Evolution begins with an ant colony-Chapter 331: System Notice
In the depths of his mind, Akun’s thoughts raced as he called out to the system. "What do you mean by this?" he silently questioned, hoping for some form of understanding.
In response, the system’s voice echoed saying. †[You locked the status window of the target from being viewed by you.]†
Akun’s brows furrowed in confusion, his mind grappling with the implications of the system’s words. "I still don’t understand," he muttered aloud, frustration tingeing his voice. "Are you saying that I locked Alaric’s status window, so I won’t look at Aric’s status window?"
†[Yes.]†
The system’s response only make Akun even more confused, "But when did I do that?" he persisted, his voice filled with frustration. "And why would I lock the status window of someone I don’t even know? And what did you mean by ’my privilege was low’ earlier?"
†[All information regarding the target -Aric- Is locked, hence the system cannot answer that question.]†
†[The player locked the status window with a higher system privilege than he currently has access to, hence the notice.]†
Akun furrowed his brow in confusion, trying to understand what the system had just revealed. "This is making even less sense," he muttered incredulously. "System? Since when did I need privileges to access your functions?"

†[Unfortunately, the player doesn’t possess enough privilege to access this information.]†
Akun was left utterly shocked and silenced by all the system’s responses. Who was this Aric, and when and why did Akun lock his status window, preventing himself from looking at it? All of this was a mystery to him, but it was clear something was amiss, and Akun couldn’t help but feel slightly uneasy about it.
Tatillia, seated beside Akun, couldn’t help but notice the perplexed furrow of his brow and the distant look in his eyes. Concerned, she leaned in slightly and asked in a gentle tone, "Is everything okay?"
Akun’s response was hesitant, his gaze shifting momentarily before he offered a nonchalant shrug. "Yeah, everything’s fine," he replied, though his voice gave off a hint of uncertainty.
Unconvinced by his reassurance, Tatillia persisted, her concern clearly in her expression. "Are you sure?" she leaned closer on him, her eyes searching his for any sign of the truth.
Again, Akun affirmed, though this time with a touch more conviction. "Yeah, I’m sure,"
Tatillia sighed softly, sensing that there was more to his demeanor than he was letting on. "Well, if you ever need to talk about anything, I’m here for you, master," she offered, a warm smile gracing her lips as she leaned slightly closer to him. A blush dusted her cheeks as she spoke, a mixture of affection and concern clearly in her eyes.
Akun blushed slightly as Tatilia leaned on him. He couldn’t help but remark in his thoughts, "She’s way too close... and what’s up with this fragrance? I didn’t know that she smelled so nice before. Is it some sort of flower nectar, or... Is it due to her honey?"
He shook his head slightly as he thought further. "Come on, Akun, you shouldn’t get your head in the clouds now. I have to keep my eyes on Aric, although I don’t know how. But it’s obvious; he, the system, and I are connected somehow."
Akun then mumbled, "I’ll be sure to see what I can find when Chrono Nexus and Tatilia get back from getting us a place to rest."
As Kaldarix felt the surge of determination coursing through him as he stood upright, he said, "You know kid, I underestimated you, I’ll take this a bit more seriously now!" His purple mana surged outward, surrounding him in a vibrant aura as his speed increased as he instantly leaped fiward. Gripping a golden sword tightly in hand, he charged toward Aric with his mana blazing in his eyes.
Aric, seeing Kaldarix’s newfound resolve, remarked, "I was hoping you would." With equal resolve, he also charged at Kaldarix. The clash between them was intense, the sheer force behind their sword swings creating a shockwave that reverberated through the arena. The barrier erected by the mages cracked under the pressure, struggling to contain the immense power unleashed by their clash.
As Kaldarix and Aric clashed swords, their movements were a blur of speed and skill. Kaldarix surged forward, his purple mana swirling around him like a tempest. With a mighty swing of his golden sword held firmly in his right hand, he aimed for Aric’s left side.

Aric, his black Aspect power pulsing with his black mana, anticipated the attack and swiftly sidestepped, narrowly avoiding Kaldarix’s strike, a huge gust of wind was created in the after math of the attack. In response, he countered with a swift thrust of his own, aiming for Kaldarix’s chest with his sword held firmly in his left hand.
Kaldarix, caught sight if this, he deflected the blow with a quick parry, the clash of their swords sending sparks flying in all directions. With a serious expression, he followed up with a series of rapid strikes, aiming to overwhelm Aric with sheer speed and ferocity.
Aric, undeterred, matched Kaldarix blow for blow each clash of their swords caused massive shockwaves that practically shook the arena, his movements fluid and precise as he moved around. With each clash of their swords, the shockwaves rippled through the air, causing the ground beneath them to tremble.
The shher strength behind their sword swings left massive marks on the ground everytime the other dodged, their footsteps echoing off the walls as they exchanged blow after blow. Despite the intensity of their fight, neither warrior showed any signs of slowing down, their movements fueled by sheer excitmen and the desire for victory.
As their battle raged on, Kaldarix couldn’t shake off his curiosity about Aric’s identity. "Who is this human? He’s able to match my attacks blow for blow, it’s almost like he knows my sword style. He’s moving his body the same way I’m moving mine," he thought.
Despite Akun’s words to not go all out, Kaldarix knew that if he didn’t display an even greater level of strength, he wouldn’t be able to end this battle.
Meanwhile, Aric continued to taunt Kaldarix with his mocking words. "Come on, dragon lord! Show me what you’ve got! Don’t tell me this was how you fought when you defended your home against the gods." Aric’s words caused Kaldarix to experience flashbacks again, images of Arcadia and his people destroyed and killed when he clashed with the gods.
The images that flashed before his eyes caused him to lose concentration. He instantly slowed down as he felt another sharp pain in his head. Aric noticed this and smiled. In that instant, he proceeded to land a kick on Kaldarix’s abdomen.
The impact of Aric’s kick sent a massive shockwave rippling out from Kaldarix’s body, causing him to stagger backward, his expression surprisingly blank.
