Dungeon Raider System-Chapter 963: Water warlock’s vlog
Chapter 963: Water warlock’s vlog
"Hello, this is Water warlock’s first Vlog," Water warlock cleared his throat, though the only reason he did it was to gain some time and put his thoughts in order. "the idea of recording one’s thoughts about events or research has drawn my interest for a while, but this is the first opportunity I get to actually do it. I, Water warlock, am very grateful to the future viewers of this for understanding my lack of experience and for taking the time to listen to my thoughts and opinions."
Due to his large size, the only thing that could be seen was Water warlock’s face but after speaking those words he took some distance from the camera revealing the scene. There were artifacts on top of pedestals, marble pillars around, rich decorations and a marvelous ceiling on top. Everything seemed to be the perfect size to fit Water warlock’s size inside of Uriel’s museum which made him look like a regular human. Except for his perfectly fit body and features that were difficult to imagine a human could possess, though instead of uncanny it was pleasant to the eye almost to the point of perfection.
Needless to say, Water warlock always looked good, though the ominous feeling everyone experienced when interacting with him made it hard for the few that had seen him in the past see him as anything but a cosmic threat that reached the level of absurdity. However, through the camera lens he was handsome and charming like imagination could not even picture, though it took him a long while to get ready for his first appearance on camera.
"My journey begins in the distant past, so distant it is impossible to assert exactly when as it would take an extensive investigation on the celestial objects in the night sky to calculate the date and even then, it might be imprecise. It has been affirmed in the recent days that I may be what humanity calls a titan. Whether or not that is correct is out of my knowledge base as in my time such things as titans did not exist.
"I was just Water warlock, one among many inhabitants of what is called the mystical realm. Unfortunately, we did not have a name for our civilization. It was pointless to give us a name as a group as we were always the same people and we knew each other personally. We made great advancements in technology and I myself became the top researcher in technology. I am the maker of dungeons and while I can’t claim to be the one responsible for birthing the spark of life, I set things in motion to create other life forms.
"It is both my greatest contribution to existence and my greatest sin at the same time, but it’s a sin I cannot afford to regret. Back then, I saw my two best friends growing fond of each other in a manner that had never been seen in all of existence. It was a good thing and everyone celebrated their union, but for some reason Is tarted feeling lonely even when we spent time together. Thinking back, nothing really changed, but at the same time nothing could ever be the same.
"Father of many nations and Dearest one, my two friends, came to me with a sincere request. They wanted to create something out of their union and I agreed. I did not know how I felt about it, but I agreed nonetheless because I didn’t have a real reason to refuse. What kind of friend would wish ill upon the dreams of their friends? That’s me, I gave them what they wanted and soon enough new life forms were born, but they were made imperfect on purpose with hunger, lust, anger, flaws that had never existed except within my own heart.
"It was then, that the creatures known as cryptids were born. And even though they were the first beings ever made, they starved and felt the need for things that had yet to be created. That is how humans were eventually made and the war began. Our lives were never at risk, but those of us who had offspring had no choice but to retreat to their dwellings along with their children to protect them from the abominations, but even then... our own children turned against us and I came with the solution.
"To cleanse the earth and seal ourselves waiting for the time to come out. Then everything would have been fine, only I didn’t count with myself being trapped until this age. If not for Uriel Sage, a young man too humble to call himself an archaeologist at the time, this era too would have come to pass with me trapped in the dagger eating my own thoughts. But he came and he released me from my prison, but also from my blindness. And I am honored to call him my friend."
Water warlock made a pause as he closed his eyes, memories of the time he spent sealed in the dagger helplessly watching Uriel make mistake after mistake. At the time it filled him with frustration, but now he considered them to be some of his fondest memories. But then his face shifted in a bitter expression as he remembered how he coerced Uriel into helping him.
"I gifted him with power beyond what any of his contemporaries could have ever wished with the intention to corrupt his soul. Anyone in his stead would have searched for ways to harness this power, I even counted with this in my plan to return to the physical realm, but he would rather spend his days reading books than becoming stronger. It was frustrating, infuriating, I can’t even describe how I felt every time he failed which was most of the time. I can’t deny how annoyed I was that even after waiting for millions of years I would still have to wait some more watching him stumble on the smallest obstacles. But then, I went from annoyance to curiosity and naturally evolved into rooting for him.
"He taught me that failing and learning go by hand and that there is honor in humility."
Water warlock then walked towards the camera and stopped the recording. Despite being a first attempt it was nothing short of perfect thanks to watching Uriel’s many failed attempts which only added to the last words he spoke, though he still replayed it a couple times trying to spot any flaws that simply did not exist. What finally convinced him that he shouldn’t make a do over was that even if there were flaws to be found, which there weren’t, he spoke with his heart and that was more important than the results. Maintaining this line of thought, Water warlock shook his head and decided to make another Vlog, one meant only for Uriel.
"Uriel," He started. "your plan to give up on your body was sound. It would have allowed me to fight your battle in your stead and it would have given me the chance to go back to my people. Your offer is one I would have taken without a second thought in the past, but not anymore. You may still think I betrayed you when I left you and went with Sam, but the reason I did so was because I saw myself in him. He betrayed his friends out of envy, something you must already know. But I watched his struggle first hand and while I can’t tell you what to do, I’ll tell you this. He also learned from his mistakes, so don’t be too hard on him.
"I apologize for doing whatever I wanted and forcing myself into your domain, this museum, but it is a much better solution for all our problems. From here onward, we will never see each other again. Whenever you enter this place I will take over your body, that is how things must be for your physical body to remain intact. I did this selfish thing, but I also did it to give you more time with your friends. Just as you taught me, I learned from my mistakes and I will face them and that will likely mean that whether I succeed or fail, your soul might not be able to take it. It is your decision to let it be known to your friends or keep it a secret, but know this. The time with your friends is limited, so make the most of it."
Water warlock finished his second Vlog and this time he didn’t replay it because it was too painful. After all, Uriel had unwittingly become his best friend in such a short span that was unthinkable for an immortal being as old as Water warlock. The time they got to spend together was so short and he regretted not interacting more honestly with him from the beginning, but what he regretted the most was knowing that he was soon going to take everything from Uriel despite receiving so much from him.
"This is odd..." Uriel muttered as a system notice popped up in his mind informing him that two new Vlogs were produced, yet it also made sense since the notifications appeared just when he existed Chichén Itzá’s barrier and he dismissed it as nothing important.
