Chapter 15: A Possessive Blood-bond!100 Origin Credits a Bite!

"It looks like your roommate misunderstood something~" Sylvia said with a playful smile, looking down at Caelus.

"Is he the type to spread rumors?"

"No." Caelus shook his head. "He won’t do such a thing."

"That is good then." Sylvia beamed, her expression radiant.

"I didn’t know this world had vampires," Caelus said with a deadpan look on his face.

"Well, I was an ordinary human like you before the new servers for the Origin Ascension Domain opened." Sylvia chuckled softly. "I awakened a powerful talent, you see. As a result, my race also changed."

"I turned into a True Vampire," Sylvia added, her eyes glowing faintly.

"There is stuff like that?" Caelus was genuinely surprised.

Racial evolution from a talent? He hadn’t heard about this before. Was this a new type of talent the Network had cooked up?

But whatever the case, the girl sitting on his lap was a vampire. When she smiled, he clearly saw two sharp, delicate fangs in her mouth.

However, they didn’t look out of place. It was as if she had been born with them. They only added to her allure.

"I got a Blood Manipulation skill. What is that about?" Caelus inquired.

"It is a gift," Sylvia replied with visible surprise on her face. "When a vampire forms a blood-bond with someone, the partner usually receives either a physical enhancement or a special skill. But the chances of the latter are much lower than the former. I didn’t expect you to awaken Blood Manipulation."

"Damn I should’ve gotten a physical enhancement instead." Caelus clicked his tongue as he checked the skill.

[Skill: Blood Manipulation (Common, 1-star) - You can use your own blood to pierce and attack enemies or use 25 Mana Points per use to activate the skill.]

"Anyways, besides that, what is a blood-bond?" Caelus inquired as he stared at the beauty in front of him.

"A blood-bond is a pact formed between a vampire and someone of another race. Once that bond is formed, it cannot be broken. It means the vampire cannot drink from another source, or they will face a severe backlash. A vampire needs blood to stabilize themselves, or they will lose control of their power over time. I was trying my best to control it until I reached the dorms, but I couldn’t stabilize myself anymore and pounced on you. I am sorry, Classmate Caelus."

"What?! You cannot drink other people’s blood now?" Caelus almost jumped in fright.

He tried to move, but Sylvia was far too powerful for him to dislodge.

"That is right." Sylvia looked at Caelus with a wide, enchanting smile. "Classmate Caelus, I will be coming to meet you daily. You do not want to see me going rogue in the streets, right? Once the blood craving hits, I won’t be able to control myself."

"Out of a hundred men in this dormitory, why did you have to pick me?" Caelus’s lips twitched in annoyance. "You should have chosen someone with a higher Mana Affinity rank at least."

"I did not have the luxury of time to be picky," Sylvia replied without missing a beat, her fingers tracing his collarbone. "But Classmate Caelus, you are now my bond. My partner. Without you, I will lose my mind."

"..." Caelus’s expression darkened.

Fck. Why does everything she say sound like a confession?

"I won’t do it for free," Caelus said after a moment of calculation. "I am not running a charity, after all."

Sylvia looked dumbfounded for a moment. Then, she chuckled softly, her hand still massaging the area that she had bit.

"How about this? Whenever I take your blood, I will give you a kiss, hug you tight, and call you a ’good boy’?"

"..." Caelus’s expression immediately darkened further.

Sylvia was clearly amused by Caelus’s reaction.

"Fine, I won’t tease my partner too much. What do you want from me? Would you like me to become your little housewife and take care of your needs?"

"I need money. You need to pay up for my blood." Caelus ignored her attempt to fluster him and went straight to the point.

"Money?" Sylvia blinked in surprise.

"That is right. 100 Origin Credits for each blood donation."

Sylvia almost choked on the blood she had just ingested.

"You... Even blood banks only pay 5 Origin Credits for a pack of blood!"

Caelus shrugged. "This is the fee for emotional trauma and distress. Plus, you marked my neck. Now I won’t be able to get close to the love of my life. She will think I was cheating on her."

However, the instant Caelus said those words, the atmosphere in the room froze.

Sylvia’s eyes abruptly turned hollow.

Her crimson pupils stared at Caelus with a chilling, detached intensity that felt completely out of place on her beautiful face.

"Huh? What happened?" Caelus tilted his head, noticing the sudden shift.

"You have a love of your life?" Sylvia slowly parted her lips. Her voice was devoid of emotion, and a faint, menacing red aura began to leak from her body.

"No?" Caelus was dumbfounded.

"I just said that as a joke. Calm down."

"Are you sure? It is Lena that woman, isn’t it?" Sylvia’s expression remained terrifyingly blank.

"No." Caelus shook his head firmly. "I am not some worthless dog that chases after a pile of trash."

Hearing this, the darkness vanished from Sylvia’s face instantly. She chuckled softly, the warmth returning to her eyes.

"I was just teasing you," Sylvia said, a playful smirk forming on her lips.

"You fell for it, Classmate Caelus." She beamed at him.

"Yeah, whatever. So are you going to give me the Origin Credits or not?".

"I will give you the 100 Origin Credits." Sylvia nodded happily.

As she spoke, she pulled out her phone. A look of surprise crossed her face.

"Look, Classmate Caelus. It is almost 9:00 AM."

"So?" Caelus tilted his head.

"It was precisely at 9:00 AM when the Origin Network descended onto this world 250 years ago. This marks the 251st year."

"Interesting," Caelus commented.

The Domain used to open in the mornings back then, but it eventually shifted to the night cycle to fix the sleep schedules of humans on the Azure Origin Planet.

However, just as that thought crossed his mind, the system interface abruptly forced itself open.

It wasn’t just him. Sylvia seemed to have received it as well.
