"Master, we've arrived at the filthy human... Ahem! I mean the wonderful city of Ashtray!"

"Astrea, Griv."

Griv then grumbled and complained about the human cities all looking the same before he climbed down from the carriage and went to pay the entrance tax.

"Well... I'll be damned."

The beautiful out gates of Astrea looked like frozen sculptures, the white metal something rumoured to be from an ancient time when the gods walked among the mortals.

However, Leonhardt didn't buy this and just thought they looked nice.

A curious thought lingered about whether he could steal them for his dungeon.

Zafira sat on the opposite seat while pretending to have no interest, but Leonhardt noticed her peeking out the window at the city several times. Maybe because of their strange relationship, he struggled to speak to her in the same manner. Since that night, it became a sort of ritual for her to handle his demon.

'Ifrit said is she gets a regular intake it will stop her going berserk...'

He didn't trust the origin of fire but couldn't help it.

There were more important things for him to do other than get his wick wet inside a succubus, despite how amazing and pleasant her hand might be.

"Leon, is this the place?" She asked, pretending to be nonchalant.

"Of course it is, Zafi. Isn't it beautiful?"

Leonhardt caught her gazing at him with a faint smile when he called her by a nickname. It was something she asked him to do before letting him shoot directly into her mouth for the first time.

What he didn't notice was the slight furrow of her brow when he called the city beautiful.

[Men!]

(Young men!)

He ignored the two women who liked to remind him about foolish mistakes while hormones and sex dominated his brain.

The moment he climbed from the carriage, the guards protecting the gate frowned at him before spitting on the floor. Because they came from the south, it might seem that they are poor country bumpkins.

However, Leonhardt ignored them and offered a hand to Zafira.

"Your hand, my lady."

Zafira stepped towards the door, forced to crouch because of her height. The exoskeletal boots with huge heels made her taller than Leonhardt. Maybe her sense of competition towards him was because without them, she was smaller.

She watched the ornate runes on the gate with sparkling eyes while taking his hand and gracefully stepping down to the ground, thanks to Leonhardt's body as he twirled her around and placed her beside him.

The guards who spat earlier all looked stunned.

Their eyes focused on the beauty and allure of Zafira, but they noticed that she only had eyes for the man beside her.

After a brief look, she seemed bored with the white gates glowing with elemental magic and instead enjoyed the warmth of Leonhardt's hand squeezing hers.

Because this was the human realm, Zafira used a glamour spell and took the form of an elf, much like Leonhardt. Her horns vanished while her tail coiled around her thigh, and her wings became disguised as her long, puffy feathered dress, which could return to normal in an instant.

"Leon, the city is beautiful but... what about me?"

The pair stepped towards the gate, wearing clean and rather high-class clothes from the dungeon shop.

"Show proof of identity." A guard called out to Leon, but his eyes trailed towards Zafira.

"Here is my identification." He responded in an elegant and clear tone.

Leonhardt produced a high-quality noble ID that he used the dungeon to forge, but because he used the Embervale emblem and name. So the ID wasn't actually a lie and resembled the real thing.

Zafira's eyes focused on her hand, still able to feel Leonhardt's warmth that slowly faded.

She narrowed her eyes while watching him and reached for his hand several times but pulled back at the last moment because of her nerves.

"A noble... the Embervale family? I haven't heard of them, but this is the correct ID." The second guard holding a metal device scanned the identification but nodded to the first, handing the card back. "It checks out—he's someone from the elven continent."

"Well, forgive my rudeness, Lord Embervale."

'Surprising, even though they looked so against me until checking my ID. It seems choosing to be a noble was a smart idea.'

The dungeon seemed to have considered his identity and looks, so now as Count Embervale. He could travel through the kingdom freely without issue. However, that didn't mean he could just act like he wanted—there were dangers, and if checked by the highest tier of machine, it might not work out so simply.

"No problem, you were just doing your duty."

Leonhardt maintained his elegant and polite speech. Then hid the identification inside his inventory before turning to Zafira. "My wife is also permitted, I presume?" At his words, the guards looked like heaven had collapsed when gazing at the two.

"O-Of course, Lord Embervale!"

"Let the Lord of Embervale through!"

Zafira's eyes remained locked onto Leonhardt's hand, her fingertips brushing past his each time he moved, but she couldn't quite time it right. Her chest throbbed as she tried to overcome her nerves.

She felt that struggling with something so simple was pathetic, and it infuriated her.

However, when she saw his smile, no matter if false or true, she understood why everything fell apart from the moment she met him.

"What's the matter, Zafira?" Leonhardt asked as the huge white gates opened slowly with a groaning creak. The heavy doors shook with a deep vibrating hiss, causing a gust of dirt and mist to spread near the entrance.

'It must suck to be a guard...'

"Nn…I-I'm fine."

His question seemed to catch her off guard as she hummed her answer and jerked away from him before noticing how strange her actions might seem.

"Come on, let's go... my dear wife."

Leonhardt showed a cheeky smile, his white teeth glowing in the afternoon sun reflected off the ornate doors. The inside of the city felt like another world to Leonhardt. He watched from the entrance with an open mouth, gasping at how beautiful the city looked. Inspired and jealous, he wanted to improve his dungeon.

He turned to see Zafira's moody and bored expression but noticed the market just ahead of her face and lost focus.

The glowing sigils of various shops shone with different bright and neon colours.

Spell glyphs flickered on the walls.

They offered deals and discounts while flying parchments in the shape of paper planes that delivered messages into mailboxes. It was a magical city full of street vendors selling wares and minor enhancements.

"Leon?" Zafira followed his gaze and realised that Leonhardt had probably never seen anything like this. To her it was common, as the demon empire was the home of all magic and high-level enchantments. "Come on... let's take a look." But she just couldn't bring herself to make fun of him.

Finally, Zafira grabbed Leonhardt's hand, using the excuse of the busy crowds.

"Try not to wander off and die, you foolish weakling."

"Haha, sure... then shall we take a look?"

He didn't mind her words and knew it was just an excuse. A brief silence followed while Leonhardt wrapped her hand tightly, not allowing her to escape. He only replied with a low "Mm," which made her blush.

What made the succubus feel over the moon was the moment their fingers intertwined like a lover, causing her tail to squeeze her inner thigh, almost turning the flesh blue.

"Leon, look at this! It's so funny... Oh my god!"

The moment she put the black glasses on her face, she looked at Leonhardt and froze. "Hmm… I think you don't need to see these." She followed, changing her tone, before purchasing them from the old male vendor.

The glasses showed the viewer something special—they only worked with one person, but they could see through that person's clothes.

A joke item enchanted with the lesser X-Ray magic, higher levels were useful for medicine and healers, but these... normally perverted old men bought them, which made the old man chuckle.

"Eh, you want them, can't I purchase them for you?" Leon tilted his head, noticing her wearing them happily before grasping his hand again.

'Well it's rare she is this happy... who cares.'

"Oh!? Leon, they're making a puppet play with magic!"

Despite her previous moody look, the one enjoying the market most was Zafira. She bought food, strange fruits that tasted like mint, and Leon couldn't deny her when seeing her eyes sparkling in such a dazzling light.

The puppet show seemed to be something interesting as her dress shook, a sign her wings were fluttering, while Zafira herself looked back at Leonhardt several times with a vibrant smile on her face.

"This is a tale from my homeland!"

'Strange... didn't you want to escape that place, or do you actually love it?'

Leonhardt's eyes focused because he didn't know much about Zafira outside of her personality. She became guarded about her past and family.

'I want to learn more...'

Because of this, the pair entered the huge tent, which was showing a play related to something named:

"The Great Demon Purge."
