Chapter 860: Chapter 860: Private meal

"....You....IDIOT!!" Khione roared and cursed, her right hand already reeling back and preparing to give Frost another slap, this time harder. Clearly he wasn’t thinking straight and needed some sense knocked into him.

But at the last second she stopped, her mind hearing his words a little differently. He did something so foolish knowing full well he wouldn’t be in any danger and all so that he would owe her one. Her heart couldn’t help but feel a little moved by his sincerity, that foolishly innocent smile on his lips only cemented this gesture, leaving her raised hand in the lurch with nowhere to release its momentum.

She glared at him, forcing herself to keep an angry expression. "Are you seriously saying you willingly poisoned yourself just so you’d end up owing me one?" She couldn’t deny that his actions had moved her heart given the current fluttering that was growing and spreading within but still, she couldn’t agree with his methods.

In response to her rather forceful question Frost kept that innocent smile of his as he raised the hand that was previously doused in poison and caressed her cheek.

"Now you’ve got another incentive to come and find me when I leave. I can’t pay back a debt if we’re separated after all." As he spoke his eyes revealed a deep sense of care and affection, he hoped that their separation would be as brief as possible. A debt especially an open one was a surefire way to retain her interest. An extra dose of urging to speed up the process of Khione finally leaving home for the first time.

"...Idiot." Khione was silent for a second or two letting his words thoroughly sink in before heavily blushing and cursing his stupidity once again albeit with much warmer and shyer tone. Her anger dissipated, her imposing form shrinking as she twisted and shuffled in embarrassment, her hand reaching up to hold Frost’s in an endearing manner. In this moment the Raging Valkyrie or the guardian angel that Frost perceived didn’t exist, all there was, was a young girl succumbing to her emotions in front of her first crush. The romantic atmosphere was palpable; any bystander would likely feel the urge to vomit as a bright pink aura radiated from the young couple.

Thankfully this interaction was bereft of lust otherwise the situation could have gotten rather heated given the seclusion of their current environment.

A couple minutes later, after Khione had had her romantic fill and felt like a star in the sky the two of them left the specially prepared battle space and returned to the fishing deck.

The moment they got back a staff member eyed them up for any injuries and or leftover poison before giving the usual standard responses.

"Do you require us to dispose or dismantle the carcass?" The staff member wasn’t worried about the Ruellete angler still being alive given Khione’s strength but there was still a chance that given her obvious wealth she may hire a clean up crew.

"No need it was a Ruellete angler, nothing worth the effort to preserve and I’ve already burned the body to ash." Khione casually waved him off before informing him that they wouldn’t be continuing their fishing experience. Their reserved platinum level dinner was awaiting them on the upper decks, a meal they were really looking forward to.

"Understood, thank you for choosing to patronise our services today, I hope we see you again in the future." The staff member smiled genuinely in response, happy that he wouldn’t have to get involved in the disposal of a useless and poison laced carcass. Guests that cleaned up after themselves were always welcome.

"It was a fun experience, thank you." Frost thanked the staff members and smiled towards the other fishers who in turn nodded their heads slightly in respect to a fellow fisher. Frost may be weak and blessed with a face that would drive most men insane with jealously, but he had courage and grit, qualities that demanded respect.

The two then made their way back up to the upper decks where they would likely dine with the ship’s Captain or their representative and be served the highest quality foods the SS. Gwienfieldal had to offer.

"Is there a reason why you collected a vial of the angler’s poison?" Khione asked as they walked. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

"Although its not the highest quality stuff I have a brother that’s all about poisons and I promised to get him a vial of something a while back and never delivered." His younger brother Wilsander, a Dungeon core with a reptilian form and who saw poisons as delicacies, sumptuous treats that would enhance and complicate his own innate venom qualities. He was one of the few siblings Frost occasionally talked to through the Dungeon’s communication system. A cute, hardworking and endearing younger brother that made him want to spoil him with candies or in this case different types of poisons.

"That’s nice of you...I’m usually the ones receiving gifts rather than the giver." Khione felt a little guilty as she said this, she was used to being the one that was cherished and doted on.

"That’s to be expected, you’re the youngest after all." He didn’t hold this against her and didn’t see her as selfish in any way as he knew how much she was spoiled by her family after all.

A couple minutes later the two arrived in the main atrium and were guided to a private seating area that was closed off from the rest of the guests, higher up and with a separate exit from the kitchen. They were a little early but not by much.

"Welcome Princess Khione, Sir Frost I’ll be your server today in the main atrium, please let me know if there’s anything I can do to make your experience more comfortable." The one handling their personal experience was the same waitress from before who had been unilaterally forced into this position by her boss, a position that started of fine but after an incident was filled with more negatives than positives. She couldn’t use her wiles to extract a heavy tip from either of the guests and a single slip up could result in more than a simple pay cut. She remembered vividly the looks of fear plastered across the six high ranking security guards. She was only a half step into the A-rank herself, how could she hope to manage a beast like the Raging Valkyrie by herself.

"We meet again I see, good to see a known face after rushing to and fro throughout the ship." Frost smiled warmly, no longer teasing the young woman instead offering her an olive branch to loosen her nerves. Unfortunately she had already learned before to never let her guard down with this handsome devil thus her mask only hardened in response, refusing to show even the slightest gap.

’Am I really that scary.’ Frost shook his head in dismay, confused at how someone as weak as him could ever pose a threat to a waitress like her.

"Everything seems perfect so far, but I will take another glass of that Andurial red while we wait for the Captain to arrive." Said Khione, her face slightly warping at the mention of the Captain, a reaction the waitress caught on to immediately.

’Looks like their expectations held true.’ The waitress had been informed of some special instructions prior to being given this dangerous task.

Quickly throwing a glance at Frost who sat on the other side of the table the waitress leaned down and whispered something into Khione’s ear, using her skills to make sure he didn’t hear a single word.

Khione’s face went through a range of emotions, confusion, delight, slight panic, embarrassment and then satisfaction.

"Well if that’s the case then it can’t be helped, he’s a busy man after all." Said Khione with a growing smile on her lips, her mood rising to peak levels.

"Thank you for your understanding Princess. The Captain and the security team commander will still try and pop by when they get a chance but joining you and Sir Frost for your meal isn’t an option. We hope you can forgive us for this unforeseen predicament."

"Of course, somethings just can’t be helped after all." Khione and the waitress seemed to be rehearsing a play given how compatible they were with their responses. Frost who was left out of the conversation could therefore extrapolate a few things.

’The Captain must have heard about her little flip out earlier and thus came up with the idea of entertaining us with a solely private dinner.’ From the look on Khione’s face he could see that this move of his was super effective, likely erasing any and all dissatisfaction she held against him.

He was quite keen to dine with the Captain of such a fine vessel, thinking that’d he be a wealth of knowledge he could mine in excess but a private dinner with Khione was a pretty satisfying exchange.

"So it’ll just be me and Khione for tonight’s meal." Frost spoke up, winking his eyes in a flirtatious manner.

"Yes Sir Frost, apologies for any inconvenience." The waitress turned to face him and bowed her head in apology despite knowing full well that this was something Princess Khione actually preferred.

"Oh there’s absolutely no inconvenience on my part, Khione dear?"

"Nope no problems on my end." Khione loudly blurted out without hesitation, unable to control her own excitement.

"There you have it then, no need for any apology....but if you wouldn’t mind adding an extra glass of that Andurial red, my partner here made it look so delicious that I just have to try it myself."
