Chapter 222: Gone To Meet Him

"Scour the whole city, no the whole country itself if you have to, but find my kids!" Tristan growled into the phone before hanging up then throwing it across the room. He ran a hand through his hair in frustration before taking a deep calming breath. π—³πš›π—²π•–π•¨π•–π—―πš—πš˜π•§π•–π—Ή.π—°π—Όπ•ž

He turned around and walked into the house, Celine was sitting staring into space, she had a calm look in her eyes but he knew better. Coming to sit by her side she didn’t seem to notice, he placed his hand on top of her own and she jolted slightly, as if she was just realizing his presence.

She slowly looked at him, her eyes filling with tears, it seemed she’d been doing everything she could to keep calm, but internally, her heart wasn’t at ease.

The tears slowly trailed down her face, "I should have looked after them more." She said softly, "I shouldn’t have taken them out of the house, I should have protected them more, it’s my responsibility to look after them and keep them safe but I failed... I failed, it’s my fault... it’s all my fault."

Tristan held her shoulders turning her to look at him, he wiped the tears on her face with his thumbs, "Don’t say that, it’s not your fault, you did nothing wrong, you’ve been the best mother you could be to them, you raised them alone without any support, and you’ve made sure to be there and protect them as much as you could, you’ve not failed them, Ryan is just too insane, and we’re going to find our children and take them away from his captivity, then he’ll get what he deserves." He cupped her face saying in an assuring tone.

Celine let out a breath to calm herself down and nodded, she couldn’t lose her cool at this moment, she had to get a hold of her own emotions.

"Celine, I promise you, nothing will happen to them, I’ll make sure of that." Tristan assured looking into her eyes.

Celine looked up at him trying to hold back the tears that were threatening to pool in her eyes once again, and she nodded, she had no doubts in her whatsoever of his words, she believed that he would do anything to keep his children safe.

Tristan once again wiped her tears before pulling her into his arms, he held her patting her back comfortingly.

Tristan had also lost his cool earlier, which was why he had thrown his phone across the room, it was clear that Ryan was sick in the head, he would make sure he got what he deserved for doing this to his children.

---

Two days passed by.

Kaleb hesitated to speak seeing the dark look in Tristan’s eyes, he knew that Tristan was incredibly irritated due to the fact that his children had suddenly gone missing, anyone would be worked up, and in Tristan’s case, it was incredible darkness and rage.

"President, the men you gave an assignment just called." Kaleb reported hesitantly while looking at Tristan warily sitting behind the desk in the office working on some urgent files.

Tristan hadn’t come to the office in these past few days, however he had been called in for an urgent issue that couldn’t be ignored, Tristan had come to work on the problem for a few hours before he’d leave the office while Kaleb was the one handling any other external issues on his behalf.

Hearing what Kaleb said Tristan’s action paused, he looked up in askance, "And?"

Kaleb hesitated for a second more, the look in Tristan’s eyes looked like one capable of tearing someone apart, Kaleb couldn’t help but wonder, if... By any slightest chance, something should happen to his kids, would the whole world have to pay for it?

"I’m sorry President, but they said they couldn’t find Ryan’s tracks at all, it’s as if he had disappeared from the country itself, and they have been relentlessly trying to track the phone number he used to call a few days ago, but it seems non-existent." After saying this Kaleb fell silent, Tristan’s face looked intensely dark, but he was silent for some time with his elbows propped onto the table while he supported his chin.

Tristan suddenly snorted, "So that bastard has actually prepared this much, of course he knew the amount of power I could utilize, and he has prepared for all of it."

Regardless of Ryan’s threats, the Blakewood family patriarch had insisted they involved the military since he had strong connections with the military, however despite the undoubted efforts from the military, Ryan seemed like a phantom that had suddenly disappeared from the face of the earth.

’Very good Ryan, very good.’ Tristan thought, his expression turning deadly.

Without another word he got up from his seat behind the desk and made to leave the office, "Call my lawyers Kaleb." He instructed.

Kaleb was suddenly taken aback, his face showing worry and doubt, "What, but why?" Kaleb asked.

"Tell them to prepare everything needed for the handover of an asset," Tristan instructed as he walked hastily with Kaleb tailing behind him, "After that... Call the reporters and prepare for a press conference."

Hearing that Kaleb stopped in his tracks, due to how closely he had been following Tristan around lately, he had heard of Ryan’s every single demand. If Tristan was now calling for a press conference, did that mean that... He was giving in to Ryan’s demands?

"But President..."

"Do as I say Kaleb." Tristan cut him off in a rigid tone that left room for no arguments as he got into the car.

Kaleb who had been assigned another task could no longer follow him, but he had reluctance and fear written all over his face.

’You can’t do this president, you can’t give up the Grayson Corp that you’ve worked so hard for to Ryan... You just can’t!’

---

Tristan headed straight for the Villa, as his car parked he stepped down and went inside.

However, immediately he came inside he was met with Natalia who seemed to be about to rush out of the house.

Natalia had been dealing with some personal problems that made her drift away from many people in her life lately, but the moment she heard about Leo and Leah, she let everything go to be here for her friend.

"Mr Grayson..." Natalia called seemingly shocked to see him there at the moment.

"Where’s Celine." Tristan asked.

Immediately he asked that, Natalia looked visibly shocked and at a loss for words before she quickly spoke up a second later, "Celine...? She’s not here."

Tristan narrowed his eyes at the suspicious way Natalia was behaving, it was clear she knew something about Celine’s whereabouts but was trying to hide it.

"Where did she go?" He asked calmly.

Natalia fell silent, lowering her head, "Answer me." Tristan demanded in a and steady tone, "Where, is Celine?"

Natalia sighed, "Oh darn it, fine I’ll just give it to you then, I wonder why she left me here to stall before giving you the letter?"

Tristan frowned, "What letter?"

"Celine has decided to..." Natalia began but once again stopped herself before finally speaking up with a defeated look,

"That piece of shit Ryan called, Celine...has gone to meet with him, he said if she did, he might tell her where he kept the children."

"What?"

"I told her it was a bad idea to believe that jerk, after all he had demanded so many things, but Celine was desperate, she had decided to meet him but asked me stall you for some time before telling you about it, she knew you wouldn’t like the idea."

"Damn it, how could she..." Tristan growled a curse before suddenly turning around to storm off.

"Mr Grayson, wait!!" Natalia ran after him, she quickly caught up to him before he got to the car.

"Celine left a letter for you, to tell you where she is."

Tristan still looked incensed, but he took the letter from Natalia and opened it. But reading the contents of the letter he suddenly froze.
