EX-Grade Ability Card: Tower Ascension with My Absolute Restoration-Chapter 34: Second Day

Returning home and deciding to rest for the night, it doesn't even take a few minutes for Azrael to fall asleep, having experienced quite a lot of things from him ascending to the second floor, all the way to finding a decently strong hunt from just his first exploration outside, and even managing to go as far as taking it down, making him think that his experience in the second floor is far better than the first floor.

'Tomorrow, let's start earning for the long travel for that treasure...' opening the map that the [True Treasure Hunting] ability has, looking specifically at the marked location far beyond the scope of what he could currently travel on foot for a day, the young man's eyes then glows as he starts to wonder just what sort of treasure is lying in wait for him there, this anticipation fueled by the fact that he managed to snatch such a rare opportunity from the treasure of the first floor, and given that the tower operates on better rewards the higher the floor they are in, then he can only imagine what is even better than the [Ability Upgrade Card] he previously acquired.

While thinking about all these things, he eventually drifted into the dreamland with smile in his face and peace filling his mind, something that he never felt for the past decade as even if he were to deny it, he just couldn't help but feel the urgency to climb higher floor of the tower, this urgency getting weaker as soon as he entered the tower's second floor.

"Man, it's really good that I went to the shopping district last night, these are far better gears than what I had previously, and I got it for such a cheap price, hahaha" looking at his well-equipped self now wearing gears far better than what he previously had, Azrael couldn't help but give himself a thumbs up for being such a good buyer, not allowing himself to be deceived by those conniving vendors of the shopping district, allowing him to acquire all these equipment for almost just half the price.

Looking at himself in the mirror, the young man then nodded in satisfaction, looking at the new leather boots and tunic that appears to cover way more area of his body than his previous ones, not to mention the metallic bracer that just seems to fit perfectly on his arms as well, adding some sort of defensive capabilities to himself. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom

'It's not like I need to defend myself anyways, but well, better than nothing at all...' recalling the nature of one of his abilities though, Azrael couldn't stop himself from pointing it out especially now that his regeneration speed becomes exponentially faster with the help of the Immortal Energy, making any attack that doesn't surpass a certain threshold practically useless against him, and even if he were to meet an attack that is far more than enough to pulverize him, it would only take him much longer time to recover from such damage.

'Who said that being immortal is fun?' recalling just how much of a beating he received from the Fortress Golem of the first floor, he couldn't help but shiver, wondering what sort of hardships will he experience in the hands of whatever creature it is that is guarding the greatest treasure of the second floor, all while lamenting about the fact that immortality and invincibility, while it does seems similar, couldn't be any more different than it already do.

"Hmm? It's that late already, I guess it's time to go and earn me some money now~" looking at the wall-mounted clock indicating the time being past eight in the morning already, the young man then starts his final preparation, checking whether his new equipment are a perfect fit to him, this lasting for only a few moments before he finally decided to move towards the door, taking a good look at his new residence one last time before stepping outside, making sure to lock his door before finally leaving the building he is currently in.

"Haha, I wonder how much I would earn today? If I can get up to the amount I earned yesterday, then I can start with the long exploration in no time~" he said to himself as he walks towards the gates of the city, said gate already wide open greeting the ascenders either venturing out or towards the city, most of them having the vigorous, excited smile on their faces as if they are looking forwards to what sorts of things they will encounter outside today, a childlike wonder and curiosity that is rarely observed on people their age when outside of the tower, on Earth.

Finally standing right in front of the humongous, metallic gate that appears to be carved with the greatest legend of the Ethereal Tower, similar to the ones carved on the cities of the first floor, Azrael couldn't help but stop for a moment to marvel at whoever created this sculpture on the gates, their works appearing to be lifelike and dynamic, as if the carvings can just come out of the metallic gates to show that it is a living being as well.

After this little appreciation of the artisan who created such amazing work, the young man then returns his focus to the outside, the very same view that met his eyes yesterday appearing to greet him once again, but now, he is more familiar with these lands than previously, his knowledge forged by his long experience giving him some idea on the best locations to hunt and improve himself.

'Maybe I should follow the river for now, given the density of life force in that forest, I doubt I won't encounter something like that Evil Star Wolf' he muttered to himself as he starts dashing away from the city, his speed shocking the observers in the surroundings, making them wonder just what sort of ascender who just stepped onto the second floor can achieve such speed.

"Follow and don't let him get out of your sights, and don't reveal yourselves unless you're all certain of completely incapacitating him" one of these observing figures said with a hint of urgency in their voice the moment that they saw the sort of speed that the young man is travelling with.
