Even If I'm Reborn as a Cute Dragon Girl, I Will Still Make a Harem-Chapter 96Book 6: : Mutual Destruction
In the boundless void, Gerald, driven to the brink of death, roared in fury, “Regalis! Don’t push me!”
His massive body smashed through the dead stars in the surrounding, reducing them to cosmic dust. Yet, the ones that were part of the vast formation held firm.
No matter what he tried, escape was impossible. And under the Dragon Queen’s increasingly terrifying assault, he was powerless to retaliate.
Bits of flesh and splintered white bone fragments flew in every direction.
As the Dragon Ancestor, his vitality was immense. But even that life force was slowly draining away under the Dragon Queen’s brutal attacks.
His heart alone had been crushed more than a hundred times. At this rate, she would torture him to death in the cruelest way!
“This is what you deserve, isn’t it?”
The Dragon Queen’s face was unreadable. She just kept suppressing the emotions in her heart, again and again, until her usual stoic expression returned to her face.
She didn’t even use spells or her power of Authority. With just her bare hands, she plucked Gerald’s scales off, tore his flesh, ripped out his bones, shattered his organs, and crushed his heart.
The cruel punishment was repeated over and over again. Even the death by a thousand cuts paled in comparison.
This felt just like the torment she endured nine million years ago, when she helplessly watched the dragon race inch toward extinction.
“Last warning, Regalis! Don’t force me!”
Gerald, having barely regenerated his heart once more, finally got a moment’s respite. Perhaps the Dragon Queen didn’t want him to die so quickly and get an easy way out.
He leaned weakly against the edge of the great formation. The size of his body, once rivaling a star, had been drastically reduced. The golden glow in his eyes had faded to a dull, bloody crimson.
With those red eyes, he watched as the Dragon Queen approached—slowly, leisurely, like someone on a walk.
His voice rasped through his torn throat. “Dragon Queen… think carefully. If I really resort to that, you’ll definitely regret it!”
“Nine million years, and you’ve only grown more wishy-washy, Dragon Ancestor.”
She continued walking, holding Gerald’s gaze calmly with sorrow in her eyes. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
“I have far too many regrets. What’s one more? So go ahead. Use whatever card you have up your sleeve. Because this is your last chance, Dragon Ancestor.”
The Dragon Queen raised her skeletal hand. Before she even struck, space itself began to cave inward as if under an unbearable weight.
Cracks spread out like spiderwebs. A strange gray mist seeped from the tiny gaps, only to be violently repelled by a force even more terrifying.
This would be a fatal strike.
“Hahahaha… I see now! So that’s how it is!” Gerald’s laugh was shrill and manic, as though he had glimpsed something from the Dragon Queen’s calm eyes.
“You knew! You knew all along! That’s why you didn’t hold back, because you don’t care! Regalis, you traitor! You never cared! You just want me dead! But…”
Golden runes streamed across his maddened pupils as a strange power surged within him.
“But I am the Dragon Ancestor! The sovereign of sovereigns! I will not die so easily!”
*CRACK.*
The Dragon Queen brought her hand down.
It was a gentle motion, yet an endless surge of murderous intent shot straight for Gerald’s forehead.
This blow would surely obliterate him.
But…
In the very last moment, her hand was stopped, blocked by a thin layer of crystalline black substance that looked like glass stained by black ink.
It was as thin as a cicada’s wing, shimmering faintly under the starlight. Despite its fragility, it exuded a supreme Authority.
The crystal wall halted the Dragon Queen’s blow with ease.
The sound that followed the collision was a crisp clink—like marbles tapping against a windowpane.
And heartbreakingly… beautiful.
Silence fell.
Even the Thoughtless Deity Lord, who had been watching impassively, was momentarily stunned by the turn of events.
The Dragon Queen slowly retracted her hand. She looked past the crystal wall and saw a petite figure in a black princess dress that had arrived at some point.
Her expression softened. Pity and affection welled in her eyes.
“Long time no see… my dear daughter.” The Dragon Queen greeted her gently. “Have you been eating properly?”
The petite figure gave no reply. Her eyes, once as clear and radiant as gemstones, were now blank and utterly lost.
It was as if she were staring into space. Eyes devoid of light could no longer focus.
And yet, the black crystal she released did indeed block the Dragon Queen’s path… under Gerald’s control.
“Heh… Don’t waste your breath, Regalis. She can’t hear you.”
Though his form had shrunk drastically, Gerald still towered over the girl like a mountain.
Hiding behind the black crystal and the petite girl, he craned his massive neck with zero shame and sneered.
“I told you not to push me. I was planning to wait until the timing was perfect before making my move, but you just had to be impatient. And what did that impatience get you? Nothing. Too bad for you that it has only accelerated the transformation of your ‘precious’ daughter into a puppet.”
“When? I remember I have…”
“Erased the runes?” Gerald let out a hoarse, mocking laugh. “Regalis, please. This is no time for a joke. Just as you have said, my power may be laughable for a Dragon Ancestor, but I am way better than you in other areas like ancient runes and incantations!”
“There’s something I never taught you—sometimes, sheer longevity is a power all its own!”
The Dragon Queen’s expression darkened.
“And this power of yours has you hiding behind a little girl?” she snapped. “Just how far are you planning to disgrace yourself, Dragon Ancestor!”
Gerald’s scarred cheek twitched. Madness flared again in his murky eyes.
“Disgrace?” he roared. “Yes, I have to disgrace myself, but that’s all because of you, Regalis! You mad hag! You traitor! We were one cycle away from perfection! Just one! Yet you had to ruin it! You had to push me! You just had to!”
“Hah! And what did it get you? Well, I’m taking you down with me if I have to! I don’t know how much longer this brat’s body can last. But I think it should last just enough to kill you!”
“Don’t think I don’t know. You’re nowhere near your peak from nine million years ago. Back then, you could face the Dragon Eater… but what about now?”
“I’m looking forward to seeing it, Regalis. Let’s see if you can still shine as brilliantly as you did back then—against your precious daughter!”
His crimson eyes gleamed with malice as he pointed at the Dragon Queen and ordered Lilith.
“GO. KILL HER!”
