Evolving Infinitely From An E-Class Hero-Chapter 83: New Seal
Murmur, murmur.
Everyone’s gaze seemed to be laser focused on me, as I just stood there while the employee was completely soaked in cold sweat.
Bzzt!
"Argghhh! What the hell do you want from me!"
Just when it seemed like the employee was becoming a nervous wreck of a human being...
"What now? Where is Kenny? Why the hell are you alone here?"
The employee quickly looked behind him and found the manager who had talked down on me earlier.
"Manager Beru!!"
The shouted rather awkwardly as relief washed over his face, the poor newbie employee was loosing his shit just because he couldn’t believe in my power!
How could he? No one totally expects an E-class hero to suddenly reassess and come out with a score of 200% on his test!
Plus the Guild agents of the big and wealthy Guilds were over at the area where new heroes reassess not here where already condemned bottom ranked feeders sat like little bunnies.
"Okay so whats going on?" Manager Beru asked the employee before shoving a heavily and intentional eye contact that I suddenly jerked back.
"Its the measuring sphere, it has started acting up all of a sudden!"
"The sphere? What now?"
"Take a look at the error here sir!"
The employee took a step back and the manager stood in front of the monitor that displayed my result.
And right away, just immediately his eyeballs hit the pixels of the screen, the managers face froze up.
"Two hundre... How long have you been working here?"
"It has been around six months or so sir. Do you think I did something wrong like press the wrong button or something of that soughts?"
"Nope just call one of the tech guys and have them come take a look at it real quick!"
Are you kidding me? This guys are still doubting my abilities even after the measurement sphere has spoken on numerous occasions.
Then just as the employee stepped out of the room, a higher function manager stepped in and walked straight to the measurement spheres monitor to look at the result.
"What seems to be the issue?"
"Look sir!"
The manager named Beru said with a tint of humbleness in his voice.
The higher grade manager looked at the screen and had just about the same reaction as anyone who had starred at the results before him.
"It must be an error sir!"
This whole thing was beginning to get on my nerves, I was hoping to take the test and get out of the ISA Tower D in less than no time.
The new managers gaze dropped on me like an atomic bomb, as he was too dumbfounded to speak.
"You foolish subordinate! This is not an error, this means that the device has detected a meta-energy score of 200%!!"
"Ehhh!"
Everyone sitting outside of the measurement sprang up from their seats upon hearing what the new manager said.
"Excuse me? But- But, doesn’t that mean...?"
The manager named Beru was in shock, it was an extremely rare and unexpected occurrence that I am sure he has never for once witnessed in his illustrious years of working in Tower D.
The old managers voice trembled as he continued, "Doesn’t that mean..."
"Right... He is an automatic S-Class!"
"But sir... Isn’t S-Class designated for a meta score of 80% all the way to a 100%?"
"Huh?!!!!!!!!"
The crowd outside of the measurement room began to build up and in just a short amount of time, there were no more seats in view. All of them were completely covered by standing people hoping to get a peek at what was going on.
It was reassessment day, so any sight or sound of the word S-Class was sure to draw a lot of attention.
A short while later, Dr. Holtz ran into the entrance of the waiting room. His breathing was heavy and fast, and he was even trying to fix his button down shirt.
Following close behind him were several ISA agents and at the center of the entourage stood The Apostle.
Without wasting anytime, Dr, Holtz and his entourage weaved through the crowd and entered into the measurement room.
"Pant, pant! Okay let me see..."
After confirming the information on the monitor, Dr. Holtz completion paled immediately. And then, he turned his gaze to look at me while simultaneously taking off his glasses in disbelief.
"I knew you were strong Reno... But I never for once imagined THIS!"
He took a couple steps towards me till he reached right under my nose.
"What is this power!?"
Just then, The Apostle weaved through the swarm of ISA agents to come into view.
"What is his final Meta score...". He asked innocently.
Dr. Holtz tilted his head slightly but didn’t take his eyes off of me. "Take a guess..." he said.
"A hundred percent... I figured his output would definitely put him ahead of the Guardian..."
"Apostle... Double it..."
Kpim!
The Apostles mouth dropped open and for once since I had come in contact with this man, I’ve finally seen him loose his composure.
"Then that places him..."
"Exactly... We have just seen the worlds first SSS-Class Hero..."
—
"Does that mean, that guys a god?!"
"That is definitely impossible! A meta energy test of 200%!!!!"
The murmurs among the crowd and onlookers began to be more audible as the population increased.
I totally anticipated this, but I still wanted to get this over with as soon as possible.
The ISA higher ups, and the presence of the smaller guilds representatives pulled in a really big crowd and not before long, the word spread to the other side and the representatives of the four biggest guilds began pouring, pushing their way into the vicinity.
I was tempted for a second to consider the big, fat proposal the larger guilds would inevitably come forward with. But, I don’t want to restrict myself to a contract the binds and prevents me from facing certain foes for whatever reason the guilds can come up with.
Well, I’m very comfortable living off the Units I earn from register saves I make, I don’t want to be branded as a means of making money like the guilds use their heroes.
I want to be flexible.
I want to be shifty.
The only reason I’m reassessing to begin with is to re determine my ranking so as to get the ISA off my backs, and the Forever Core’s system didn’t even object my decision like the last time.
So, here’s to the world’s first SSS-Class Hero— I, Reno Renly!
I was honestly thinking I’d hit first class and be ranked above Golden Guardian or maybe just below him at Rank 2 but SSS-Class is a whole different ball game.
SSS-Class literally means I have the ability to end the world as we know it and bring this planet to ashes, I just have to tap into the energy— Because it’s there.
A handful of quick witted scouts suddenly had a remarkable idea and they began yelling my name asking if I’d love to sign under one of the larger guilds — some kind of affiliate, middleman tactics to get a decent amount of Units.
But I didn’t pay heed to their cries, I simply just stood there waiting for my evaluation to be over.
"Ahem..." I buckled my throat.
"I would like to take the written test then..." I said nonchalantly.
"Ah... Well... Since your meta energy level is above the valuation for S-Class, you’re automatically SSS-Class Rank 1, so their would be no need for that..." Dr. Holtz blurted out in response.
I took a glance at The Apostle, he had regained his usual calm and sigmalike attitude and he just stood there looking at me with his phone in his arms as if he was expecting a call.
"Okay... Reno Renly, you can see what your reassessment test has resulted to... It’s time to take your pick, join a guild..." He said and gestured his hands towards the crowd of guild scouts and representative pressing against the glass of the measurement Sphere room hoping to capture my attention.
I glanced at the scene and I wondered how each and everyone of the individuals there could even breathe, the population had become way to dense. If I had to step out of the room, I would definitely be dragged to pieces.
I nodded my head sideways showing my disagreement to join any guild.
"I think I’ll pass on that for now..." I said while shoving my hands into my pockets.
"Ohhh! You don’t want to pick a guild? They come with really great contracts that would help you financially!" Dr Holtz blurted out.
"Plus with your newly realized ranking, they literally pay any amount you ask for just to get your signature..."
"Well, that is not on my list of things I want to accomplish... For now Doctor... I would like to leave if I’m done here."
"Ah... Ah... We would need to take your license and generate a new one for you Sir... " The manager spoke up.
"Ahh... I see, that’s seems about right..." I pulled out my license from my pockets and handed it to him.
"Here you go..."
