Dumped A Scumbag At The Altar For A One Night Stand With A Billionaire-Chapter 159: Go Home
Lord in heaven, please accept my final prayers!’
Kaleb chanted in his mind, his boss was enraged and it would be even more terrible for him if Tristan found out he knew about Celine coming along on the trip this whole time, he was officially doomed!
Just as Kaleb was contemplating what to say to save himself from his boss’s rage, a soft yet confident voice suddenly sounded,
"What’s wrong Mr Grayson, am I not supposed to be here?"
Celine who was close enough to hear what Tristan was talking about with his assistant suddenly asked.
At her sudden question, Tristan was momentarily rendered silent as he found himself gazing straight into her mesmerizing face. There was displeasure of Ryan’s face as it seemed her attention had been taken away from him.
"If you have any questions you should ask me directly, I don’t think Kaleb has any idea that I’d be here." She said again.
Kaleb was already singing her praises a thousand times in his head, good thing she was here, she saved him!
"Why are you here?" He asked coldly, slightly averting his eyes from her face.
She smiled lightly, "I’m a part of Grayson Corp now, I can choose to go to the Rowena islands if I want to." She replied steadily.
Tristan frowned at her words, there was no way he was allowing her to come along on this trip. He was hoping the distance this trip would put between them coupled with how busy he would be with work would allow him to think less about her, letting her come along on this trip would mean endless distraction for him.
"Go home, you can’t come on this trip." He said sternly with finality not leaving any chance for protest.
Ryan wanted to speak up, but before he could even open his mouth, Celine already did.
"Why not, can you give me a reason Mr Grayson?" She asked calmly not fazed by his stern expression.
Kaleb gave her a secret thumbs up in his mind, no one would dare question Tristan whenever he had that air of finality and strictly gave his verdict, this woman was bold indeed.
"I don’t need a reason to choose who I want on a business trip with me, you can’t come." His voice was beginning to rise, showing he was slowly losing his temper.
"I don’t believe you have a choice on this Mr Grayson, I’m coming." She said, mimicking his final tone.
Tristan narrowed his eyes at her, "This is my company..." He began in a domineering tone but she cut him off,
"And you’re forgetting that I’m an investor on this project, I can choose to go and supervise the progress of this project, you have no choice Mr Grayson." Her face was mesmerizing with a triumphant smirk sitting on her lovely lips.
Tristan gritted his teeth, her every mannerism was captivatingly irresistible making him want nothing more than for her to just not come on this trip, she was going to drive him crazy, but with her argument, he really had no say to stop her from coming if she wanted to.
Tristan took a menacing step forward, "You’re going to regret coming on this trip." He said in an evidently threatening manner, his hazel eyes overbearingly stern.
"We’ll see about that." She gave him a plain reply then went past him, deliberately bumping her shoulder against him as she passed by muttering a quiet word under her breath, "Jerk!"
He heard it, his breath hitched and his lips parted to say something but he held back the words, a low curse escaping his lips instead as her familiar fragrance wafted into his nose the moment she walked past him, and as her shoulders touched him, just the light contact had awoken something hot inside him.
F*ck! She was really going to drive him crazy.
Ryan walked by with a smirk on his face, also bumping Tristan as he passed by. He stood outside the restroom where Celine had just entered, "I’m out here if you need anything Celine."
Kaleb, seeing his boss’s reaction grinned quietly to himself.
’Why torture yourself this much president? You obviously want the woman, yet you’re trying to ignore her, let’s see how that will turn out.’
This was going to be even more interesting.
He tilted his head to look at Ryan who was standing outside the restroom door like a guard, "President, isn’t that Ryan being so annoying? She was just going to the restroom but he tagged along like a little puppy. Someone should tell him to give the woman some space to have privacy, he must be suffocating her with how clingy he is."
As Kaleb said this, he looked up at the man’s profile and was met with a face set rigidly in stone. But he caught the faintest trace of a frown on his brows and got even bolder.
"Ryan might be quite unruly, but if your ordered him to stay away from her then..."
"Why would I do that? If he wants to stick to her that’s his business, it’s none of my concern."
’Ahem...it doesn’t concern you but you said quite a lot of words in one breath just to convince me that you don’t care but okay, I hear you.’
"Sure president, you shouldn’t concern yourself with such trifle matters." Kaleb agreed and thought it was the end of that Chapter and his boss would move along because right now they were obstructing the entrance where a long line of other employees were waiting outside to board but wouldn’t dare step in, not until the boss had left the entrance.
Kaleb waited until Tristan would move but the man remained in the same spot, his eyes shifted towards the restroom where Ryan was still standing religiously outside and realization struck Kaleb.
’Is president actually waiting for her too? Isn’t that cute?’ he laughed quietly to himself.
"President...we are obstructing the way, people are waiting to board." Kaleb said in a low voice after some time.
Tristan tilted his head landing a glare at Kaleb who quickly shrunk his neck and sealed his mouth.
’Or we can keep everyone else waiting and remain standing right here just so you can wait for the woman you like.’ He added internally.
But a second later, Tristan marched away towards his private coach in the plane. Kaleb turned to look and sure enough, she had just come out of the restroom. He smiled shaking his head.
Before long, the plane zoomed through the long runway then slowly swooped up into the sky.
