Eternal Freedom's Ascension-Chapter 82: Apollo’s Probe
"Nasty kids, stay back."
Before Hazel got to him, Apollo sneered at those who were about to leave the class. Although only slightly, the purple-haired boy’s figure and reputation intimidated them.
"What the heck are you doing in front of our class, Apollo?"
Hazel growled, her glare as sharp as daggers.
Unfazed, Apollo gave a taunting smile. "Oh Hazel, you should be more romantic when calling my name." 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
His gaze boldly roamed her body, giving the impression of a perverted predator.
Hazel almost took a step back instinctively, but she had to maintain face for the class. Logan’s expression darkened, seeing Apollo indirectly harass Hazel.
If it weren’t for her, he might have not been able to solve the questions in the exam this morning. She was his benefactor, someone he was grateful to.
’How dare he try that?’
Channeling all his frustration from the exams and his current displeasure, he stepped between them, locking eyes with Apollo.
The instant Apollo looked at him, he felt a slight tremble in his body, as if something fearsome was right before him.
Even then, he wasn’t deterred. His eyebrows creased, and he felt something surge within him.
’Hm?’
Kaiser was attracted to the spectacle, sensing something others might not sense immediately. Both students were already exercising their auras, something quite uncommon for mere Rank 1 Awakened.
Apollo’s sneer turned into a smirk, feeling a slight resistance coming from Logan.
Using his aura wasn’t something he had learned somewhere, but something he had gained even before awakening. To him, it was the act of becoming so intimidating that his opponents felt instant fear.
It was only when he awakened that it solidified into something tangible.
Now seeing someone with a similar aura, he was intrigued and excited.
"Oh? I didn’t know you had a loyal dog like him, Hazel."
His eyes narrowed, looking behind Logan’s burly figure.
Before she could reply, Logan growled. "A dog?"
His fists clenched and unclenched, and he suddenly threw out a straight punch.
Apollo crossed his arms instantly, but the impact he expected never came. Everyone was shocked, as everything seemed too fast to follow.
Logan looked to his side, surprised as Ariel held his wrist, completely stopping him from moving.
"You shouldn’t be doing that."
Ariel calmly spoke, then released his hand. Without saying anything else, he stepped back.
Apollo’s eyes locked onto his frail figure, and he laughed wildly. "So you have several monsters hidden in your class, how unexpected."
His expression turned solemn.
"I used to regard you guys as a bunch of insignificant bugs, but it seems you truly aren’t so simple."
His gaze shifted from Ariel to Hazel, then Logan, Liam, Sebastian, Ysabella, and finally Kaiser.
Slowly, a cold smile graced his lips. "Well, this only makes it more interesting. Unfortunately, I’m not here for you guys. Instead..."
He boldly stepped into the classroom, flanked by Alexander and Thyla; his ’generals’.
"... I’m here for this arrogant fish called Kaiser."
Someone stiffled a laugh, slightly lightening the gloomy atmosphere.
Kaiser slowly raised his head, welcoming Apollo with a faint smile.
"Have you thought about a way to attack me?"
Apollo scowled in displeasure. "Still so arrogant. Well, I didn’t come here to speak with you, but with your classmates."
His words confused everyone. Didn’t he just say he wasn’t here for them but for Kaiser? Why did he turn to them again?
"What do you want?"
Hazel said coldly, unwilling to drag this matter on.
"Have you ever wondered why Kaiser has so many credits on him?"
He grinned, pointing boldly at Kaiser.
"Haven’t you noticed? He has been quite extravagant lately, especially with his meals. Perhaps he’s the mysterious student everyone has been looking for."
Apollo was direct, immediately drawing attention to Kaiser. Suspicion sparked in the hearts of the students, and they all cast subtle glances at the blue-haired boy.
Ever since he had been forced to pay 600,000 points more, he was greatly determined to find that bastard nicknamed Sherlock Holmes.
He had tried tracking the account, but it was all for nothing. Strangely, the account, couldn’t be traced, and the bank code he transferred to was only a one-time code—he couldn’t find anything again.
Frustrated, he decided to transfer his aggression towards Kaiser who was one of his suspects. He was curious, wondering how Kaiser would react when his classmates looked at him with suspicion.
When they began to isolate him, would his mask of arrogance finally crack?
Kaiser’s eyes curved into crescents, amused by the current turn in situations. He hadn’t expected that his identity as Sherlock Holmes would be used against him. Although they had no concrete evidence, the suspicion and doubt were the weapons that Apollo needed to use against him.
Smiling widely, he clapped. "Very impressive, Apollo. You haven’t disappointed me in the slightest."
He rested his elbows on the table, chin resting on interlocked fingers. At this point, he was the center of attention of all the students present. Even those who had been about to leave the class stayed behind.
"Indeed, I am the student nicknamed Sherlock Holmes. Is there anyone with an issue concerning that?"
His words were like a bomb, startling everyone present. Someone dropped their book, mouth agape. The revelation was too shocking.
’The same person who made us pay a large sum just to get information and buy cameras... was our own classmate?’
One could understand the shock and indignation the students of Class-E were feeling.
Even Apollo looked surprised and solemn at the same time.
"Enough of the jokes. You really are?"
He stepped forward, fists clenched in silent restraint. Everyone shared his shock and anger, especially the students of Class-E.
’Seriously?! It’s him?’ Hazel stared wide-eyed.
Kaiser gave Apollo a disapproving look. "Do I look like the type to crack jokes? I earned an extra 600,000 credits from you."
’That look...’
Apollo grabbed the edge of Kaiser’s table, his face just inches away from Kaiser’s.
"Do you remember?" He said in a low voice. "I promised to make your life hell if I find you."
Kaiser stared into those violent purple eyes, unmoved. "Well? Do you want to make a move on me?"
He looked carefree, as if he was ready to accept a fight right here.
"Apollo..."
Thyla whispered cautiously. She took a glance at the cameras at the corners of the classroom, then back at Apollo.
Would he really go down in a brawl with Kaiser?
