Chapter 129: A Hateful Nightmare

"Hmm, how about I prepare some healing and attacking seeds for you?" Ileana asked, but with Neil’s strength he wouldn’t really need them.

"Sure my wifey, also that locket you gave me last time is one of the reasons I am still alive, in fact everyone is.

So thank you, you mean a lot more to me than you might think." Neil spoke softly, pulling her into his arms.

"Mmm" Ileana felt really happy, what more could she ask for?

"When are you leaving?" she asked.

"Very soon, maybe in two or three days." Neil answered, pulling back as he gave a soft kiss and asked:

"Can you ask Fay to prepare that soup for me?"

"Sure, I will." Ileana nodded, hurriedly walking towards the kitchen.

Neil was afraid to fall asleep, he wasn’t sure if his body was really moving on its own or not, but after seeing himself do that, he could not stay there.

He was the biggest danger.

Just Magnar here would be enough to protect them against most problems.

Neil looked at the citadel, for some reason he felt this was all related to that building.

And to uncover the truth or get rid of the monster inside him, he would have to go there.

He could easily stay awake for a few days, in that time he would take care of all the things.

"Let’s keep moving. Bob, call Mob." Neil spoke while thinking of something.

"Yes, lord?" Mob soon walked out of the workshop, greeting him respectfully.

"Is there any shield in the workshop that can cover the entire domain and stop anything from entering, even air?" Neil asked.

"Hmm..." Mob fell into deep thought then nodded and added:

"I can find something similar but once employed it can’t be reused and can only work for at most a week."

"That’s fine, purchase it and once I leave the domain, set it up." Neil spoke, his tone serious.

"Are you leaving?" the dwarves around him asked curiously.

"Yeah, for some time." Without explaining much Neil walked away, then gave some instructions to Leon.

And finally to Magnar, his familiar, making sure that even after he was gone everything remained safe.

Neil had a feeling that even a way out of this place was bound to be found in that citadel.

Magnar wanted to go along but could only nod when Neil spoke firmly.

’With this done, I should now go and inspect the surroundings.’ then he left the domain.

Instinctively, he was about to transform into his Phantom form to increase his speed, but the fear of turning into a monster made him stop.

"My speed alone should be enough."

In the next moment he sprinted, his body turning into a blur and disappearing.

Ileana just watched him from inside the domain which had already started moving.

Feeling the emotional fluctuations earlier she was really worried, unfortunately there wasn’t much she could do to help him.

Still, the beautiful healer supported him as much as she could.

With determination, she started to create the seeds for various types of plants.

...

Neil first covered the area ahead then even checked the hot sides.

He did find one Link where the strongest creatures were just at the 2nd Origin gold class, he cleared it easily.

He also encountered a few Frost bears and centipedes that had managed to stay hidden all this time.

Neil continued to explore the area until it was night time, finally making sure that no danger was around, he returned to the domain.

Ileana waited for him with dozens of seeds and warm soup, the one which calms the mind.

This night, everyone was going to stay awake again.

’If I am awake that... thing can’t take over my mind right? But was it really me? What if there is something else out there?’

The more Neil thought about it the more messed up his mind became, he couldn’t accept that his hands were covered by their blood.

"Hahaha Lord, earlier Rob was checking the watch tower and he fell down, since then he is carrying those two big O’s on his face." Bob laughed, trying to lighten the mood.

While Rob tried to hide the marks, feeling embarrassed.

"Tch didn’t we agree to say I got these marks while fighting the siege golems? Hmph how about it tell them about that drunk incident of yours."

"Ah S- Sorry H- Haha I didn’t mean that, let bygones be bygones, aren’t we brothers? Please not that one!" Bob practically begged.

"Hmph this self proclaimed heavy drinker drank too much and instead of going to the bedroom, ended up peeing on his bed while singin- mmphh"

Bob quickly covered Rob’s mouth, but it was too late.

Neil looked at them and shook his head with a smile, with them all around things never got boring.

"Lord, have this dish." Ray said, passing a bowl.

