll absorb chaotic heavenly laws to reach the immortal realms… I can’t help you with that. Each one must achieve it on their own."
He nodded, and a portion of the Immortal Chaos Fragment moved before each of the fifty thousand present. This consumed a third of it. They then moved the remainder to the nine-star tree, Ciceya, and Anizu.
"Use it to cultivate," they said, turning away. The nine-star tree had long been on the verge of breaking through; with that, it would be the first to ascend its body to the immortal realms.
Those two divinities would ascend one or two levels with it. All the allies already had their souls in a near-divine state; they just needed greater understanding and resources to break through.
The Immortal Chaos Fragment was the closest energy to the Birth-Law possible. Souls belonged to the part of the Origin-Law, but learning about the other half was like understanding Yin and deepening comprehension of Yang. They were different and opposing forces on the surface, but, in truth, complementary sides of the same coin.

A year passed, and Alm and Bruno began three universes. On that day, the nine-star tree felt ready; but to the surprise of the two, Meru and Ruri also wanted to leave and break through.
They didn’t question it and brought the three to the underworld.
The whale watched the two women side by side, holding hands and focusing together. They were closer than just mother and daughter; they were originally one, separated. But Alm and Bruno didn’t intend to tell them that at the moment.
Because of this, together, with such a strong connection and with the whale as the center of their union, they naturally felt like one.
Seeing this, they understood how Meru had reached an almost divine soul in these years. The two started cultivating together, and with their deep bond combined with the influence of the mirror on Meru’s soul, she was able to rise.
Missionaries gained divine souls due to Heaven’s Will, and primordial chaos items held a bit of that essence within them. Therefore, it wasn’t so surprising for something like this to happen.
They opened their eyes, and soon, their gazes were fixed on the whale. A will capable of moving mountains arose within them. Suddenly, countless celestial runes appeared, and both began absorbing energy in silence.
Even the nine-star tree was surprised. In a few minutes, they broke through to the True God Realm, even before him.
When they finished, both smiled and jumped into the whale, hugging him tightly together. Alm and Bruno just sighed, but they felt immense joy for them.
Shortly after, the tree advanced. Then, he, Ciceya, and Anizu were taken to the first primitive universes.
Meru and Ruri asked if he would give them a universe too, but the whale refused. Those with primordial chaos items couldn’t perform this function, as there was the risk of the queen sensing the fluctuations of the item, even from a distance. It was safer for them to remain inside the internal universe and cultivate there.
The two listened but didn’t show any disappointment, surprising Alm and Bruno. In fact, they seemed relieved. They definitely didn’t want to spend millions of years away from him, and now, they could stay together as much as possible.
However, the responsibility and work for those who stayed behind would be much greater. After all, they needed to care for the entire universe and create as many immortals as possible. The nine-star tree was no longer there to serve as a teacher.
In addition, there was an army of Wisps whose fate was still uncertain. Alm and Bruno had to analyze them carefully to determine whether they could cultivate or not.
Thus, in ten years, Rehvka, Corin, and Maelik were the first to break through and become immortals. As disciples of the whale, they didn’t disappoint.
Within a hundred years, all the generals had broken through. In a thousand years, all fifty thousand members of the array had finally succeeded.
Except for Meru, who had no issues due to the mirror within her, everyone who broke through and gained a divine soul faced the same problem as Ruri—having a body that was not adapted to a divine soul. Other immortals would have to reincarnate and create a new body, but Alm and Bruno had already learned the method to resolve everything and could reconstruct their bodies perfectly.
Alm and Bruno didn’t separate the families. Corin, Calirer, and their children went together to one universe. The same happened with the others — those with children or who preferred to work with someone close were free to do so.
With everyone prepared, more than 45,000 universes were born and came to be governed by immortals. And so, the years passed slowly...
