Aiden was laying down on the king-sized bed in his private dorm-room while scrolling through a list of items for sale on one of the school’s online shopping forum.

If there was one thing he had to say, it was that people sold quite a lot of weird stuff online and even the mini city that was Arcana Academy, was not exempt from it.

From old cadet uniforms, another supposed ’love potion’ that he definitely knew was a sham, a totally not-a-scam ’fast pass’ to complete quests and even a Miss. Cordelia Violet figurine, the list of weird stuffs seemingly continuing on and on.

"What the hell…" the youth muttered as his eyes lingered for a second on the perfect replica of their instructor in a wedding gown while holding a bouquet of flower before eventually scrolling past it, completely disturbed by the thought of someone actually taking their time to make that.

Truth be told though; Aiden was actually scrolling through a hidden online website that only a select few cadets knew about.

One only needed to know the actual URL of the website to access it but even getting that, was immensely difficult to say the least.

But, if a cadet or an instructor actually needed to gain access to it, they would need to pay a whopping sum of 25,000CR.

That down payment fee, was one of the major ways the website maintained its operations. By amassing an insane amount of funds.

Not like that was an issue for Aiden and Flynn though.

No, not in the sense of them actually having more than enough to purchase the entry to the website but more as a result of their advantage in knowing the URL itself due to the novel’s lore.

’‹› Embracethedarkside.com ‹›’

Now although the academy had tried to crack down on the cadets that created the website in an effort to completely erase it from existence, their efforts had ultimately been futile.

Like a resiliently stubborn cockroach that refused to die even after having its head chopped off, the website continuously kept thriving.

Eventually, the academy just gave up on trying to shut it down while also referring to it as ’A Virtual Force of Nature That Could Not Be Stopped’ in an article on the Academy’s main forum.

Now why was Aiden scrolling through this borderline illegal website you ask?

Well, that was because the youth required something very important that he and Flynn would be needing very soon.

Despite the website seemingly mostly having junk and a lot of other scam-related items, there were actually just as much of a lot of very important stuff to be found there.

From past questions of every single written exam since the day the academy was found, to information about their physical exams and its formats, information about various cadets themselves, all the way down to various items that shouldn’t even be in the school premises, it was all there.

But all that was infinitely far from what the black-haired youth was searching for.

With a sigh, Aiden kept scrolling through the list of mostly useless things on the sketchy website, hoping that soon enough, he would find what he was looking for.

A few more minutes passed as the youth continuously kept scrolling aimlessly but just as he was about to let out another tired sigh, his eyes landed on what he had been looking for.

"Found it!" he quietly exclaimed.

Just as he was about to click on the item to have the details expanded, a pop-up notification prevented him from doing so.

Upon seeing the sender of the message, Aiden jumped off his bed and headed straight to his room’s door.

Opening the door, Flynn walked straight in without even so much as a greeting and headed straight for Aiden’s bed.

"Yep. I should probably start wearing a mask whenever I head out to new places from now on" the youth complained as he slumped onto the bed, his voice slightly muffled by it.

Aiden just let out a slight chuckle at his brother’s actions while closing the door as he asked.

"That bad huh?"

"I had to snap so many traders back to earth at the Bazaar district just because of this feaking face" he responded with a tired groan, his voice still slightly muffled by the bed.

"Sounds rough" Aiden commented while moving over to his study nook, flipping the chair facing the desk around and then, sitting down on it.

While now leaning on the chair and gently rocking it back and forth, the youth spoke again.

"So, were you able to get everything?" he asked.

"Yeah" Flynn responded while turning over on the bed to face the ceiling, his legs dangling from the edge of it.

"Healing Potions, Mana Recovery Potions, Mana Beacons and a Mana Fissure-Level Reader" he added, listing the items he had gone out to buy.

"What about the anonymous notes we dropped? Any response from the Academy? Aiden questioned.

"Sigh… Still nothing… No response. Pretty sure they probably though it was a prank" Flynn replied.

