Getting to his feet, Neil licked his lips; she really tasted too good.

What a waste, if only he could have more and if only she wasn’t such a madwoman.

The second part of his plan was done, now only one thing remained.

Neil turned and right at that moment, all the doors opened and Lizzard men started to flood the corridor, all led there by Nemo.

"My meat shields, protect me!!" Neil shouted as he started to run.

Thankfully, Cynthia had blasted him far enough just now.

But he knew they wouldn’t even last a few seconds, so he would have to hurry up.

He took a right turn, disappearing from the sight of the seething queen.

Then Neil hastily took out the heavy Elemental bow.

And just as he had expected, the crazy queen went on a killing frenzy.

None of the guards or officers were a match for her, she moved forward, her only goal being erasing that hateful human.

’How dare he!! How dare he touch me!!’

Cynthia couldn’t believe she had just allowed him to do that, a mere human at 1st Origin without even a class yet.

Death, he deserved the most horrible death.

Neil heard the screams of the Lizzard men, he knew Cynthia would reach him in mere moments.

So, he paused, as the displays on the walls came to life, they displayed a clear path towards the core in a hall not far away.

Taking a deep breath, Neil observed the path that the arrow needed to follow, thankfully that hall was rather close.

This was the first time he had gotten this far in his attempts, and he wished to succeed without another death.

If his thinking was right then just seeing the target and knowing the path perfectly should work, he wondered if the arrow could really move through the turns.

He positioned the bow and pulled the string, pouring all the essence that he had gained earlier into it.

Instantly an arrow started to form, soon it turned into an earth arrow, he needed the most damage on impact.

Neil exerted all his strength, as veins bulged over his arms, but it still didn’t seem enough.

[Pseudo Phantom Transformation!]

Suddenly his body started to transform, his skin was swallowed by darkness and black veins bulged all over his body.

Neil’s height increased, his figure becoming a bit bulky.

His physical strength increased by a big margin, the string of the bow almost cutting into his skin as he pulled even harder.

All the nearby settlements once again felt the high fluctuations, they were shocked as to why a phantom would come again so soon. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

They panickily began to strengthen their defences.

Neil’s aim was locked on target properly

Just as he was about to let go, several of the Lizzard men noticed him.

Despite Nemo’s navigation, they still sensed the destructive energy and had rushed in that direction.

"W- Were the alarms ringing because of him? He has gone berserk!!" the guards shouted, as they rushed towards him.

In the group of five, all of them were at the 2nd Origin, they were confident in defeating him.

But they weren’t supposed to kill him, so the five hurriedly took out their gas cylinders, planning to use the liquid nitrogen to weaken him.

Neil didn’t let his focus falter, he let the path sink into his mind and after a moment he let go of the arrow.

BANG

With a loud sonic boom, it shot forward just as the guards started to spray liquid nitrogen from all around.

Instantly vapor clouds rose against him, blinding everyone momentarily.

Neil didn’t want to fail now, when he was so close to victory.

He desperately wanted to get out of this prison.

Amidst the blinding vapor cloud...

A growling sound rang out and then, something flashed in the fog and instantly several screams rang out.

The eyes of four of the guards were plunged out of their eye sockets by the sharp claws of the fiend, all of them screaming in terror.

"H- How? Why isn’t it working?" the fifth guard almost fell on his ass, no matter how much gas they sprayed, it had absolutely no effect.

Even as a phantom, he couldn’t have adapted to it so easily, so what went wrong?

"Heh fools..." Neil’s broken voice sounded, as his gaze met with the guard’s, and the Lizzard man could only see endless darkness.

He felt a chill, was he not going berserk?

Then from the beginning, was it all an act? Liquid nitrogen was never his weakness?

As the guard realized this, the cylinder fell from his hands as terror flooded his mind.

Despite being stronger, he turned and ran away, leaving behind the other four who clutched their faces and screamed.

Neil didn’t bother attacking the four, he might succeed in killing them but their strength was still higher.

Even their random accidental attacks could harm him, and his goal was something else.

So, he just returned to his human form and moved away from them, putting the bow away.

The arrow flew quickly to the end of the hallway, Neil held his breath, he had bet everything on this moment.

If it failed, then he really might have to give up on the idea of entering the Lizzard settlement for now.

On the other side, Cynthia had already killed so many guards and officers, it all took just a few moments.

Because of her anger, she was a bit less efficient and was killing them more brutally.

She arrived at the other end of the corridor and finally saw Neil, instead of giving him a quick death, she wanted him to suffer.

Pay for what he had done.

WHOOSH

Under Neil’s nervous gaze, the arrow suddenly turned around the corner, disappearing from his sight.

’I- It worked!!’ the arrow has successfully taken the turn at the end of corridor!

The path to the core had no obstructions thanks to Nemo, so the arrow quickly arrived near the core.

But it was not over yet, Neil wasn’t sure if it could really break the core.

Then his gaze moved to the enraged queen.

After his last transformation and usage of the elemental bow, there wasn’t a drop of essence in his body.

So, he couldn’t use the elemental bow a second time.

All he could do was wait now.

On the other side, the snake queen was menacingly charging towards him.

But seeing that he had paused, she didn’t launch any attack, afraid of killing him too fast.

And instead of rushing at full speed, she slowed down a bit, sure that he was frozen in fear and there was no way to escape.

But just to make sure he couldn’t escape, she covered the surrounding with a strange fog.

Neil was too weak and even his ability seemed useless so obviously she didn’t take him seriously.

On the other side the guards were still rolling and screaming, clutching their bloodied faces.

Time seemed to have slowed, Neil planned to kill himself if the arrow failed to do its job, which was better than getting tortured by that madwoman.

Finally, the earth arrow reached the core.

Carrying a terrifying force, it collided with the core.
