Eternal Love: The Billionaire's Relentless Pursuit-Chapter 708 - 701: The Final Gamble (Part 5)
The night was deep, Bai Yiran glanced at the time; it was two in the morning, just when people are at their sleepiest.
She walked to the door dressed neatly, took a deep breath, and started knocking.
Soon, the voices of Jia and Yi, cursing and grumbling, came from outside. Jia opened the door and saw Bai Yiran, asking groggily and impatiently, "At this hour, what do you want?"
Bai Yiran looked at Jia and Yi, both displaying a sleep-deprived demeanor, and said, "I want to go to the bathroom."
"Why go to the bathroom at this late hour? It’s dark and cold outside! Can’t you hold it in?" Yi said, extremely sleepy.
"I can’t hold it; how can a woman hold in bathroom needs? If you don’t let me go, I’ll shout! If that wakes Brother Zu, it won’t be good for anyone!" Bai Yiran started threatening them verbally.
Evidently, mentioning Wu Chengzu at this moment was most effective. Upon hearing Brother Zu’s name, Jia and Yi immediately nodded, "Then let’s go, let’s go..."
They dared not let Bai Yiran truly wake Wu Chengzu, nor did they dare let her go alone, so they had no choice but to accompany her.
Before heading to the bathroom, Bai Yiran deliberately took a lot of toilet paper in front of Jia and Yi, watching their helpless expressions. It seemed this hostage sister was going for a big one; they would have to wait...
At two in the morning, the sky was pitch black. Jia used a flashlight to guide Bai Yiran to the outhouse. At night, the smell of the outhouse was not as intense as during the day, just very dark.
Bai Yiran looked at Jia, "Give me that flashlight; it’s too dark inside, and I’m scared."
Jia grumbled about why there wasn’t a light installed inside the outhouse but handed the flashlight to Bai Yiran.
Bai Yiran took the flashlight, and just when she was about to enter, she turned to look at Jia and Yi, standing by the low wall, and said, "I ate a bit much tonight, now my stomach hurts, the smell and sound might be big later. Why don’t you stand over there?" Bai Yiran casually pointed to the other side of the outhouse.
Jia and Yi exchanged a glance, thinking it was pitch dark outside, Bai Yiran wouldn’t be able to escape, so they simply agreed and walked over to the other side of the outhouse. They didn’t want to squat at the outhouse door listening to sounds and smelling odors in the middle of the night.
Seeing the two settle on the other side, only then did Bai Yiran enter the outhouse with the flashlight. The flashlight illuminated the pitch-black outhouse, allowing Jia and Yi to see the light, proving Bai Yiran was still inside.
Very sleepy, Jia and Yi soon began nodding off, unable to keep their eyes open, eyelids fighting sleep.
Bai Yiran placed the flashlight on the outhouse floor and didn’t move it, keeping the outhouse bright. She then curled her body cautiously, inching to the low wall, careful not to reveal her head for fear of being discovered by Jia and Yi.
Her eyes scanned from the low wall to the outhouse roof, then to the courtyard wall, mentally reviewing countless escape plans she had thought through.
Bai Yiran kept thinking to herself, this was her final chance; if she didn’t seize it, she might never escape.
Not daring to delay too long, taking one last deep breath, Bai Yiran lightly placed her hand on the top of the low wall, stealthily peeking at Jia and Yi, discovering they weren’t looking her way. The two seemed intensely sleepy, leaning against each other asleep.
Bai Yiran felt pleased, exerted strength in her arms, and climbed the low wall smoothly. Without pause, she swiftly got on top of the outhouse.
But as she turned, just ready to climb onto the courtyard wall, Bai Yiran saw a person, instantly breaking out into a cold sweat.
Da Lin...