"I see. Well, guess we have no choice but to clear it then" Aiden remarked, after which he then curiously asked.

"What about the weapons?"

"Ah that..." Flynn casually replied, after which he then continued.

"I was about to go get titanium-bladed weapons from the Magic Engineering District but I happened to run into old man Novier"

"We exchanged a few words between ourselves and after I was about to bid him farewell, he offered to forge our weapons by himself instead"

"And if you’re wondering, I definitely did try to dissuade him from doing so but damn is he one resiliently stubborn old man. Totally respect him though!" Flynn concluded.

"Huh..." Aiden muttered after which he then lengthily added.

"I mean, I knew he must’ve had a thing for blacksmithing if he wanted the Eclipsian Prism so much but actually hearing him wanting to forge a weapon in this day and age when they’re usually just mass produced with technology feels… really nice I guess?"

"Yeah. I get what you mean. It makes it special, having a weapon forged specifically for us" Flynn remarked.

"That being said Aiden, you already found the Battle Suits?" Flynn followed up with a question almost immediately after his remark.

"Yep!" Aiden answered while raising his smartwatch up to his face as he spoke again.

"Was just about to check the details for it and orde-… Damn!!!" the youth cut his reply mid-sentence with a stunned exclamation.

"You’ve gotta be freaking kidding me!" he continued, causing Flynn who was lying down on the bed to sit upright while wondering what had solicited such strong reactions from his brother.

"How the hell does a single battle suit cost 30,000CR?!" the youth finally explained what caused his shock.

"Oh yeah. That’s definitely daylight robbery when you consider that the actual price is just 5,000AR per one" Flynn commented with a sigh while moving over to view what is brother was looking at through the small holographic projection on his smartwatch.

"Name of the seller is ’Sketchy Ass Blue Feline’ and oh, apparently, she’s offering a discount because it was previously 40,000CR…" Flynn composedly kept talking, finding the name more interesting than the bogus price they were asked to pay.

"Dang it! It’s not like we have a darn choice but to buy it! We do need to clear that fissure after all" Aiden spoke, a slight wave of irritation in his tone.

After releasing a slight grumble for a few more seconds, Aiden placed the order and a pop-up notification instantly relayed back to him that he would receive the package in the next few days.

With another tired sigh, the black-haired youth flipped off his smartwatch while relaxing onto the comfort of his leather chair as he began to rock it back and forth again.

One of the most annoying things about the hidden website was how immensely expensive things usually were as compared to if one were to get it outside instead.

It was usually double the price of the products one wished for and to be fair, it was acceptable considering that those items were never supposed to be in the academy in the first place.

Although Arcana Academy had almost everything a cadet could possibly hope to buy, some certain things like the Battle Suit for Delvers, was something that would only be provided to the cadets who moved to the combat department in their second year.

Considering Aiden and Flynn needed the suits if they safely wanted to venture into the fissure, it was important that they procured it one way or the other since they were still first year cadets.

Flynn although expecting the price to be a bit more expensive than usual, and had previously transferred half of his credits to his brother while keeping the rest to shop for other important things they would need, did not expect the massive price the seller was currently selling it for.

It also seemed like said seller was the only one who had those types of goods in stock so ultimately, they had no choice but to buy it from her regardless.

With a sigh of his own, the youth retreated back onto the comfort of the king-sized bed, his thoughts running back to the name of the supposed seller of the battle suits.

’Sketchy Ass Blue Feline huh...’

"What an interesting name…" the youth muttered to himself.

"Oh~"

"Someone actually bought it with that bogus price?!"

"Hahaha! What a riot!"

A beautiful blue-haired lady with mischievous gleaming, crystal-blue eyes, laughed to herself as she viewed the CR that was deposited to her account for the Battle Suits she had placed for sale on the academy’s hidden website.

"Oh well, an unexpected perk of infiltrating the academy I guess" she giggled to herself as she advanced slowly towards her dorm room, her grey blazer fluttering gently due to the late evening breeze.
