KNOCK! KNOCK!

Rudy was taking a bath when he heard the knock on the door.

"Rudy, Eric has called three times now. Hurry up!" Rebecca said from the other side of the door. "I am placing your phone in the basket!"

Rudy was lost in his thoughts and didn't hear what Rebecca had said.

'I killed five people, but I don't feel anything. Yes, I wanted to kill them but... I have never killed anyone before. I...' Rudy raised his hand up to his face and muttered," I killed Paul but that was... by mistake. Nonetheless, should I feel bad for killing the five officials? They were corrupt, and they misused their powers. They deserve death... but... who am I to punish them?

If I use my powers to exterminate evil, what will I gain? Sure, the world will become a better place, but evilness is like rust. It never goes away, no matter how hard you try to get rid of it."

Rudy was self conscious about his actions, but that would not change his fate or destiny. Even against his wishes, his powers would have made him do what he had done. It was better to do it willingly rather than against his wills.

Once Rudy was done, he left the bathroom and picked up his ringing phone.

"Hey," he answered.

[Dude, what the fuck? I have been calling you for the last ten minutes. What were you doing?!] Eric yelled.

"I was bathing. Unlike you, I care about smelling good," Rudy commented with a chuckle.

[I finished showering as soon as I got home! What were you doing all this time?]

"I was having--"

[Oh, leave it. I don't want any explanation. Be ready in ten minutes. I am coming to pick you up.]

"Okay. But ring me up when you leave your house so I can inform mom."

[Yeah, you are not gonna pick it up. I know.]

"I told you to ring me up. Of course, I am not gonna pick it up."

[What is your---] Eric suddenly stopped and Rudy heard a muffled voice in the background.

"Eric?"

[I will call you later. Someone is at my house.]

"What do you mean?" Rudy asked with a concerned look on his face. "Do you mean inside your house?"

[No. My powers simply sensed something near my house. I will go check it.]

"Will you be okay?"

[Don't forget you are talking to one of the strongest heroes in this country. Nothing can harm me.] After saying that, Eric hung up the call, leaving Rudy curious.

SIGH!

Rudy wiped his hair and muttered, "Well, he should be okay. I have seen him fighting in the clips posted by his fans on his fan pages."

While wearing his clothes, Rudy thought, 'Damn, I am friends with a celebrity at this point. Should I be feeling proud or something?'

About five minutes later, Eric sent a text to Rudy that said, [I am on my way.]

"..." Rudy grinned after seeing his text and shook his head with a smile on his face.

He told Eric to ring him, but instead he sent a text.

"Mom! Are you ready?! Eric is on his way to pick us up!" Rudy asked in a loud voice, making sure she could hear it from anywhere in the house.

"Talk about yourself." Rebecca came out of her room, fixing her earrings. She looked at Rudy from head to toe and said, "Go comb your hair."

"Nah, they look better this way." He said while messing up his hair even more as he looked into the mirror.

"How do I look?" Rebecca suddenly asked.

Rudy was taken completely off guard by that question. His mind was unable to comprehend how to respond to that. Still, he looked at Rebecca.

He looked and looked. He looked a lot. Checking out everything.

Rebecca was stunning in her red dress, having gone out of her way to look attractive to Rudy. The red dress clung to her body in all the right places, making her elegant and sexy. It had thin straps and a kind of shimmer that caught the light with every move, adding some sort of magic to her appearance.

Long and dark, her hair had been set in soft waves that descended to her back, framing her face beautifully. Wearing her hair loose, she let it fall over her shoulders, allowing it to flow loosely with a sense of natural elegance attached to it. Her lips were painted in a striking red, just like her dress, to give her an extra pop when she would smile. That red lipstick accentuated even more her confidence and playful spirit, making her a real charmer.

What Rebecca wore and how she looked was chosen with great deliberation, which would create a lasting impression. She was confident and beautiful in radiating the aura that Rudy would surely notice.

Rudy was at a loss at his words. What was he supposed to say? How could he describe such a beauty? If he said his honest words, Rebecca would creep out. Because of the recent incident, he had begun seeing Rebecca as a woman rather than his mother.

Rebecca looked so stunning that Rudy had gotten a boner and he was hiding it with the help of the towel.

"I asked you something." Rebecca swirled around, her hair flowing in motion and bringing him back to his senses.

"Umm." Rudy gulped down as he struggled to find the right words to describe her. He didn't want to say something so mundane as, 'You look beautiful.'

Rudy knew that Rebecca had put so much effort into getting ready, and it was a rare event where Rebecca would take care of her appearance. He didn't want to disappoint her with his half-assed response.

"I think—" Before Rudy could finish, a loud honking sound interrupted it, followed by his phone ringing.

It was Eric, and he had come to pick them up.

"Umm…" Rudy pointed his thumb at the door and stammered as he spoke, "Eric… is here."

Rebecca looked a bit disappointed, but she brushed it off with a sigh.

"You go ahead. I will lock the back door and be right there in a minute," she said to him.

"Okay."

Rebecca placed her hand on her chest and muttered to herself, 'I didn't expect much from him, but… I am happy I got him to stare at me for so long.'
