Earth's Alpha Prime-395. System Halo Modules
Chapter 395: System Halo Modules
The battle raged on, each clash between the Sentinels and Fiends shaking the very fabric of space. The surroundings twisted and mended repeatedly as if struggling to survive the violence of their power.
The most devastating of all was the duel between Tritos and the Martial Sentinel, Mahoraga.
Each collision between their strikes distorted reality itself.
Where Mahoraga’s fists struck, the space imploded. Where Tritos’s tome opened, space unraveled into twisting ribbons of darkness.
As the duel dragged on, Mahoraga’s frown deepened. His breathing was steady, his strikes powerful, but his instincts told him something was wrong.
Despite the Dream Module integrated into his System Halo, he found himself unable to gain the upper hand.
The System Halo was the cornerstone of every Sentinel’s strength. It was an artifact granted directly by the System, allowing them to install specialized Modules to enhance their combat capability and survival.
The number of modules a Sentinel could install depended on their rank within the Order, with the highest-ranking Sovereigns capable of accommodating up to ten.
Among them, two were considered indispensable: the Revival Module, which ensured resurrection even after death, and the Anti-Regen Module, created specifically to counter the Fiends’ insane bloodline recovery.
But there was another, a rather newer addition that had become mandatory for any mission involving the Fiend Race: the Dream Module, designed to counter Tritos’s infamous soul-binding ability that could drag one’s consciousness into his Dream Realm, leaving their physical body in an vegetative state with no chance of revival.
Even with the Dream Module active, Mahoraga found himself on the back foot.
As one of the top-ranking Sentinels, he had access to the full set of ten module slots within his System Halo, each equipped specifically to counter the Fiends.
But despite all that, the advantage wasn’t his.
Tritos moved with an almost unsettling ease, as if he wasn’t even trying. The longer Mahoraga fought, the more he noticed that calm composure, as though Tritos already knew how the battle would end.
That calmness unsettled Mahoraga, but he had no choice except to press on.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the battlefield, the Blind Sentinel was locked in a desperate struggle of his own. Facing twenty Fiend Sovereigns alone, he relied on his wits and the Temporal Sword Artifact to stay alive.
The Blind Sentinel, Dutan, was a Tier-10 Mid-Phase Sentinel, and half of the enemies before him were High-Phase Fiends.
Even so, he refused to back down. His spatial abilities were heavily suppressed, reduced to only a fraction of their usual power, but he used them cleverly to avoid being surrounded.
Instead of fighting head-on, he targeted the weaker Fiends first, cutting them down one by one.
In addition to his Grade-10 Space Talent, Dutan possessed a Grade 9 Time Talent, using both in combination with his System Halo Modules to keep the battle in his favor for as long as he could. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
The Fiends, however, were terrifyingly diverse in their abilities, each possessing talents that made it impossible for him to counter them all. Even when he switched his Modules to handle one, the others would immediately exploit the gaps in his defenses.
That was when Dutan realized the cunning behind their coordination. This wasn’t a random assault, it was a deliberate strategy. And the only one capable of orchestrating something this intricate was none other than Fiend General Tritos himself.
To make matters worse, each of the Fiend Sovereigns had brought their essence crystals into battle, almost something unheard of. Normally, these were kept safe within their territory, but bringing them here meant they were willing to risk everything.
Despite the overwhelming odds, Dutan managed to slay four Fiend Sovereigns, though he suffered heavy injuries in return.

If this dragged on any longer, he knew he wouldn’t be able to hold out, not unless the Martial Sentinel, Mahoraga, could lend him a hand.
But judging by the state of the battlefield, things weren’t going well on that side either.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Tritos gave a cold, almost amused smile.
“Not so confident now, are you?” he said, his voice carrying hint of mockery.
“It seems you Sentinels have grown far too dependent on that Dream Module lately.”
As he spoke, Tritos raised the ancient tome in his hands. With a flick of his wrist, the pages fluttered open, revealing eerie, shifting symbols that glowed with a sinister light.
“My talent mastery has made some progress recently,” he murmured. “Let’s see how well that Dream Module of yours holds up.”
From the tome, a shadowy force surged outward, twisting through the space like spectral hands reaching for Mahoraga.
The moment it touched him, a cold shiver raced down his spine. He had been confident before, but as that dark power clawed through even the defenses of his Dream Module, he felt a creeping dread settle in.
For such an attack to breach a System Halo Module, there was only one explanation; Tritos had surpassed the Tier-10 limit.
Tier-10 had always been the ultimate ceiling of power across the Universe. Only a handful in recorded history had ever broken through it, so few they could be counted on two hands. And of those, only two were still alive: the Fiend Overlord and the Sentinel Overlord.
The Fiend Overlord embodied the might of a Fiend Bloodline of the highest purity, while the Sentinel Overlord held the System’s Blessing, with its extensive knowledge, power, and resources at his command.
But Tritos? He had neither. No pure bloodline, no System blessing.
All he possessed was a Unique-grade talent, a category known for being nearly impossible to advance past the higher stages of mastery, much less to Tier-10.
Yet against all odds, Tritos had done it. He had reached Tier-10 through sheer will and mastery alone, and now, he had even crossed the limits of the Universe itself.
That realization struck Mahoraga like a hammer and his eyes widened in disbelief.
Meanwhile, all of this unfolded under the astonished eyes of the onlookers from the Ten Hegemonies.
They were witnessing a battle unlike anything they had ever imagined. The Elders, each a powerhouse in their own right, had never seen such overwhelming might. They were forced to shield their younger members from the devastating shockwaves spreading across the battlefield.
Among them, the Martial Zenith Sect watched with bated breath. Unlike the bloodline-based Hegemonies, their power came solely from cultivation and discipline.
Seeing Mahoraga, a fellow pursuer of the martial path, display strength that defied reason expanded their understanding of what true martial mastery could be.
But watching even someone like him struggle against Tritos filled them with dread. The realization hit them hard, if a being like Mahoraga was being pushed back, what chance would they have if the Fiends turned their gaze on them?
And then, it happened.
An ominous voice echoed through space, deep and commanding, resonating from a majestic halo that appeared without warning.
“Young Tritos, it seems you’ve glimpsed what lies beyond. No wonder you can defeat my third disciple.”
The younger members of the Hegemonies froze. None of them recognized the voice, but for someone to call a being like Tritos young, there could only be a handful in existence who dared. It could only be one of the highest members of the Sentinel Order.
The Elders, however, knew exactly who it was, and disbelief spread across their faces in unison.
They had heard tales of Mahoraga’s master, the Sentinel Overlord, but none had ever seen him or even heard his voice. Now, hearing it for the first time was something they would never forget.
The Sentinel Overlord’s words carried an authority that defied comprehension. The mere echo of his voice weighed down on them like an immovable mountain, freezing their movements and shaking their souls.
For a fleeting moment, it felt as if they had returned to their youth, to that first, unforgettable encounter with a Tier-10 being, when they had realized just how vast the gap truly was.
Even as Sovereigns now, they couldn’t help but feel it again. That same crushing truth. That in the grand scale of the Universe, they were still small.
