Entangled in the Night: Unable to Escape Him-Chapter 157: Let Me Love You Once Before I Die
Silas Prescott’s kiss was laced with the aggression of revenge and the longing accumulated over years.
He held Sienna’s head, stealing her breath again and again, devouring everything she was.
He and Sienna were finally facing each other as their true selves; from now on, he could kiss her and love her as much as he wanted.
They would finally become Julian Prescott’s real father and mother.
The three of them would live happily together as a family.
Thinking about this, Silas’s kisses gradually softened, becoming tangled with tenderness, coaxing Sienna to lower her defenses and respond to his kiss at last.
Feeling her response, the emotions Silas had buried for years finally burst free.
His large hand traced down along Sienna’s waistline, slowly moving lower.
Sienna, already made weak and tingling all over by the kiss, felt his hand’s movement and stiffened in shock, quickly pushing him away.
She glared at him with watery eyes and said, "Silas, don’t push your luck."
Silas leaned to her ear, his voice husky, "Sienna, my sweetheart says she missed me."
With that one line, Sienna’s cheeks flushed even hotter.
She bit her lip angrily, "If you won’t go get your shots, and you get rabies, I’m not going to take care of you."
Watching her shy, embarrassed look, Silas felt as if he’d traveled back five years.
Sienna was just like this back then, blushing with just a touch.
Every time she called out his name, it drove him wild.
Thinking back, Silas grinned, a wicked curve to his mouth. "Fine, I’ll get the shots first. When I come back, I’ll ’deal with you.’"
The two of them went first to the clinic to get vaccinated.
Then they took the kitten to a pet shelter.
On the way back, Sienna stopped to buy groceries and left her phone in the basket. Just then, Albie Kane called.
Seeing that name, thinking about that man, Silas felt a complicated surge of emotions.
He was grateful that Albie had looked after Sienna abroad, but he also resented how he’d called Sienna his wife right in front of him.
God knows, during the few days Albie was back, Silas waited downstairs at Sienna’s place every night.
He’d watch her lights go out and torture himself with thoughts of Sienna and Albie tangled together—back then, it nearly drove him mad.
But since he wasn’t yet certain Sienna was really Sienna, there was nothing he could do.
All he could do was smoke, trying to dull the misery in his chest.
Thinking of all that, Silas’s lips curled into a cold, thin smile.
He answered the call directly, and Albie’s gentle voice came through on the other end.
"Chloe, I’ve settled everything with Mom and Dad, so there’s nothing for you to worry about. Stay there and keep to yourself, don’t go where there are crowds—I’m afraid Silas might find you."
Silas’s voice turned cold: "Do you really think hiding her here means I won’t find her?"
Hearing his voice, Albie instantly tensed up.
He hurriedly asked, "Silas—why is it you? Where’s Chloe?"
Silas laughed softly. "Sorry, Chloe’s not here, only Sienna. If you’re looking for Chloe, you’ll have to check in heaven."
That one line made Albie’s breath hitch with fear.
Silas not only recognized that Sienna was Sienna, he’d also found her.
Gripping his phone tight, Albie tried to steady his emotions as he said, "Silas, what did you do to Chloe? If you hurt her, I’ll never forgive you."
Silas snorted. "And what right do you have to talk to me like that? Chloe’s fake husband? I haven’t even dealt with you yet, and here you are. How many times did you call her ’wife’ in front of me? Maybe I should throw the same number of punches at your face.
Albie, remember this—she’s my Sienna. If you dare get close to her again, I can’t say what I might do."
Albie’s voice was more desperate than ever: "Silas, what did you do to Chloe!"
He knew the things Silas had done to Sienna in the past, and if she really fell into his hands again, he couldn’t imagine the consequences.
Chloe was completely unfamiliar with everything there; there wasn’t a single person she could reach out to. What was she supposed to do?
Thinking of all this, Albie was desperate to fly straight to Chloe’s side.
The more frantic he became, the more elated Silas grew.
"What do you think I’d do to her? I’ve searched for five years and finally found her—obviously I’m locking her in a room and giving her the punishment she deserves."
His tone was steady, but there was a calm madness lurking in his words.
The sound of it sent a chill down Albie’s spine.
He tried hard to keep his voice steady. "Silas, please, just let me talk to Chloe. I’m begging you."
He needed to make sure Chloe was safe—so he could plan a rescue.
Silas drawled, "You want to talk to her, huh? Ask again tomorrow. Right now, we have important business to attend to."
With that, he hung up the phone.
And deleted the call log.
They had joined forces to take Sienna away, leaving him frantic and helpless.
Now, he’d let them get a taste of their own medicine.
Silas blocked both Jett Sterling and Caden Sinclair’s numbers, so none of them could reach Sienna.
After realizing the call wouldn’t go through, Albie tried again and again, but always got nothing.
He knew then—Silas had blocked his number.
At once, he called Caden Sinclair.
"Caden, Chloe’s been found by Silas."
The news made Caden’s heart clench. "How’s that possible? I checked everything—there was no tracker on Chloe. How could Silas have found her so quickly?"
"I don’t know. I just called and Silas answered. I’m worried he’s locked her up somewhere."
Caden immediately sprang to his feet. "That lunatic would never let Sienna go. I’m going now to save her."
"I’ll bring people and head over right away."
The two quickly agreed on a time and rushed to the airport.
Jett Sterling got word too and immediately caught a flight over.
Oblivious to all this, Sienna came home from grocery shopping, just about to head to the kitchen to cook.
Silas suddenly hugged her from behind, his chin pressing down on her shoulder.
His hot breath brushed against the nape of her neck.
His voice was rough and a little hoarse. "Sienna, I think I have a fever."
Sienna quickly reached out to touch his forehead, feeling the heat in her palm.
She said, "Go wait in the bedroom. I’ll get you some fever medicine."
Silas slumped weakly against her. "Maybe I’ve got rabies—I’m going to die soon. Sienna, before I go, can you let me love you just once?"
