Endless Horde: Through the Eyes of a Godking-Chapter 898: Origin Soul Law
--
Once again, the presence of a newly ascended supreme lifeform shocked the whole chaos realm.
Not everybody felt it, of course. Only a handful of people sensed it happening; even fewer were those who had seen the whole thing happen. Nevertheless, the shock wasn’t mitigated at all.
It hasn’t even been long since Nicholas was discovered to have ascended to the Primal Origin Lifeform Realm, yet here’s another one. This time, it was Patricia.
The woman who just achieved this could feel all of this.
Her perception covered the whole chaos realm very easily. She sees, hears, and feels everything within without feeling overwhelmed. Her mind just naturally processed and filtered information according to her needs instinctively. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
She felt Nick’s presence appear nearby the moment she started her breakthrough. Of course, he brought Reina with him. The rest of her friends were also here and were waiting beside the couple.
Even after her breakthrough, they didn’t approach. Nick stopped them. She heard him say, ’Let her enjoy this moment because it’ll never happen again.’
And she appreciated that the others respected it.
Nick was right. Everything that Patricia’s feeling right now is so profound that she finds it difficult to express it in words.
The feeling that she sits above everything, that she stands at the very peak of existence, that nothing could escape her eyes and her senses...it’s surreal.
But what really got her was the profound sensation of freedom she felt.
It was, indeed, just how Nick said it to be. Inexplicable.
How should she even begin to explain this?
It’s like everything was the way it was because she allowed it to be. She could create something just as easily as she could destroy it. She could rewrite history with nothing but a single thought, and nobody would be able to stop her or even know that she did it.
She could simply say that the sky was violet, and everyone will start to believe that it was and has always been violet.
Nothing could restrain her; the Supreme Will couldn’t and wouldn’t anymore. She was free to do anything she pleased. Reality, as everybody knows it, was nothing but a mere story draft she could freely edit if she wanted to.
The most profound changes were on her ability to wield the Origin Soul Law.
Previously, even though she was already recognized by the origin source law, Patricia still felt like origin laws were way beyond her grasp. Sure, she could manipulate, use, and manifest it as easily as moving her hand after gaining its acknowledgement, but whenever she did, she always felt like she was using something way beyond her understanding and that she had to be very careful because she could seriously mess up and ruin things permanently even though, technically, everything should be under her conscious control.
Now, though? That feeling was gone.
Using the Origin Soul Law feels natural to her. It’s like she was born possessing its abilities.
In her ascended state now, she could fully utilize the might of this origin law without any fear of messing up. She knew that anything she didn’t want to happen wouldn’t happen unless she actually meant for it to happen.
She could just release her intentions, and the universe will bend over backwards just to adjust itself according to her wishes.
With the Origin Soul Law thrumming under her skin, she could feel every soul around her. With just a single thought, she could see and read a soul’s history. She would see the soul’s state, its age, its story, and its ending.
She could cure souls as easily as she could pinch them to death; she could wipe them out of existence, and the universe wouldn’t blame her for it. She could rewrite a soul’s destiny, even. She could combine them, extract and/or pluck them from their vessels, make them immortal, make them vulnerable, suspend them indefinitely, turn them into the purest and most incorruptible soul force, etc.
Anything a soul could do, could be, and should be, Patricia decides it. There is no authority greater than hers when it comes to this...until, of course, somebody else also gains the acknowledgement of the Origin Soul Law.
This, and so, so much more, was the kind of freedom and power Patricia now wields freely. Nick was also the same, of course.
"Gee, Nick was right. This is incredible," she muttered beneath her breath.
Then, with another deep breath, she began expanding her senses. Quietly and invisible, her network expanded. It spread out to the Heavenly Star Chaos Realm, quietly expanding until soon it covered the entirety of the Five Known Chaos Realms.
She was able to see them with incredible clarity, something that she previously couldn’t do.
Patricia could see the living beings, or lack thereof, on other chaotic realms. Hell, she could even directly see what the Bug Empress was doing right now without her sensing something amiss. The protections around her were rendered inane and useless against Patricia’s scanning.
The Horde, once upon a time a great enemy of humanity and source of their despair, was nothing more than a nuisance right now. Patricia alone could swipe her hand and render them extinct, depriving them all of their souls with but a single thought from her.
But as tempting as that was to do, she held herself back. She wouldn’t do this without informing others; they deserve to know what happens to the Horde as much as she does.
Patricia didn’t stop here. She recalled what Nick sensed back then, and she’d admit that she too was curious.
She expanded her sensory range, straining herself to the limits. As a result, her range extended farther than ever until she was met with a wall that prevented her probes from getting any further.
That’s it, that’s the same wall that Nick felt back then. She could briefly sense something in there. She could see a landmass. It was huge and impenetrable.
She felt a vague sense of threat that if she pushed her luck, whoever controls this place will punish her seriously for her transgressions. And for that to make her feel this way, she, who had just ascended to the peak of existence recently, was something that she simply couldn’t ignore.
But like Nick, she wouldn’t pursue it for now.
She’s not reckless enough to stake her life out just to bring back information. Hell, she hadn’t even warmed up her new seat as the new Primal Origin Lifeform!
Patricia knew that this was the Lost Continent that she saw. And apparently, according to that mysterious ’CS’—the same guy who left a note to them in the Black Pegasus Chaos Realm—within this lost continent was also the Origin Heaven Continent.
As curious as she was to learn more about that place, she knew that this wasn’t the time for it. So, she could only let it rest for now. She also didn’t want to offend whoever controls that land because she might get hurt.
Patricia reeled her senses back and maintained it just enough to cover the whole Heavenly Star Chaos Realm. She could do this without feeling any strain at all; she doesn’t even need to make an effort, actually.
"Congratulations, Patty!"
Patricia was returned to reality by the expressive and jubilant words of Reina, who rushed at her.
"Thank you, Riri," Patricia chuckled.
Of course, Nick and the rest weren’t far behind her.
While she was here, Patricia took advantage and inspected Reina’s soul just in case she had missed something before. Her skills in soul laws now stood at the absolute peak of concept laws now that she had become a primal origin lifeform. So, it’d be easier for her to detect if they missed something with Reina’s resurrection.
Fortunately, though. Everything was alright.
Reina’s soul settled and fused perfectly with her new body. Reina’s own satisfaction with this new body of hers also greatly helped with that fusion, by the way.
Patricia hadn’t seen any risks nor felt any need to repair Reina’s soul since it’s in its perfect condition. She could even see the numerous contingencies and protections that Nick left behind to protect her soul.
There are too many of them, actually. At least, if you ask her. But this makes it very clear that Nick wasn’t playing around with Reina’s safety.
’And they call Reina paranoid.’ Patricia chuckled inwardly.
Of course, Patricia also left her own protections with her, but it’s not as visible and as punishing as Nick’s. Patricia’s protection was more geared to saving Reina’s soul and preserving it until Patricia arrived to do the actual saving.
Nick’s doesn’t just protect; it punishes whoever dares to make an attempt at Reina’s life. And he’s particularly cruel about it too.
To say that Reina just became the most favored and most protected living being within the Five Known Chaos Realms wouldn’t be an understatement.
Unlike with Nick, the others didn’t berate her for making a breakthrough without warning them.
At this point, they understood that when the moment arrives, action must come next. They couldn’t miss the chance, wasting the moment just to inform the rest, because that moment won’t last.
So, they’re just happy that Patricia made it. And with her around, humanity now has two Primal Origin Lifeforms.
It’d be very interesting to see where they’d go from here next.
