Entangled in the Night: Unable to Escape Him-Chapter 107: Five Years Ago, She Framed Chloe Nash
The situation has come to this point, she couldn’t possibly not see the result.
So what if Jett blames her? Seeing Chloe Nash’s reputation ruined is the most satisfying thing of all.
Without waiting for Jett to react, she directly opened the door.
She was the first to rush in, unable to suppress the excitement on her face.
"Chloe, how are you? We’ve all been so worried about you."
When she saw clothes thrown all over the floor and used condoms, she became even more excited.
She immediately went forward to lift the quilt.
But what she didn’t expect was that under the quilt wasn’t Chloe, but the waitress.
And four men.
Kate Winslow was somewhat incredulous, "Why is it you?"
The waitress cried as she said, "I, I was set up, Miss Winslow, you have to stand up for me, I was ruined for you, they all bullied me."
Upon hearing these words, Kate was so scared that she kept backing away.
In disbelief, she asked, "Where is Chloe?"
As soon as her voice fell, a cool voice came from behind her: "Miss Winslow, are you looking for me?"
Hearing this voice, Kate turned around abruptly and saw Chloe, fully dressed, standing at the door.
She stared in disbelief, wide-eyed.
How could it be!
She had arranged everything, even got someone to keep Jett occupied. How could Chloe escape her trap?
With a smile, Chloe walked up to Kate and casually asked, "Miss Winslow, looking for me so early in the morning, is there something you need?"
Angrily clenching her fists, Kate pointed at Chloe and asked, "Was it you who framed her like this?"
Chloe glanced at the waitress, a slight smile playing on her lips, "Do you have evidence?"
"I clearly..."
She wanted to say that she had clearly framed Chloe, how did it end up being the waitress?
Seeing her stop halfway, Chloe coldly questioned, "Clearly what? Clearly the one lying in bed should have been me, right?"
As soon as her voice fell, a ’slap’ echoed, and a palm landed on Kate’s face.
Chloe’s voice was cold to the extreme: "Kate Winslow, this slap is for drugging me and trying to get someone to ruin me. If I hadn’t found out in time, I would’ve been the headline today."
Kate’s cheek stung from the slap, and she glared at Chloe furiously: "Chloe, how dare you hit me! I’ll tear your mouth apart."
She was about to lunge forward, but her wrist was quickly grabbed by Jett.
The man’s expression was fierce: "Kate Winslow, just try touching her again."
Seeing how protective he was of Chloe, Kate nearly exploded in rage.
With tears in her eyes, she looked at Jett pitifully: "Jett, didn’t you see her hit me?"
Jett lightly hummed, "I saw it. Wasn’t it deserved? Do you dare to scheme against Chloe, who gave you the courage?"
Kate expressed disbelief: "Jett, is there really no affection between us at all? You’re so biased towards Chloe."
"If we’re talking about affection, the only connection we’ve ever had was the business relationship between our families, nothing more."
"So you’ve never liked me?"
"Not for a single second."
Those words stung Kate’s chest like a knife.
Jett never liked her, not even for a single second.
They had grown up together, after all.
Seething with rage, she clenched her teeth, "Chloe, it’s all your fault. If you hadn’t interfered, Jett would have liked me. If you hadn’t taken him five years ago, we would’ve been married by now, and I would’ve driven you away. Why did you have to come back? Why couldn’t you just die out there?"
Kate was on the verge of madness.
She couldn’t accept that Jett had never had feelings for her.
Nor could she accept that Jett still loved Chloe deeply.
Upon hearing her words, Chloe clenched her fist tightly and coldly questioned: "So, five years ago you forged those photos of me and Professor Sawyer, forcing the Sterlings to make me leave Jett, right?"
Kate started laughing maniacally, "Yes, that’s right. I took those photos to Uncle Sterling, telling him how improper you were, how you slept with your professor for a chance to study abroad.
The Sterling Family valued reputation above all else. Uncle Sterling would never accept someone like you as a Sterling daughter-in-law, so he pushed you to leave.
I never expected you to return five years later, still clinging to Jett. Chloe, what right do you have to make Jett love you so devotedly? He was supposed to be mine."
Those words were like a thunderbolt striking Jett.
So the real culprit behind Chloe’s forced departure was Kate Winslow.
He seized Kate by her throat, his eyes bloodshot with fury: "Who gave you the courage to do this, Kate Winslow? You’re courting death!"
Kate struggled for breath, feeling like her neck was about to snap.
She desperately signaled to the police for help, hoping they would save her.
But a policeman just shook his head and said, "This is your private matter, you resolve it yourselves. We need to take these people back to the station."
With that, they left with the group.
Kate, choking for air, hurriedly pleaded, "Jett, listen to me, I wasn’t the mastermind, it was Mrs. Sterling who told me to do it. She said that only by driving Chloe away could you be with me."
Hearing this, Jett let go of Kate.
The veins in his forehead throbbed violently.
From his throat emerged a chilling voice, "Claire Channing!"
Kate gasped for air, "Yes, it was her. She seemed very against Chloe being with you. Uncle Sterling was initially indifferent, but after seeing the photos, he agreed to let Claire Channing push Chloe away. It wasn’t my idea; it was hers all along."
Jett’s rage caused his fists to clench tightly, veins bulging on the back of his hand.
Claire Channing, his stepmother, who always tried to please him since he was a child, why did she go to such lengths to drive Chloe away?
If not for her, Chloe wouldn’t have become a battlefield doctor and wouldn’t have lost her life there.
Thinking of this, Jett felt a sharp pain in his chest.
He took out his phone and called his assistant: "Sever all ties between the Sterling Family and the Winslow Family, investigate everything Claire Channing has done, I want her gone."
She caused Chloe’s death in a war zone, he would never forgive her.
Hearing Jett’s words, Kate dismissed them: "Jett, Uncle Sterling won’t agree to you doing this. Our families’ businesses are intricately linked; severing cooperation would mean mutual destruction. Are you really willing to risk damage to the Sterlings for Chloe?"
Jett coldly sneered, "Without the Winslows, do you think the Sterlings would perish?"
"You can go ahead and break ties, see how Uncle Sterling will punish you."
The Winslow and Sterling Families have been allies for generations, their business intertwined deeply, their personal bonds equally strong. She didn’t believe Jett, just newly established as family head, could achieve this.
At that moment, a pleasant, clear voice came from the door.
"What if the Prescott Family also severed ties with the Winslows? What do you think would happen?"