Neil took the bowl, tasting the new dish and as expected of his chefs, it was excellent.

"This is great." He complimented.

"Thank you lord, it was me who invented it, I named it Fay’s chilli steak!" Fay said cheerfully.

"Mm good job Fay." Neil spoke, making the cute girl giggle.

The atmosphere around was really nice as everyone avoided talking about the incidents in the settlement.

All because they trusted Neil, they had faced worse so this much wouldn’t be enough to stop them.

Soon Neil and Ileana returned to the bedroom, though not to sleep but to do some exercise together.

Ileana sat on top of Neil and rode him several times over, before getting pressed under him and getting filled again and again until the morning.

It wasn’t until the dawn had arrived that Neil finally pulled out of her, leaving Ileana completely exhausted.

After dressing up she just fell asleep, Neil cuddled with her for a while then got up.

He caressed the sleeping Ileana’s cheek tenderly, afraid of hurting her.

After freshening up, Neil went to check in the settlement.

And as expected, there were no new casualties, so it really was him doing that?

Neil told Hiroshima to follow the same routine until the problem had been resolved.

And also informed him about his trip.

After his chat with Hiroshima Neil returned to his domain, after checking on Ileana he entered the core room.

The recent situation had certainly affected his training, he could barely focus on that, especially after finding that it was him all along.

"Walker, did you find anything? How’s the situation there?" Cinthia asked in a worried tone as soon as she saw Neil appear.

Despite her tsundere nature, she couldn’t hide her worry.

"...No I couldn’t, yesterday we found four more dead bodies." Neil replied, he was too insecure about it to tell anyone.

He couldn’t even share it with Ileana.

"It’s alright, what you have done for them is already a lot, you don’t owe others anything.

Even if you leave them behind no one will blame you, your life is the priority!" Cinthia spoke firmly, her tone more serious than ever.

Just from his voice she sensed something wrong.

"Anyway, today we aren’t going to battle. Today I’m going to teach you how to control your mind, your emotions, a way to train your mental energy." The snake queen spoke.

Such methods are too precious and secretive, but she didn’t mind giving it to her student if it could be of any help to him.

"Sit cross legged and follow my words, you have to solidify your mental energy, give it a shape."

Neil sat down, completely focused.

"I am going to show you the form of my mental energy first." Cinthia spoke.

Then the air around her buzzed and electricity crackled, sparks flying in all directions.

Such a dramatic change just by her mental state surprised Neil as he watched closely.

His eyes glowed faintly, observing the very way her mental energy was moving, not even a tiny change escaped his gaze.

It was almost like the heightened senses in his 3rd phase.

A greenish cloud rose above Cinthia, which transformed into a terrifying dragon, enormous and deadly.

It put incredible pressure over the entire place, she created a safe space around Neil though.

ROOAAARRRRRRRRRR!!

The dragon roared, sending cracks across the sky, it was truly a dreadful sight.

Then Cinthia retracted it and smiled under the mask.

"There was a dragon I saw when I was young and it was so powerful and big that it scared me back then, becoming my nightmare.

You can shape your mental energy however you feel, just imagine something you feel strongly about." Cinthia explained before adding:

"But first learn this path, this is the way you need to channel your mental energy, materialize it and allow it to affect reality. But you can’t tell it to anyone else, okay?"

"Yes teacher, I will not. And I have already remembered it." Neil said after scanning it once, he already got it after seeing her use it.

"Oh already? Then give it a try, it is normal to fail a few times, just try to imagine bringing your nightmare or something that makes you angry into reality."

Cinthia spoke, taking a few steps back.

Neil nodded and closed his eyes, first he properly sensed the mental energy which was an easy task after sensing his teacher’s energy.

Then he began to control it while thinking of a nightmare or a hateful memory.

He had faced too many nightmares and had many people he hated.

Should he imagine his parents? But he didn’t even remember them.

Then what about those beasts? But they were not strong enough.

What is it that he hates the most and fears at the same time, something that has stopped him from being able to sleep.

That left him restless and questioning everything.

Himself!!
