After the brief spark between Kiera and Mordica had been quenched, Hazel continued smoothly.

She bluntly stated that the academic performance of Class-E was very poor, evident from their lack of enthusiasm or focus towards their studies.

"Then how about we hold study sessions? It should be enough to help us, right?"

Ysabella suggested, gaining Hazel’s approval.

"That’s right. It’s the only solution available for us at this moment." Hazel nodded. "Those with lower academic performance can be grouped together and tutored by the smarter students within the class."

Kim’s eyes twitched, feeling an irritating prick in her chest. Before she could speak, Ariel gave a timely reminder.

"Do remember that scoring below fifty marks in mathematics, combat training, and history would definitely result in expulsion."

"Ugh..."

Some students winced, reminded of that critical detail. It was part of the information they’d bought through Liam from that mysterious student.

Hazel gladly appreciated the reminder. "Astron, Liam, Ysabella, and I would do our best to give lessons on those three subjects most importantly."

Liam agreed. "We’ll be having a little meeting after class to decide when to fix these lessons. I presume everyone agrees right?"

No one objected, signifying the end of the discussion.

Hazel returned to her seat, sandwiched between two boys with strange personalities.

"You have no interest, right?"

She turned to Kaiser, already predicting his opinion of the study lessons.

A neutral smile crossed his face, and he paused reading. "I can see that you’re finally understanding me."

She shook her head, dissatisfied. "Understanding you doesn’t mean I like your attitude. It’s still so annoying and irritating."

"Annoying and irritating..." Kaiser pondered, "It has been a while I have been referred to with those adjectives."

Back in the clan, some juniors had also called him annoying, but eventually grew bored of it when he was irresponsive to their criticisms.

"Let me ask you a question, Kaiser." Hazel turned to face him. "What is your purpose in coming to this academy?"

Kaiser didn’t react immediately. The question felt familiar, like what Chairman Jonathan had asked him on the first day of enrollment.

He had answered the man because he was quite dignified and a little interesting. If it was someone who was utterly ’boring’, he’d make no effort to answer.

Now that Hazel had asked... to he girl wasn’t anything special—not in the slightest. However, she was seated next to him, and they occasionally exchanged small talks.

’Even though she currently lacks the tendency to gain a color, she’s at least intelligent enough to be amusing.’

He gave her a glance, then spoke casually. "I did not come to this academy because of the Hunter Guild-employment guarantee."

His blue eyes barely held a hint of emotion... bordering nothing.

"I am merely here to add some spice to this colorless life of mine."

Hazel listened to him attentively, her brows furrowed.

’Add spice to his colorless life...’

She seared those words into her memory, like she might glimpse something from them if she concentrated better. Even then, she already understood why Kaiser was entirely unconcerned about whatever was happening within the academy.

Without waiting for her to say something, Kaiser stood up and left the class. There was still some time left before the next class, and he had somethings he needed to collect.

Kaiser met her at the cafeteria again. This time, no one was around her. Sporting her usual coy smile, the girl looked eye-catching with her long lilac hair and purple eyes.

"Oh, it’s good to see you, Kaiser!"

She beamed, waving at him to come over. Kaiser approached with an apathetic expression, then took a seat opposite her.

While she had her table empty, he quietly ordered something quick to devour while they talked.

"Congratulations on your demotion to Class-B, Adela." He said plainly.

Another person might have misunderstood it as sarcasm, but Adela knew the comment was genuine. This was because she was joyful. Her wish; demoting her class to Class-B, had been achieved. So it wasn’t wrong at all when he congratulated her.

"Thank you, Kaiser." She bowed gracefully. "I just didn’t expect you to be this devious. You made the defeat look so natural that I was almost deceived."

Kaiser ate a spoon of his ice cream, his expression unchanged. "Be more precise."

Adela’s eyes curved, "It all started from Little Mina’s mistake, right? Sending Tamara as a spy—that was her blunder. She thought she was isolating one of my pieces and reducing my influence."

She laughed loudly.

"Such a cute attempt. Unfortunately, she only sent my poor piece into the dragon’s maw."

Slowly, her expression became focused. "You didn’t even want to waste any energy, did you? You used the Awakened Fiend to pressure Liam into alerting your Instructor who caught her. Isn’t that devious of you? I’m appalled."

Kaiser calmly finished the ice cream, his pace unhurried. Adela didn’t interrupt him until he finished.

He wiped the corner of his lips with a tissue, then looked at her.

"You deduced all that... not bad."

Indeed, he had simply used the most efficient and least stressful method to bring down the former Class-A. Just as Adela had said, Mina’s mistake of sending Tamara into their dungeon only created an opportunity for him.

The appearance of the Abyssal Terror was truly unexpected.

’If he had fought personally...’ He took another bite of the ice cream.

There was a reason why he claimed he’d be risking his life.

However, all these simulations were under the condition that he didn’t have a Shadow he could use to fight the creature. Kara’s existence as a Shadow was an anomaly, something unheard of even in the Solace Clan’s detailed history.

And with her stats perfectly matching the Fiend, he had no reason to be emotionally disturbed or unstable.

Adela deductions were accurate, even though she wasn’t present physically. Perhaps she had some people in Class-E who fed her information, but it didn’t change the fact that she was truly intellectual.

"I am satisfied with this result, Kaiser. Really." Her smile was small but warm, "I’ll honor our agreement and give you the credits I promised."

Operating her phone, she transferred a total sum of 800,000 credits to him. Kaiser checked the notification, then pocketed his phone.

He took a sip from the bottle water, then stood up.

As he turned his back to Adela, she spoke with a menacing smile.

"Forgive me Kaiser, but I’ve come to grow more interested in you. In the future, you might face sporadic attacks from me."

Without turning back, the boy tilted his head innocently. "Eh? Is that so...?"

Shrugging, he waved casually. "It’s fine. I just hope you don’t get too annoying. I hate annoying things."
